I keep getting banned for asking this question: Why is this in the Qur'an?
Please dont delete and ban again, I really want to learn.
This is why I came here. This is why Islam scares me. Please don't delete. Please explain how this isn't what I think it is. I know not all Moslems are bad, but this is really questionable.
I was asked to justify my assertion that Muslims are hostile toward America. I geniunely believe this to be the truth, and these verses from the Quran really make me uneasy. I am open to accepting Islam, but I need to have a few things clarified. What place is there for such verses in a Holy Book?
Now we know the Bible has some rather vulgar passages, maybe you should post some verses from the Bible that you don't agree with instead of deleting my post. I have read it from cover to cover, but I found nothing in the Bible as shocking as what I read in the Quran.
Qur’an 9:123 “murder them and treat them harshly”
Qur’an 3.28 Let not the believers take the unbelievers for friends rather than believers; and whoever does this, he shall have nothing of (the guardianship of) Allah, but you should guard yourselves against them, guarding carefully; and Allah makes you cautious of (retribution from) Himself; and to Allah is the eventual coming.
but there's yet another verse, that says it's ok to take unbelievers as friends if it's in an effort to deceive and conquer him and his country.
By ‘guarding carefully’, a Muslim should deceive the infidel. Acting as a friend is fine as long as it is to benefit the Muslim and protect Islam.
Qur’an 5:72 “They are surely infidels who say; ‘God is the Christ, the Messiah, the son of Mary.”
Qur’an 8:12 cp. 8:60 “Instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers”; “smite above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them”
Qur’an 4.89 They desire that you should disbelieve as they have disbelieved, so that you might be (all) alike; therefore take not from among them friends until they fly (their homes) in Allah’s way; but if they turn back, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them, and take not from among them a friend or a helper.
