Why is there so much to confuse a person looking for faith?

Optimist

I guess if you can claim that a creator does not exist then you can believe in anything ... It depends on what logic you follow. This is nothing new. Even the Arabs at the time of the prophet (peace be upon him) used to mock him and accuse him of telling old myths.

Those people are so confused. Discussion with them is almost pointless because they are so full of themselves. Invite the guy to TTI for a meaningful discussion of things POINT by POINT.

Salaam,

Brother while I was visiting the website it seems that a private historian got fed up with the politics. Somehow it seems that his socialistic agenda was conflated with an atheistic peppering. The website seemed to suggest that an intergal part of this government is to get the votes of naive Christians. Under the pretext of a mythical prophet with pseduo-"papers" from experts they hope to change the mind of some voters.

Thus, it is of no good to us. We are believers and no matter what is thrown at us..we have made it an obligation onto oursleves to be the grateful slaves of Allah subhana talla.

That is the greatest threat to those who wish us no good. We believe under all circumstances and conditions. And as believers we are patient for we are as sure of the Day of Judgement as we are of our heart beat.
So dear brothers and sisters let us make haste for Ramadan and the additional blessings Allah bestows on us.

I must add that this site and its members do so much for me and humble me to serve Allah subhana talla with a grateful heart.

Salaam,
In summary the writers believe that the politicians have used religion for personal and political gain.

This is not in islam
Our prophet :saw: taught us to be at the side of Sharai and righteousness regardless of we are in the side of the ruler or not.
Here are two hadiths (I didnt found there inglish translation, so please if anyone knows these hadiths and fount the translation is not accurate just send the correct translation):
Gaber Radia allah anh said that the prophet :saw: said:"The master of martyrs is Hamza bin Abd Almotaaleb and a man stood at an aggressive ruler and ordered him (to do the righteousness) then (the ruler) killed him" narrated by Abou dawood and Alhakim.
The prophet :saw: said:"The best Jihad is a word of justice at an aggressive ruler" narrated by Abou dawood
The early generations (Alsalaf) understood these hadiths and practised them.
Many Imams were prisoned by the politicians because they issued ftawas which was against the interests of the politicians. Some of these Imams are Abou Hanifah, Ibn Hanbal, Malik, Ibn Taimiah (first three are founders of main mathahabs) Also I am not sure about Alshafee.

it shaytan's way to instigate ppl by praising, soothing words first then later try to make us confused. once we are confused means we already in doubt of something.
as we all know that the feeling of doubt is the wispering of shaytan.
it's no harm if we think of the consequences n plus/minus our imaan first before we follow such adviced.

I know Jesus isn't a Myth...How could he be???????? But the information put forth in his link was interesting. I am on a constant search....needing to feel that undeniable connection that unfortunately I lack. I don't so much want FAITH as I want the TRUTH...but everyone has their own truths don't they? Muslims have their truths and even some differ from others...Christians have theirs....and all can make pretty convincing arguments and present their side very well. I think I just need God to come down and clock me in the head for proof and to say to me "this way my child!" LOL!!! (I am being a bit sarcastic on that but you get what I mean.)

I just don't think one way only, I am over consumed by all the information and ideas in the world.

sister, if your heart is sincere and your intentions are pure- you will find the truth. Allah does not forsaken his servants. get up during the middle of the night and pray to Allah. ask him to guide you to that which is right and i'm positively sure he won't let you down. if you need any duas in english or arabic just send me a pm and i'll send them to you inshAllah. sister there is a saying that says "believe not all that you hear, nor half of what you hear". i think it was like that. anyhow Allah guides those whom he wills, just don't give up and don't be pulled away. first and foremost try to learn the deen, islam- since you're a muslim. then after you learn it and have a strong iman, start to read other informations and say what you got to. but as of now even i don't go on sites that i know will confuse me. you have to have a strong iman to do that, and i know i definitely don't got it strong right now. asalamu alaykum
sincerely your sister in islam. :hijabi:

Salaam Diane,

I wanted to respond to you because I appreciate your honesty, sincerity and integrity in being true to yourself in your search. This is very important. I can also relate to many of the "objections" you have stated toward Islam or the prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, because many of the things you have spoken of are things that kept me from fulling embracing Islam for a number of years. My own path took a number of twists and turns, so I am sensitive to those who follow a similar route in life.

However, I am fortunate that I finally came to a point where I was finally able to fully understand that EVERYTHING in Islam is a benefit to humanity and a protection for our souls. I realized clearly that the objections I thought I had were unfounded and misguided. I pray you will come to such a realization as well. True peace is found through submission and obedience to our Creator, and trusting in him completely.

Diane, I will be direct with you: you have already discovered where the Truth lies, but you have turned around and for some reason you are now trying to find it elsewhere. Stop looking to people's ideas or theories in order to find the truth. The Truth in its entirety is to be found in the Qu'ran, which is a revelation to us from the Most High God, the Creator of all. Why listen to another person's theories, which as you pointed out can vary so greatly and present so many different "truths" depending on who you talk to that can sound so convincing, when you can listen to the ULTIMATE TRUTH and direction from the Lord Almighty through studying the Qu'ran? It is God alone who can set your soul at ease and put your path aright. In the Qu'ran God tells us everything we need to know in order to navigate life in this world successfully, and not be fooled by the deceptiveness to be found therein (often caused by the mischief of men, jinns and Shaitan who is an open enemy to man), and find true comfort and success now and in the hereafter.

Reading Quran brings solace to the hearts of the believers. I hope you will find that to be true. Because I care about you and wish the best for you. Not because I want to force you to believe something you do not believe, or want to try to "retain a member of the religion" LOL. There is no compulsion in religion. As a Muslim I have a duty to repeat the message that Muhammad brought, but do not have any duty to ensure that others embrace or retain the religion. The choice belongs to those on the receiving end of the message whether to embrace or reject it. Afterall, Muhammad was only a Messenger, a warner and bringer of glad tidings to the believers. He did not have any power to make others convert, it is God alone who guides.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I get the sense when you declared your shahada that you were still holding onto some doubts about the religion of Islam. And so instead of experiencing peace of mind and heart, you experienced an uneasiness in your soul which eventually led to your rejection of the religion (for yourself). I think people feel pressured into declaring shahada when they are not ready or still have doubts about something, and that is a mistake. I do not like to see someone forced in such a way, because we are taught in Islam that if a person is doubting something it is important for that individual to examine their doubts completely until the doubts have evaporated. Making the declaration of faith without true conviction that there is no god but God and Muhammad is the messenger of God does not do anyone any good.

It is amazing how powerful and transforming that simple statement is: I testify that there is no god but God and Muhammad is the messenter of God. As sister Caramel_Queen stated, "If you believe in Allah and His Messenger what else do you need?" The religion of Islam is the perfected religion of God. Although there are other religions that may have some merit as well, no matter how much you may search and search and search, you will not find something better for the development of your relationship with God than Islam.

Maybe you did experience Peace when you declared shahada, but you allowed doubts to creep in thereafter. If this is the case, I pray you may return to that state you experienced when you declared shahada and find ways to protect and build the strength in your iman.

I hope you do not feel that I have judged you. No matter what path you take I absolutely respect your choice. I just felt obligated to respond and hope there may be some benefit in it. Call out to God in sincerity night and day for right guidance, and also be prepared to follow the guidance that is provided when God answers. InshaAllah you will take sister Palestine up on her offer to provide some helpful duas :)

Take care of yourself!

The challenge of the Qur'an

Asalam alaikum,

Those who glorified Allah both in Open and in secret will be the foremost to Enter Paradise on the Day of Resurrection.
---------The Prophet Muhammad

'verily in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest!' (Al-Qur'an 13-28)

That they rejected Faith; that they uttered against Mary a grave false charge;
That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah.;- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:-
Nay, Allah raised him up unto Himself; and Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise;
----(Al-Qur'an 4:156-158)

And if ye are in doubt as to what We have revealed from time to time to Our servant, then produce a Sura like thereunto; and call your witnesses or helpers (If there are any) besides Allah, if your (doubts) are true.
But if ye cannot- and of a surety ye cannot- then fear the Fire whose fuel is men and stones,- which is prepared for those who reject Faith.
---(Al-Qur'an 2:23-24)
parable of those who take protectors other than Allah is that of the spider, who builds (to itself) a house; but truly the flimsiest of houses is the spider's house;- if they but knew.
-----(Al-Qur'an 29-41)
Behold! in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the alternation of night and day,- there are indeed Signs for men of understanding,-
Men who celebrate the praises of Allah, standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and contemplate the (wonders of) creation in the heavens and the earth, (With the thought): "Our Lord! not for naught Hast Thou created (all) this! Glory to Thee! Give us salvation from the penalty of the Fire.
----(Al-Qur'an 3:190-191)

Soon will We show them our Signs in the (furthest) regions (of the earth), and in their own souls, until it becomes manifest to them that this is the Truth. Is it not enough that thy Lord doth witness all things?
--------(Al-qur'an 41-53)

Deaf, dumb, and blind, they will not return (to the path). (Al-Qur'an 2:18)
Wassalam

Brother in ISLAM
Salaam,

Oh my, save us from the intellectuals! For those who read the response to Sister Diane, know that the person was using a sarcastic tone. I've entered into argument with these types before and they are throughly blinded by their "intellectual superiority." Jesus is a hoax? Pul-ease. I am not impressed with this person's degree, I have two bach degrees and will be getting an MD. So what?? PhDs are basically someone who researched some miniscule point and wrote a paper on a theory.

One cannot use scientific data to prove whether Jesus existed or not, rather you research historical reference. And there are copious amounts of historical reference to establish the physical existence of Jesus. (both religious and nonreligious) Sister, these sorts of intellectuals could literally convince you that you do not exist, such is their mental acrobatics. Philosophy is a fun but eventually useless exercise in the day-to-day events of life.

Assalmoalaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barrkatuhu!
Sister ShyHijabi I am really impressed by your post and well said :) . Lately my BF has been loading me documentries about NWO / Alternate Conspiracy / Aethiest / "Organized Religion" and while watching one of the video i got totally p....d off by what they were trying to do. They were actually trying to prove that Jesus(A.S) and everything is just a myth and few people are behind it and their main motto is to create a ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT.. bla bla bla ... . which seemed totally BS and a poor presentation by paranoid bunch of geeks...

Salaam,

If people had read my post they would understand that the gentleman who is responsible for the website is against the government lying to the public.
He relates to us that many a politician uses the fanatical right wing Christian adn exploits their belief system. The Chrisitan right has 30 million votes..
in order to stop the exploitation of the Christian right the website refutes much of the end of the world arguments.

Very interesting stuff. It will take me a day or two to read all the stuff but it is good. I hate long posts too. But this is a good two minute read.

The bottom line is it is political. He does explain himself. I used your link. He is a historian. He is fed up with the lies of the current admistration. He has a very easy to follow outline.

Salaam,

So I was reading craigslist.com.....yes I am a internet yard sale junkie......and I read this add about Jesus being a MYTH.....

Assalamualaikum sister.

If you will be in a shop of parfume, do you use it or not you will get a smell on your body, and people will ask you did u used parfume or not.

If u are in a factory where people work with fire and dust, do u touch it or not, when u r outside of the factory u will see there are dust on your cloth.

So dont waste ur time, and dont put yourself in confusion. Your are obligated first not to be confused, and help later if others are confused. Some people aren´t confused, but they wanna stay confused though truth is clear.

So dont push yourself in confusion wheel, and study some good things, and stay away from webs which isn´t helpful for your iman.

thats a little advice from your fellow brother.

Dear Sister Diane, it sounds like sensory overload for you! You need to clean up the "files" in your head and start afresh :) My wish and sincere hope for you is that you read Qur'an again with a pure and open heart and that one day, soon, Insha Allah, you will be the strong Muslim in your family, showing your husband and your kids how Islam should really be. May Allah grant you inner-peace, ameen.

Asalamualaikum

Sister I think you need to be more decisive. Dont believe everything you here. Allah is the truth and there is no question about that. Now you can choose to acknowledge what others say or you can choose to go with you heart and gut instincts, but one thing is for sure. If you seek Allah the creator of all with a pure heart, then indeed Allah will guide you to the undeniable truth. Ill make duah for you sister and also keep me and the rest of the muslim ummah in your duah. And may Allah (SWT) protect us from all evil and guide us to the even path. AMEEN.
