Halal Certified?

Assalam Alaikum

I am wondering if you might be able to help me with a question
regarding some coffee flavours i was recently given as a gift. The
flavours in question were Whittard of Chelsea Irish Cream and Whittard
of Chelsea Exotic Rum. I know that both titles indicate alcohol, and I know that this is Haram, but both of these coffees have 'Nature Identical
Flavourings' in them.

The package's ingredients simply said Ground Coffee Beans and Natural Identical Flavourings, it went no further than this. I checked out Natural Identical Flavourings on the internet and discovered...

''Nature-identical substances means flavouring substances that are
obtained by synthesis or isolated through chemical processes, which
are chemically identical to flavouring substances naturally present in
products intended for human consumption. They cannot contain any
artificial flavouring substances.''

I was wondering if you can shed some light as
to whether these flavourings are Halal Certified?

salaams,

If a product is halal certified it would have a stamp or logo on the product...but very few are. You could also check the halal certfifiers for your country.

I see you are Irish...this is a really long shot but do you know if there is any halal food to be had in Belfast? I will be visiting soon and if I can eat meat i would be thrilled :)

Salaams, thats amazing!!!! hehehe, my mum has no excuse not to cook me halal food.

I knew there was a mosque in Belfast but couldn't believe it, all the trouble they have there. I even lived there for 6 months when i was a kid and had a hell of a time being English and Catholic....not to mention the fact that my accent stood right out!

Wait till they hear my husband's accent...lol

Just checked the website out, they have been there since the 70's! Amazing! When i was a kid (i am 27 now) there were no other 'foreigners' in NI other than the Chinese people who lived there.

Belfast must be really really different
