what does REVERT mean

I would like to discuss the meaning of REVERT.

according to http://www.thefreedictionary.com/revert
revert means To return to a former condition, practice, subject, or belief.

Every human being on this Earth is born Muslims.Being Christians,Hindus,Buddha or Jews is not the child's fault but the parents fault.A child is a white cloth which will be coloured and designed by the parents.If they tell the child that ur christian,than the child will blindly follow the religion.

once the child has grown up and can differentiate religions,will wonder which is the true religion.Some might find their light,some might stay in 'dark' forever.

it is just like finding ur way back from the amazon wood.

So,those who have successfuly find their way back to the actual state(muslim),they are called revert.

Revert can only be used and applied on those who converted to Islam.

whereby they use the word revert on someone who converts to Buddhism.

i totaly don't agree with this.

You're absolutely right.

When people a child, they never believe that God (Allah) is not personal. They instead believing that God (Allah) is a very personal God (Allah).

So it's closer to Islam indeed. When talking to the children, say to them "You must of believe on 1 God."

So they remember that and become a Muslim.

you're completely right! i agree that the term "revert" is only to be used to those who have returned back to Islam as they were born Muslims in the first place. i would consider those who convert to buddism and such Converts as this term to me is those who change their faith from one to another where as revert is going back to the former condition or practice(Islam in this case).
