The Statue of Liberty

Did you know the Statue of Liberty is Muslimah? She was carved by a Muslim and is the figure and face of the sculptures mother. Most Americans don't know this.......look at her closely, her clothing, the head covering was changed at the last minute, but she is supposed to be holding the Qur'an and the light to all mankind.

so Islam has been in the US for a long time, and the statue should be a beacon to the rest of us who are muslim.......

Seek the history....it is very interesting. Of course you won't get a hard core American to believe it, even though it is true.....they have tried to hide the facts for a long time.

Assalam aliekum

The statue of Liberty was designed for the abolition of slavery, not for immigrants. If you look at the feet of the statue, she is standing on the broken chains of slavery. She was designed this way as a gift to US for our centennial, to celebrate our liberty from Great Britain and France, but also as a commemoration of our abolition of slavery as a result of the civil war. (courtesy of the History Channel)

The attributation to immigrants was something that came later, mostly because she was so tall that she was the first thing immigrants coming by boat saw of America.

As far as the design, she was designed by Gustave Eiffel (same guy as the tower), and was sculpted by Frederic Auguste Bartholdi. I could not find any information as to whether either of them were Muslim or not (they were both French by nationality).

It would be better if you quote some sentence from that book which is related with your thread.

Salaam,

Actually the sculptor of the Statue of Liberty was a freemason so I would strongly question if he even was a practicing Muslim. It is true he used his mother's face as inspiration but there was never any intent to put a Quran in her hand. Actually he wanted a light beaming from her head and her hand but that was shot down by the investors as they felt he was stealing the ideas off other statues.

Now that I got all to thinking...

The original design was meant for the Suez canal. Khedive Isma'il was originally going to finance the project. The artist/sculptor drew the design from the local Muslim/Egyptian peasant women. The inscription was to be "Egypt (or Progress) Bringing Light to Asia." He first used his mothers face, and to this day it still resembles her. When Egypt could no longer afford the cost of the canal, they couldn't do the sculpture. The design was pretty much scrapped until he "sold" the idea to France/US. The design was changed to accommodate the American public. Freemasonry played an integral part in it. So actually the Statue of Liberty is a 2nd hand gift.

So there you go, if freemansonry had anything to do with the design then I seriously doubt he would've given one whit about a Quran being in her hand.
