Guidance from The Prophet (saws)
Abu Musa Al-Ashari (r.a.) reported: ‘The Messenger of Allah (saws) said: "Allah, the Exalted, will continue to stretch out His Hand in the night so that the sinners of the day may repent, and continue to stretch His Hand in the daytime so that the sinners of the night may repent, until the sun rises from the west."’
Related by Muslim.
Commentary:
One of the major Signs of the advent of the Inevitable Day of Judgment is the day when the sun will rise from the West. The above narration informs man that the doors of ‘taubah’ and forgiveness are left wide open by the Lord Most Merciful for any who wishes to turn back to their Lord Creator in repentance….for once the day is established when the sun rises from the West, these doors of ‘taubah’ will be closed shut.
Absolutely regardless of the quality or the quantity of sins one might have committed in one’s past, if one turns back unto their Lord in ‘taubah’ and seeks sincere repentance for one’s transgressions before one has tasted the element of death or before the Day of Judgment is established, it is expected that one would find their Lord Forgiving and Merciful.
