Assalaam walaikum,
I live in an area with a huge concentration of Muslims. However, our masjid is in major need of help. There are politics that I do not wish to know. There are constant complaints about the lack of community.
I have many ideas that are functional to revive the community. I have experience in organizing. I have administrative experience. I have experience in community activization. And I have hands on knowledge in training volunteers. I have worked with youth groups. You get my drift.
However, I am a single woman. I have no voice. The imam has asked me to put my questions and suggestions in writing. I know how that goes. The brothers are simply chauvinistic. They are clueless about anything outside the businesses they run. They run into the masjid and are out. We have so many young Believers who roll their eyes as they are ignored. The last imam who reached the youth left or was asked to leave.
We have no life.
What is a sister to do?
