Asslamo Allaikum,
This is simply my opinion and it is entirely possible that I have misunderstood the whole issue.
We (Muslims) are obligated to give Dawah with full understanding, wisdom and the best of the tactics as eloquently stated in the Qur’aan:
And I see many Brothers/Sisters trying their best and utmost to spread the message of Islam, HOWEVER I do see a problem!
I see that many Brothers/Sisters are neglecting their self and their families at the cost of Dawah to others. Brothers/Sisters WE and OUR families are the FIRST priorities in Islam and it is very clear!
The first commandment given to Rasul-ullah (Sallaho Alaihe Wassallam) was to warn himself and his closest family, look at the clear and blatant advice of Allah (SWT) in the Qur’aan:
[20:132] Bid your family to perform Salāh, and adhere to it yourself. We ask no provision from you. We give provision to you. And the ultimate end is in favour of Taqwā (God-fearing, and piety).
WE are supposed to develop our character according to Sunnah so people can be attracted to us and not repulsed and self-rectification is the HARDEST THING in the world:
If you can IMPROVE yourself & YOUR FAMILY you have done wonders! This may seem to lack GLORY but in the long run if all of us just corrected OURSELVES and OUR FAMILIES, Ummah will get fixed itself!
So in Summary:
Brothers: Lets be the best brothers, husbands, fathers that we can be
Sisters: Lets be the best sisters, wives, mothers that we can be
And it is as simple as that! There are NO Short-cuts...Hard-work, dedication & consistency will get results!
P.S: If you are one of those super men or women who can maintain a healthy balance, good on you (Masha’Allah), but most people CAN’T!
As a man, I consider my first duty is to be a good Muslim, a good husband and a good father and everything else is priority number 2!

[12:108] Say (O Muhammad (Sallaho Alaihe Wassallam), ―This is my way. I call (people) to Allah with full perception, both I and my followers. Pure is Allah; and I am not among those who associate partners with Allah.

[66:6] O you who believe, save yourselves and your families from a fire, the fuel of which is human beings and stones, appointed on which are angels, stern and severe, who do not disobey Allah in what He orders them, and do whatever they are ordered to do.
[20:132] Bid your family to perform Salāh, and adhere to it yourself. We ask no provision from you. We give provision to you. And the ultimate end is in favour of Taqwā (God-fearing, and piety).
[26:214] And warn the nearest people of your clan,
WE are supposed to develop our character according to Sunnah so people can be attracted to us and not repulsed and self-rectification is the HARDEST THING in the world:
"The best believers are those with the best character." (Abu Dawood)
