Zeitoun (the book)

Asalaamu alaikum -

Has anyone read the book "Zeitoun" by Dave Eggers? Its a true story of a Syrian-American man named Abdulrahaman Zeitoun, a Muslim who, with his wife and kids, lived in New Orleans when Katrina hit. He sent his wife and kids to live with a friend in Arizona and he stayed and helped bring food to stranded people and dogs, even rescuing people when he had a boat slightly larger than his canoe. He wound up being arrested and held for 3 months until he could finally get word to his wife, who promptly hired a lawyer. He was arrested apparently for no reason other than being Muslim (the charges he was eventually filed with were "looting" though he was arrested on his own property).

Apparently its being made into a movie...all proceeds from both go to the Zeitoun Foundation

I'm on the 2nd half of the audio book now, and so far its very good. There are a couple points that seem to be a bit white-washed (to appeal to a non-Muslim audience) but otherwise it is really captivating. The story of his wife Kathy's journey to Islam is amazing, it actually had me tearing up.
