Literal meaning of kalima is "word (phrase)" and the meaning of shahadah is declaration.

Kalimat al-Tawheed (lit. Word of Divine Unity), is the Shahaadatayn, “Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah Muhammadun Rasool-Allaah (There is no god except Allaah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allaah).”

Wa alaikom assalam
The previous explainations are right , Kalemah means a word . Shahadah means testifying .
We use the word " Klemah " also to show a long sentences not only a word . for e.g. " He says his word " in Arabic it means he says his sermon , speech , both dont mean a word but we Arabs use it .

Kalimat al-Tawheed (lit. Word of Divine Unity), is the Shahaadatayn, “Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah Muhammadun Rasool-Allaah (There is no god except Allaah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allaah

Exactly ! :)
