Bro i was actually listening to the talk about "Why ascribe oneself to salafiyyah.." translated from Shaykh Albanii.. Very interesting especially when very early in the audio there was actually a commotion about sufis and salafi..

i am actually not a salafi but u know any islamic knowledge is good to know..

salam alaykum bro calling your self salafi is not like calling your self sufi the reason why people call them self salafi is very simple

you will find most muslims call themselfs sunni but they dont follow the sunna for example most sunni muslims celebrate their and the prophets birthdays belive in good luck charms listein to music and some even pray to their sheiks in the grave( and the prophet and his companions(salaf) never did these things


now us salafis call are self so because allah asked us not only to follow the quran and sunna but to understand it like the salaf the companions heres a example

in the quran its says that Allah says he dose nt bare are soul more than it can take now if i a person is nt salafi then he can say well that means that i dont have to pray because of that versuse

but as a salafi i cant say that because i have to refer to how the prophet and his salaf understood it and we know none of the companions understood it in that way

as for salafi and sufi to completley differnt things the prophet actully used the term salafi and said to fatima " indeed i am a blessed salaf to you" as for sufi the prophet and companions never used it

salam alaykum bro i love you for the sake of allah i tell you im proud to call my self salafi because the salaf are the companions of the prophet and i understand it like them

yes bro..we must follow the prophet SAW and the sahaba...Salafi means pious predecessors... I am not a sufi too...I follow mazhab..Shafii. Imam shafii RA is a salafi ...

So inshAllah whatever he and other scholars in Shafii school interpret the quran and autenthic hadith, i will follow..

Important to note all the 4 fiqh imams follow the quran and sunna

salam bro but iman shafi did nt ask us to follow his mabhab he asked us to follow the prophet and then the companions then the tabeein and then the atta tabein

i think it is 73 sects and only one going to jannah...hmm...not 72.
