Bismil' Allah, Ar-Rahman, Ar-Raheem,
My respected brothers and sisters,
I have been thinking. It is time to share some thoughts. Today in my reading of our holy scripture the word mist stood out.
Mist..as it surrounds us in our world today. It has been a very bleak week here. Although it is springtime, the temperature is currently in the low 40's, the gas price is almost $4.00 a gallon, going to the grocery store is a pastime to go window shopping, I have made myself forget the number of deaths all over the world, and my guilt is consuming me..I live in a mist just trying to keeping afloat.
We Muslims seem to forget that we are responsible for each other. We will be questioned on a day that is promised. We must lift the mist from ourselves. We can not live in fear..because if we continue to live in fear..we bow down to that which is useless..we can only fear Allah subhana talla.
Today I was in the midst of a conversation about politics and the state of the economy when I heard someone say..I do not like this politician because he is a Muslim... I walked away..wishing I was near a Muslim..I watched a movie and was left very confused as the film depicted a Muslim man sodomizing a young Muslim boy...the film had Muslims in it...and in California the ban was lifted on gay marriages...
I understood why the world is a prison for Muslims...but we have been granted life by Allah subhana talla to Honor and Praise Him.
I feel one way to lift the mist from ourselves is to be serious about ourselves.
I beg forgiveness for any incoherence in my writing. I am deeply pained by my helplessness for my wish is to beg Allah subhana talla to send His Mercy upon us, all His creation.
I, therefore ask my brothers and sisters in Islam to make dua that Allah subhana talla give us patience and lift a veil of ignorance from us.. showing us the path of our Prophet.
