Besm Allah,
Dear brothers and sisters,

I looooove science and espacially mathmatics.
I'm still learning mathmatics because the more I learn the more I realize that all what I know is nothing but a drop of water compared to the sea.

It is through mathmatics how I really found the path of Allah.

Anyone else who share the same love for mathmatics I'll be glad to discuss any issues, history, anecdote ...

I just gradutated with a BS in Applied Mathematics, But I never heard of this Pascal Wager, It's something to do with reasoning the existing of God through a Abstract thinking, I think more of a Non-Traditional Way of Applying Mathematics. I haven't a slightest a clue how it's conducted though : P

Dear brother,

I share the love for mathematics with you. I am electrical engineer by profession but if I could get a second chance, (which I am not going to get :) ), I would love to study physics. It is quite amazing to see, how the development of quantum physics has influenced the phillosophical discussions on determinism of the universe. Today man is much more willing to accept his limitations and the non-deterministic nature of the universe.

I've studied them at university level, but unfortunately not all of them applicable in real life situation.

I'm very pleased to see that many brothers here are interested in science and especially in mathmatics :SMILY259::SMILY259:

The Pascal's Wager is a logical reasoning suggested by the well knowen frensh mathematician Blaise Pascal (1623-1662) to prove the advantage of believing in Allah by using mathematical concepts such as infinity, probability, conditional expectation, etc .

Pascal's point was very simple. If you believe in Allah your expected gain is infinite and if you don't believe your expected loss is also infinte.

Yesterday me and my best friend were discussing about Maxwell's electromagnetic theory, dark matter, nature, atom, big bang, big crush, jinnat and DREAMS(we are pursuing our electronics eng and we just love to gossip about the creation of the world)
He gave one cool explanation on infinity..(our own messy ideas)
He said lets talk about 1,0, and infinity..
1/0=infinity
1= ALLAH(SWT) (THERE IS NO GOD BUT ALLAH)
0= INVISIBLE (WE CAN'T SEE HIM, WE)
Infinity= Created EVERYTHING (Creator of an atom to the whole enormous ever expanding universe.. )

I couldn't agree more. You reminded me of a verse which states that the ones who really fear Allah are those who have knowledge: "And so amongst men and crawling creatures and cattle, are they of various colours. Those truly fear Allah, among His Servants, who have knowledge: for Allah is Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving." 35:28

"High above all is Allah, the King, the Truth! Be not in haste with the Qur'an before its revelation to thee is completed, but say, "O my Lord! advance me in knowledge." 20:115

Dear brother,
There is some people who try to use some silly arithmetic operation to prove Allah existence or to attribute some specific numbers to Allah (this is very widespread in India for exemple). This kind of "mysticism" have nothing to do neither with Islam nor with science.

Science and mathmatics can be used to understand the world in order to prove that this perfect symphony in no case could be the result of any random process. That's how science may help us to find Allah's path.
