Wa-alaykum-us-salaam,
If you are referring to editing a post that you have made, then there is a Edit Post function near the bottom right hand side of your post number aligned in this order "Edit Post" - "Reply" - "Reply with Quote". I would provide a print screen to illustrate this but currently I am unable.

Like you said sister, I think it is unavailable because you are new, Insha'Allah after a few more posts the edit function should become available automatically.

Brother, the original post should apply to you (there should be a edit function available on the post number you want to edit).
