:salam2:

we r also missing him :D

and about the lecture,he has strong points like,

-Awrah of men Revealed
-Music played
-Women present in audience
-When it is watched by people over priorities (e.g. praying in jam'ah at the masjid)
-Breaking kinship ties
-Watching haraam commercials

and also it is not specifically soccer, you can apply this lecture to any kind of sport, but i think it is not good to watch and involve in all these things but i cant avoid watching sports, May Allah SWT forgive me..

jazakAllah for the video..

Salam alaikum warahmatullah

salam to brother ansari also....we are missing him too...
anyways...about the vdo....I'm totally with this scholar....i didnt think of all these things he mentioned...but I've found something more important to spend my time alhamdulillah.....i didnt find watching sports or being a die heart fan is more precious thing..where I at the last world cup I remember I cried for the knockout of argentina...and in this world-cup I didnt even have seen a full match of argentina...just the goals and highlight...and alhamdulillah I've lost my passion in this....

we dont have the gurantee of a second of our life...so from day to night, the time we are awake shouldnt spend asingle moment in something other than worshipping Allah Azza wa jal.......

may Allah SWT help us to remember Him all the time and forgive our sins

Jazakallahu Khair
wassalam

I'm not what you believe
welcome back brother Ansari:ma:
I always thought that playing football was haram for muslim men,not only because they are not covered, but also because they don't pray at the right time because of their training...there are many things that Sunnah doesn't allow...but,let's think to ourselves, cause each soul will judged for its actions and only Allah can judge:astag:

lol No one is trying to find a path to jannah through Lionel Messi. That is very sensationalist. I think some people take these things too far. If you feel that sports will have an adverse effect your iman, then avoiding it is probably the best course of action. But to make it seem haram? lol Sorry, but that's too much for me.

I'll even use hadith to support my position. From Bukhari:
Volume 2, Book 15, Number 103:

Narrated 'Urwa on the authority of 'Aisha:

On the days of Mina, (11th, 12th, and 13th of Dhul-Hijjah) Abu Bakr came to her while two young girls were beating the tambourine and the Prophet was lying covered with his clothes. Abu Bakr scolded them and the Prophet uncovered his face and said to Abu Bakr, "Leave them, for these days are the days of 'Id and the days of Mina." 'Aisha further said, "Once the Prophet was screening me and I was watching the display of black slaves in the Mosque and ('Umar) scolded them. The Prophet said, 'Leave them. O Bani Arfida! (carry on), you are safe (protected)'."

From Sahih Muslim:
Book 004, Number 1942:

'A'isha reported: The Messenger of Allah (way peace be upon him) came (in my apartment) while there were two girls with me singing the song of the Battle of Bu'ath. He lay down on the bed and turned away his face. Then came Abu Bakr and he scolded me and said: Oh! this musical instrument of the devil in the house of the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him)! The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) turned towards him and said: Leave them alone. And when he (the Holy Prophet) became unattentive, I hinted them and they went out, and it was the day of 'Id and negroes were playing with shields and speare. (I do not remember) whether I asked the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) or whether he said to me if I desired to see (that sport). I said: Yes. I stood behind him with his face parallel to my face, and he said: O Banu Arfada, be busy (in your sports) till I was satiated. He said (to me): Is that enough? I said: Yes. Upon this he asked me to go.
(apologies for the wordage in the translation) Do you really think that African slaves were covering themselves properly? That women who dressed revealingly weren't part of the crowd? That music wasn't playing? That it couldn't be seen as wasting time?

To each their own, I guess
