The Description of Paradise (Jannah)
by Imam Ibn al-Qayyim

The full description of Paradise:

This taken from his famous poetry entitled “al-Kafiya al-Shafiya fee al-Intissar lil-Firqa al-Najiya” (The sufficient healing in the Triumph for the Ahlu-Sunna w al-Jama'a) it’s also known as “Nuniyyah ibn al-Qayyim” because the rhyme he used is the letter “Noon” (N). The original poetry is 5842 verses long composed of chapters explaining Islam and dealing with the other sects and religions. This extract is composed of 28 verses most taken separately between the page 217 to the last verse on page 256 (4931-5842) taken from the chapters describing Janna which are in the end.

O thee who wish to marry the Beautiful “Hoor”, and want to meet them in The Garden of Living (Janna)

Hasten, Accelerate your pace and efforts, indeed this walk of yours (this life) is like one hour in an age

It is a Garden of enjoyment and its bounty is goodness. For, its bounty is ever lasting, never fading

And its buildings are made of golden bricks and others of silver, two types which are different

Its inhabitants are people of Night Prayer and Fasting, their words and acts are goodness and excellence

In it, the servant (of Allah) has a tent made of pearls, it has been raised. It’s manufactured by al-Rahman (Most-Merciful)

Its rivers flow outside and without any ditch, Praise be to The One Who keeps them from flooding

Underneath them (servants), the rivers run, exploded, as they (servants) wish and a river will never be lacking

And the meeting with Our Lord The Most-Merciful has been mentioned in Chapters from the Qur'an

Have you not heard The Caller of The Belief (The Prophet) informing about The Caller of the Garden of Living?

(This caller will say) “O Ye People of Janna, Ye Have from The Most-Merciful a promise and He will realize it for you with guarantee”

They will answer: “Lord, Has you not already enlightened our faces and also our good actions. You have made heavier in the Balance (of The Judgement Day)

And also You have allowed us in Heaven when You have saved us from the punishment of the flames”

So He will say: “I made a promise the time has come that I realize it to you with My Mercy and Affection”

So they will see Him after unveiling Himself (from His Veil of Light) manifestly, this is what narrated Muslim (in al-Sahih) with explanation

And when the Believers will see Him, they will forget all the pleasure and enjoyment their eyes have seen

By God, there is nothing in this world (dunya) more delectable than the desire of the servant to meet The Most-Merciful (al-Rahman)

This is why sighting His Face, Praise be To Him, is the most complete delight to a human being

Allah Has a market (in Janna) set by the noble Angels with all perfection

In it, there is, By God, what no eye has ever seen before. Nay, and what no pair of ears has ever being hearing

Never even desired by a human heart. So, with a language, he would be describing

What a market! He who will be allowed in it have deserved, with safety, congratulation

It is a market where people get to know each other. In it, there is no fuss, no cheating, nor swearing

This, and the conclusion of the happiness is their immortality forever, in the House of Eternity and Satisfaction

My Lord, strengthen us on the Belief and make of us the guiders of the confused and the wandering

And honor us with The Truth and rescue us with it, a strong rescue, You are The All-Dominating

And May, upon The Messenger (Muhammad) be The best Salutations and Peace, from You, and total Satisfaction

And also upon all his companions and those who followed them afterwards with Excellence (Ihsan)

Learning how to correctly pronounce the Quran is one of the most important aspects of learning Quran Kareem as a whole. Some non-Arabic speakers and children, however, may struggle at first while learning the correct pronunciation of the Quran using Tajweed rules. Tajweed rule ‘Ikhfa’ is one of them.
Noor Academy provides you with a simple approach to learning Ikhfa rules Tajweed in a way that even your kids can understand.

What Do We Mean By Tajweed Rules?

Tajweed means “to make better,” and it is the correct pronunciation of
Arabic words. People who learn how to read and recite Tajweed Quran pronunciation can accurately pronounce Arabic words.
Tajweed Rules’ objective is to teach the Quran accurately while keeping to
Arabic grammar norms. When every letter of the Quran has pronounced accurately, without excess or deficiency,
the Quran is considered to be recited with Tajweed.
There is one popular rule in Tajweed that makes your Quran pronunciation more
accurate, which is Ikhfa. Another term is Idghaam Tajweed, but we’ll get into this later.

History of Tajweed

The science of Tajweed was initially introduced by Imam Abu Ubaid al-Qasim bin Salam (774 – 838 CE). In the third century of Hijrah,
he established a recorded science for tajweed, laying the tajweed basis and naming its laws, and he compiled all of this in his book titled ‘al-Qiraat.’
It grew in popularity over the third century of Hijrah as the Islamic State
developed, resulting in a large number of non-Arabs adopting Islam. Tajweed was created to teach people how to recite the Quran like Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

What is Ikhfa in the Quran?

In Arabic, the literal definition of ikhfa is to conceal something. It’s one of
the Tajweed rules to keep in mind when reciting the Quran.
When a noon sakinah or tanween is followed by an ikhfa letter, the noon sound is not made.
Instead, as the tongue reaches the makhraj of the next letter (the point of articulation), hold it for a minute and pronounce ghunna, making a humming type sound heard when reciting.
In essence, you are ‘hiding’ the noon or tanween. This takes practice, and many of us end up saying ghunna with the tip of our tongue on our front teeth as if we were saying noon.
You can make this easier by taking a Quran Tajweed course in Noor Academy with a professional Tajweed tutor.

Letters of Ikhfa

The rule specifies six letters that come after the noon al-saakinah. In that
situation, it must be said explicitly. These letters are:
ي ر م ل و ن ب
Ikhfa is applied to the remaining Arabic alphabet letters. The 15 Ikhfa
letters are:
ت، ث، ج، د، ذ، ز، س، ش، ص، ض، ط، ظ، ف، ق، ك
For example, if the letter following is a taa with dhamma ‘تُ’, the mouth prepares to pronounce it by taking a little “o” shape, and the tongue positions itself within the mouth.
This might happen over two words or inside one.
Examples:
فريقًا تقتلون –
fariqqan-taqtulun
قنوانٌ دانية –
Qonqanun-daniya

How To Do Ikhfa

Ikhfaa must be heard on two counts, for the time it takes to utter the words
‘one two.’ This needs practice and intensive Quran recitation listening.
Example:
Minn-qabl من قبل
Ann-tum أنتم

More Dangerous than Zina

Allah, the Wise, has said:
“O you who believe! let not (one) people laugh at (another) people.” (Noble Qur’an, Surah al-Hujarat, 49:11.)

The Prophet (saw) said:
“If a person humiliates a believer, indigent or otherwise, Allah shall always abhor and humiliate him.” (Jame’ al-Sa’adat, Volume 2, Page 215.)

Short Expalantion
Factors such as arrogance, malice, envy and the like cause some individuals to view others who are either illiterate or lack strength and whom they have compelled into performing base and lowly work, with contempt and humiliation.

Disparagement in every form is forbidden; moreover, if the humiliated person experiences a feeling of disgrace and injury, this is bound to result in a metaphysical reaction which would reflect badly upon the esteem and personality of the offender. Thus, it is befitting to take regard of the weakest of Allah’s creations so that, we too are encompassed by His grace and compassion.

which is considered to have evolved from the Phoenician.
Since the fourth century AD, the Arabic alphabet has been in use. However, the language’s first written evidence goes back to 512 AD.
As a result, the Arabic Alphabet precedes the birth of Islam. Islam, on the other hand, had an impact on the Arabic writing system. Diacritics and short vowels were added to the Arabic script to make it simpler to read the Holy Quran aloud.

without having to drive to and from the Arabic learning center. The solution is online learning.
The fact that you have an online instructor does not free you of obligation for your children’s performance.
Make a habit of asking the teacher for feedback on their development as well as suggestions on how you can help them learn faster and better.

How can I learn to read Arabic?

The development of good Arabic reading skills has a wide-ranging impact on your Arabic language acquisition.
Reading promotes the development of Arabic proficiency while also strengthening other abilities such as listening, speaking, and writing.
Reading helps Arabic learners improve their ability to comprehend Arabic’s “surface structure,” allowing them to focus their brainpower on the “deep structure” or meaning.
As with other things, most of us are best served by developing a habit when it comes to reading Arabic. A habit, once formed, removes the uncertainty of whether or not we are prepared on a daily basis.
It is sometimes a lack of willpower rather than a lack of time or energy that prevents us from doing what we know will help us learn successfully. Habits, once formed, trump willpower.

Here are some things that you may do while reading Arabic:

Reading aloud to oneself in privacy is referred to as silent reading. Reading any “learn Arabic” book aloud, whether to a language partner, instructor, or oneself, is what oral reading implies.
Intensive reading is reading small parts thoroughly, ensuring that every word and structure is comprehended.
Extensive reading is defined as reading vast parts for broad comprehension rather than pausing to absorb every word.
Combining these strategies will be the most beneficial to you. This involves a wide variety of talents and requires your undivided attention.
Even though the reading activities are brief, they must be completed. This includes finishing what you’ve begun to read. Because reading in Arabic takes longer than reading in English,
you may find yourself starting something and then stopping halfway through the paragraph. Make every effort to overcome this.

First Mushaf

The Quran was not recorded in book form when Muhammad was alive; it was preserved through oral transmission and short written notes. The prophet did not learn how to read or write, but Muslims believe that when Muhammad was alive, his cousin Ali ibn Abi Talib, among others, used to write the scriptures on anything.
After Prophet Muhammad died, Ali ibn Abi Talib gathered the Quran and compiled it into a book.

Revelation

The Quran was revealed over a period of 23 years, 13 years in Mecca, and ten years in Madinah.

Verses and Surahs

The Quran is divided into 30 sections, totaling 114 surahs (chapters). The amount of verses in each surah varies.

First Verse

The first verse is from Surah Iqra. it was revealed for Muhammad (PBUH) by Jibrel (Alaihi As-salam):
“Read (commencing) with the Name of Allah, Who has created (everything). He created man from a hanging mass (clinging) like a leech (in the mother’s womb). Read and your Lord is Most Generous, Who taught man (reading and writing) by the pen, Who (besides that) taught man (all that) which he did not know.”

The Last verse

The last verse was from Surah Nahl:
“He has only forbidden to you dead animals, blood, the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allah. But whoever is forced [by necessity], neither desiring [it] nor transgressing [its limit] – then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.”

The Longest and Shortest Surah

Surah Baqarah is the longest, whereas Surah Kawthar is the shortest.

Stories of Prophets

There are 25 Prophets mentioned in the Holy Quran. Their stories are meant to give us life lessons and teach us lots of things in a unique way.

Facts About the Miracle of the Quran for Children

The miracles described in the Holy Quran are classified into several categories. The following are the many divisions of miracles in the Quran:

Physical and non-physical miracles

There are two kinds of miracles in the Quran. Some miracles are tangible in the sense that they may be grasped by a human being’s perceptions. The voyage of the Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) from Earth to Paradise, as described in Surah al-Isra, is one example of such a miracle.
Other Quranic miracles are those that are beyond the reach of the senses. The Balaghah in the Holy Quran is an example of such a miracle. The quranic linguistics excellence is a Quranic marvel.

Miracles related to time and space

Another distinction of the Quranic miracles is linked to the potential of a miracle being limited in time and location. Some miracles, for example, are restricted to a specific time and location, whilst others are timeless. Inshiqaq al-Qamar or the coolness of fire for the Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) is an example of the former.
The Quran itself is an example of later, as it is an eternal wonder.
The Quran has certain features that distinguish it from other texts. Some of these characteristics are as follows:

The language

The excellent quality of the Arabic in the Quran is considered a Quranic miracle. Because of the excellent quality of the Quran language, Allah Almighty issued an open invitation to the Arabs, who were well-known for their linguistic abilities, to write a single verse equal to the Quran.

The subject matter of the Quran is vast and all-encompassing.

It spans the entire existence, from origin to conclusion. It contains information about Allah, the Creator of the cosmos, as well as His characteristics. The Quran provides instruction in all aspects of human life.

The Quran did not appear all at once.

It was revealed as part of a reformative process in which sections of the Quran would be revealed in response to the demands of the moment. Other holy writings had also been sent down at the same time.

The Quran gives instruction for all of humanity, across all ages.

Its message is not restricted to a specific time in history, location, or set of people. Instead, the message of the Quran is universal and applicable to all people.

What Are the Scientific Facts in the Quran?

Allah (SWT) commands Muslims to examine and study the universe in order to discover some of His signs. As a result, numerous passages of the Noble Quran exhort Muslims to study nature and seek knowledge, which has been interpreted as support for scientific research.
“We will show them Our signs in the universe and in their own selves until it becomes manifest to them that this (the Quran) is the truth”
(Surah Fussilat)

1- The Creation of the Universe

Edwin Hubble, an American astronomer, developed Hubble’s Law in 1929, which states that all entities in space move away from the Earth at rates proportionate to their distance, i.e. the greater the distance from the Earth, the faster they move. Soon later, he observed that galaxies are also moving away from one another, implying that the universe as a whole is expanding.
This set the groundwork for the Big Bang hypothesis, which claims that the cosmos came into existence about 12-15 billion years ago from a single very hot and dense point and that the universe came into existence as a result of an explosion of this point. Since then, the cosmos has expanded from this one point.
“Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them”
(Surah al-Anbiya)

2- The Seas Emerging

Science has found that where two distinct seas meet, there is a barrier that separates them, allowing both seas to keep their unique temperature, salinity, and density.
“He released the two seas, meeting [side by side], Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses”
(Surah ar-Rahman)

3- The Sky Protection to Earth

It is a factual theory that the sky, with all of its gasses, shields the earth and all life on it from the sun’s destructive rays. Life on Earth would come to an end if there was no outermost covering since the surface temperature Of the earth would be frozen at -270.556°C, the same as the temperature in space.
“And We made the sky a protected ceiling, but they, from its signs, are turning away”
(Surah al-Anbiya)

4- The Movement of All Things in the Universe

Although it was only a widely held concept among astronomers in the twentieth century, it is now a well-established truth that the Sun, Moon, and all other things in the Universe are continually moving in an orbit and are not stationary.
“And it is He who created the night and the day and the sun and the moon; all [heavenly bodies] in an orbit are swimming”
(Surah al-Anbiya)

5- The Universe Expansion

According to prominent physicist Stephen Hawking in his book ‘A Brief History of Time’:
“The discovery that the universe is expanding was one of the great intellectual revolutions of the twentieth century”
Despite the fact that the Quran had already disclosed to us that in relation to the universe, “We are its expander” decades and decades before.
“And the heaven We constructed with strength, and indeed, We are [its] expander”
(Surah Adh-Dhariyat)

6- Water

It wasn’t until the invention of the microscope that it was realized that all living things are mainly made of water – while in the Arabian deserts, no one would have guessed that all life comes from water.
“We made every living thing from water, will they not believe?”
(Surah Al-Anbiya)

7- Iron

Iron, according to M. E. Walrath, is not a natural element of the earth. According to scientists, meteorites impacted the globe billions of years ago. Iron was prevalent in these meteorites, and as a result of a disaster on Earth, we now have access to iron.
“We sent down Iron with its great inherent strength and its many benefits for humankind”
(Surah al-Hadid)

Why Teach The Concept Of Zakat To Kids?
Zakat is a pillar of Islam and whoever ignores it is considered a sinner. That’s why we should teach the concept of Zakat for kids once they reach a certain age when they can comprehend it.
Keep reading to know more basic answers about Zakah and Sadaqah that you can discuss with your child.

What Is Zakat

Zakat is a sort of almsgiving to the Muslim Ummah, male or female, that is perceived as a religious requirement in Islam. In the Quran, zakat takes place after Salah, implying that it is second only to prayer (salah) in importance.
“Establish regular prayer and give Zakata, and obey Allah and His messenger.”
(Surah Al-Ahzab)
Zakat is a term that means “purification.” As a result, in Islam, zakata encourages Muslims to purify their wealth. According to Islam, those who pay zakata will be rewarded in the hereafter by Allah SWT, but those who do not pay zakata will be condemned.

Benefits of Zakata and Sadaqah

Allah SWT richly rewards those who pay zakat for the sake of Allah. According to Abu Huraira (May Allah Be Pleased With Him), Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) said:
“There is not a day upon which the servant awakens but that two angels descend. One of them says: O Allah, repay one who spends in charity! The other says: O Allah, destroy one who withholds charity!”
(Sahih Bukhari and Muslim)
According to another hadith, refusing to pay zakata or insulting those who do is evidence of hypocrisy, and Allah would not approve of such people’s prayers.
The sunnah also describes Allah’s punishment for those who reject or fail to pay zakata. On the Day of Resurrection (Yawm Al Qiyamah), those who did not pay the zakat will be held accountable and punished.
zakata also has a variety of non-religious advantages. The Almighty has promised to enhance the giver’s wealth as well as to provide him inner peace and pleasure. It is also stated to purify yearly earnings that are greater than what is required to fulfill the fundamental needs.
Zakat has far-reaching consequences for both the giver and the recipient. It helps the needy become financially stable, which in turn contributes to the general stability and prosperity of our community.

Who Is Eligible for Zakat?

Allah SWT has identified the sorts of individuals who are eligible for zakat money. Any money donated to any other type is not zakata.
So, who is eligible for Zakat?
The people eligible for zakata are 8 recipients of zakat:-
  1. The poor, meaning low-income or indigent.
  2. The needy, meaning someone who is in difficulty.
  3. collectors of Zakat, meaning someone who is Zakat administrators
  4. new Muslims, meaning Those whose hearts are to be reconciled and friends of the Muslim community
  5. slaves and captives,
  6. debt-ridden,
  7. those who are stuck or traveling with little resources,
  8. and those who fight for the cause of Allah SWT.
“Zakah expenditures are only for the poor and for the needy and for those employed to collect [zakah] and for bringing hearts together [for Islam] and for freeing captives [or slaves] and for those in debt and for the cause of Allah and for the [stranded] traveler – an obligation [imposed] by Allah. And Allah is Knowing and Wise.”
(Surah At-Tawbah)
It is important to note that zakat is not the type of charity gift that you give to the poor out of pity. zakata is a right of the underprivileged. When helping the needy, you should do so with decency and respect. Never allow pride to enter your heart; else, the rewards of your good actions will be reduced.

Can a Mother Give Zakat to Her Son?

No, a mother can’t give zakata to her son. Zakata should not be donated to one’s immediate family in order for it to be legitimate. Your zakata cannot be received by your spouse, children, parents, or grandparents. The receiver must be underprivileged and eligible for zakata.
A poor individual has a property that surpasses their basic needs but does not surpass the Nisab level. It should be noted that Zakat can be donated to family members if they meet one of the eligibility conditions of recipients of zakata. However, not to immediate relatives.

How Many Types of Zakat in Islam?

There are two forms of Zakat in Islam. Adult Muslims are required to pay two types of zakata: Al-Mal and Al-Fitr. The first is Zakat on Wealth. The second is Zakat on Fast-Breaking, which is paid at the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.

What Is Zakat al-Mal?

Most Muslims refer to Zakat Al-Mal simply as “Zakat.” Zakat is the annual tax that Muslims are expected to pay on their wealth, which includes money, gold, silver, and property. It takes into account your overall net worth (total wealth).

What Is Zakat al Fitr?

zakat al Fitr is known as the zakata of Breaking the Fast of Ramadan is a particular obligatory donation paid by all Muslims. Muslims pay zakat al Fitr at the end of the Islamic calendar’s holy month of Ramadan.
It is also known as Sadaqat al-Fitr, or “the Donation of Breaking the Fast” of Ramadan, and Zakat al-Fitrah, or “the Charity of Human Nature.” Since it is an obligatory charity, it must be paid by every Muslim at the conclusion of Ramadan, regardless of age or gender.
This obligatory payment is known as Fitrah. This is derived from the Arabic term Fitr, which refers to the “nature” upon which Allah SWT created the human being. It is also related to the Arabic word for “fast-breaking” (iftar), which is eating after a period of abstention from this “natural” and defining human activity.
A Muslim’s Zakat Al-Fitr payment is equal to the cost of a meal. It’s given out on behalf of every member of the family. It is important to note that Zakat Al-Fitr must be conveyed to the needy, even if it is in another country, in order to reach the most deserving receivers on the day of Eid.

How Much zakata to Pay?

So, how much zakat to pay? The amount of Zakat to pay is determined by one’s income and the value of one’s assets. The usual qualifying amount is 2.5 percent of a Muslim’s total savings and fortune. Or 1/40 of his or her total savings and wealth.
Some people may be perplexed as to how to calculate Zakat. As a general guideline, you should calculate all of your goods and pay al Zakat equal to 2.5 percent or 1/40 of the value of your entire holdings that exceed Nisab for roughly a year.
This includes:
  • Value of gold and silver you possess
  • Cash at home and in bank accounts
  • Other savings
  • Other outgoings due
  • Money owed to you
  • The money you owe
  • Stock value
  • al Zakat on installment property
  • Investment and share values
Other things should be taken into account. Such as your money could include money you inherited, so you should pay zakata on inheritance. Your possession could also include the living animals you take care of. So you might find yourself paying al Zakah on goats you keep!
Note: Nisab varies from country to country and year to year. Make sure to ask your local mosque.
Everyone whose wealth reaches or exceeds a certain level known as the Nisab is obligated to pay zakat. In contrast to taxes, zakah is an act of worship for which one receives a reward from Allah SWT.

Can I Pay zakata to Mosque?

So, can I pay zakata to the mosque? It depends. If you’re paying al Zakata to construct and modify a mosque, then no, you can’t pay zakah to a mosque. However, if the mosque is just a medium that will take your money and deliver it to people eligible for al Zakat, then yes, you can pay zakat to a mosque.
The Quran identifies eight distinct groups of “people” who are eligible for zakat payments, to the exclusion of all other individuals and all other types of need.
Mosques that are not owned by any single individual do not fall under Zakah’s divinely defined boundaries. As a result, mosques are not eligible for zakah.
There is a small group of early and modern scholars who believe that the seventh divinely designated zakata category “in the cause of Allah” can qualify mosques; building, fixing them up or paying primary religious people serving in them as genuinely eligible for zakat.

In Islam, Seerah refers to the Seerah of Holy Prophet (PBUH). Al-Seerah an-Nabawiyyah, often abbreviated to Seerah and translated as prophetic biography, is the Islamic culture biographies of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) from which much historical knowledge about the life of the prophet and the early period of Islam is drawn, in addition to the Quran and Hadiths.
Sirat Rasul Allah, also known as as-sira al-nabawiyya, refers to the study of Muhammad’s life. The term seerah was initially associated with Muhammad’s life by Ibn Shihab al-Zuhri and was soon adopted by Ibn Hisham’s writings.
Seerah Of Prophet Muhammad was more frequently known as Maghazi (literally, narratives of military expeditions) in the first two centuries of Islamic history, although this is generally regarded to be just a subset of Seerah, one that involves Muhammad’s (PBUH) military operations.

What Are Hadith and Seerah?

Hadith is a collection of traditions comprising the prophet Muhammad’s sayings, which, along with descriptions of his everyday life, serve as the primary source of guidance for Muslims aside from the Quran.
While Seerah Of Prophet Muhammad is a collection of tales concerning specific incidents in the prophet’s life.
A hadith and a historical account (Seerah) are structurally quite similar; they both include isnads (chains of transmission).
The fundamental distinction between a hadith and Seerah is that a hadith is not concerned with an occurrence in and of itself, and does not usually mention a time or place.
Hadith, on the other hand, is used to record religious teaching as an authentic source of Islamic law. A Seerah, on the other hand, may have some legal or religious consequences,
but its primary goal is to transmit information about a specific occurrence.
Many academics have devoted their work to both types of writings equally from the 8th and 9th centuries. According to certain historians, the Seerah and Maghazi literature is a subset of Hadith.

Why Is Seerah Important?

It’s a Guide

Seerah works as a guide for all Muslims. Allah SWT sent the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as a teacher and guide for the word of God. Mustafa is the name Allah has given to our Prophet which means “the chosen one”.
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), then, took the mission and did it perfectly. That’s why we should closely observe his life and learn from the tiniest details in it.
To begin with, examining Muhammad’s (Peace Be Upon Him) life provides proof of his Prophethood. Only by studying his Seerah can we learn about his Prophethood.

To Know the Islamic History

Furthermore, Islam has a distinct history. Every Messenger of Allah has a life history, however brief. In the Quran, there are snippets of events linked to the life of Muhammad (PBUH), who was sent to the entire universe with the character of Islam.
We come to the Seerah to learn about Islam and our Last Prophet, Muhammad (PBUH).

To Better Understand the Quran

We cannot understand the Quran correctly until we have Seerah in our hands. First and foremost, the Quran was given to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and it was progressively revealed during the course of his Prophethood career.
Seerah Of Prophet Muhammad assists us in comprehending situations and occurrences in relation to each Ayah presented in the Quran. Seerah and the Ayahs of the Qur’an are inextricably linked.

To Follow the Prophet’s Spirit of Islam

Studying Seerah Of Prophet Muhammad will finally lead to Muslims truly following Muhammad (PBUH). Seerah makes it possible to follow him in his totality.
It’s hard to follow him if you don’t know who he is. We cannot draw life lessons without first learning about the circumstances that occurred to him and how he dealt with those challenges during his entire career.

To Better Love Our Prophet

Muslims all over the world claim to love the last prophet, Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), more than their own lives, but to be honest, no one truly loves Him since what he stated via his teachings and what he did practically are not mirrored in the Muslim character in our days.
It implies that we as Muslims say it with our mouths but do not demonstrate it by fully obeying him. Technically, developing a love for someone is impossible until you know her/him totally. Love without knowledge is ridiculous.
One can profess love for someone, but s/he will never be practical about it. Similarly, Muslims cannot develop real love until they are acquainted with Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) via his Sirah.
Muslims all across the world profess their love for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and become furious when someone says something negative about him. All of that without knowing him. We may assume that if Muslims read his Sirah, the love in their hearts would definitely rise, and the entire scenario will change.

To Build a Better Muslim Identity

Seerah Of Prophet Muhammad study truly aids a Muslim in building an authentic Muslim identity. Studying the Seerah connects one to Islam and Muslims all around the world.
Seerah lifts our spirits and instills love in the hearts of the Muslim community all around the world. To put it another way, it inspires us to love and care for Muslims who live far from our current location.
To make the Prophet Mohammad’s Seerah a model for breaking out of our current state of darkness, Muslims must look beyond our obsession with his miracles and rituals.
We must shift our focus from his domestic life, as important as it is, to the difficult tasks and heavy burdens of the battlefields of Badr, Uhud, Khaybar, and Hunain. We must see him as a Messenger as well as a religious leader and a commander. Only then can he become both our “model” and the “greatest of exemplars.”

What are the characteristics of Prophet Muhammad?

The Holy Prophet continues to be a model of piety, love, devotion, and strength for all mankind, not just Muslims. His life, although being chronicled, is one of the most interesting and debated lives on the planet.
Many people continue to desire even the tiniest information about the life of the man known as Mohammed. So let’s reflect on some of his characteristics.
He was the most modest person on the planet. His humility is still one of his most inspiring qualities. According to a narrative, the Prophet once said:
“I will not give up five habits as long as I live: To eat sitting on the ground with slaves, to ride on a pony without a saddle, to a milch goat with my own hands, to wear coarse woolen cloths, and to greet children, so that it may become a popular habit after me and people follow suit”.
The Prophet Muhammad is said to have walked with his head down and his eyes fixed on the ground rather than the sky. He is reported to have walked with great strides and a faint somber aura, lowering his head as though descending from above.
Despite tremendous hate and backlash from the community, the Prophet stayed constant in his goal to be an example of patience, understanding, and tolerance in the beginning. According to the Prophet, he informed his friends and family members:
“Be lenient to the people in their affairs and do not be rigid; give hope to them and do not cause break up among them…Islam is a balanced religion, so be moderate in acting on its commandments”.
There are many examples of the Prophet’s characteristic of staying away from the riches or material goods of this world. One is such:
“The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said to Ali Ibn Abi Talib (MABPWH): ‘Take this amount and buy a shirt for me’. Ali (MABPWH) says: ‘I went to the market and bought a shirt for twelve dirhams’. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) looked at it and said: ‘A cheaper shirt would suit me better. O Ali! Do you think the shopkeeper will take it back?’”
The gentleness and tranquility of the Prophet Mohammed, as stated in the Holy Quran, is what made him so tremendously strong, and serves as a reminder to us all of the power of love, peace, and quiet strength.
“So (O Prophet!) it is owing to the great mercy of Allâh that you are gentle towards them. Had you been harsh, hard-hearted, they would have certainly dispersed from around you; hence pardon them and ask protection for them, and consult them in matters (of administration), and when you are determined (after due consultation), put your trust in Allâh. Verily, Allâh loves those who put their trust in Him.”
(Surah al-Imran)
It also has been said that the Prophet Muhammad would be up in prayer even in the middle of the night. One such story was when the Prophet’s wife found him sobbing in prayer, teaching us all the power of appealing to Allah for pardon.

You guys stay in your places; I’ll travel around the world and find out what happened. “
The devil traveled around the world and went to Madinah. “What happened last night?” he asked a man there.
And the man said: “The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: A verse from the treasures of the Throne was revealed and all the idols in the world crashed to the floor.”

Allah – there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence.
Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep.
To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth.
Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission?
He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills.
His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not.
And He is the Highest, the Most Great

Why is ayatul kursi so important?

Why is its place different from all other verses?
Because Ayatul Kursi contains very deep meanings and especially emphasizes the concept of oneness, that is, the unity of Allah, that there is no creator other than him.
It also describes the power and magnificence of Allah Almighty to us.
Ayatul Kursi contains the names of Allah in more than any other verse. The names of Allah are also mentioned in other verses, but this number is sometimes two, sometimes five, sometimes ten.
However, the name of Allah is mentioned 17 times in Ayat-al Kursi.
On the other hand, 6 of the attributes of Allah Almighty can be found in the Ayatul Kursi. The only verse in al Quran that contains 6 attributes at once is the Ayatul Kursi.
These attributes are Life, Knowledge, Power, Will, Oneness, and Originating.
The magnificence and the special status of this verse
Makes the chapter it occurs especially too
Because the topic is about Almighty Allah (SWT) unity as well as Almighty Allah (SWT) nature and attributes.
This makes the doctrine lofty and extremely important.
We should be on full guard in preserving and maintaining Allah’s transcendence and sovereignty.
In other words, we should be pondering about Tawheed and its implications.
Do we for example do anything that might compromise Allah’s sovereignty?
Or are we engaging in anything that might border on
Or infringe upon His right to be a Legislator or Lawgiver.
Pondering over Ayat-al Kursi should make us feel humbled Before the Majesty and Glory of Almighty Allah (SWT).
It should remind us of the sheer insignificant standing we have in comparison to Him
And how this alerts us to the unjustified character of our haughtiness,
Arrogance and pride in making ourselves the standard in all things whereas only He has the right to set standards.
Through Islam, you are going to have a much better understanding of Almighty Allah (SWT).
You will be capable of identifying Him as well as His role in your life.
Aside from that, you will also be capable of communicating with Him any time you choose.
Islam also assists an individual to know their roots as well as the reason why they are on earth.
This is because it provides great answers to different philosophical questions.
Loyalty to Almighty Allah (SWT)
Due to the first benefit of Islam, in which you have better knowledge of Almighty Allah (SWT),
Your allegiance, obedience, and loyalty will be to Almighty Allah (SWT) only.
You will undeniably put all your trust in Almighty Allah (SWT) and follow Him prior to following anyone else.

Surah Falaq Virtues And Lessons: The word “al-Falaq” in the first verse, a generic term referring to the process of ‘splitting’, has been restricted in most translations to one particular type of splitting, namely ‘daybreak’ or ‘dawn’.

al-Falaq

al Falaq meaning
It is imprisoned in hell called this name.
It is one of the names of Hell.
It is morning.
It is the creation and the meaning of the words: Say I seek refuge in Allah of creation.
It is correct in that to say: Allah, the Exalted, His praises, commanded His Prophet Muhammad, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him, to say: “I seek refuge in Allah of the dawn.” And it may be that there is a prison in Hell called Falaq.
And if that is the case, and the greatness of his praise was not an indication that he meant by saying: “By Allah of the dawn” some of what is called the dawn and not some,
and Allah Almighty was Allah of everything from his creation, then he must be concerned with everything called the dawn because he is Allah of all that

Arrange Two Surahs as part of your daily routine. and appreciate how Allah had mercy upon us by sending these two powerful weapons against jinn and evil eyes.
Abu Said Al Khudri (RA) reported: “The Messenger of Allah SAW used to seek protection against the evil of jinn and the evil eyes till Surah Al Falaq and Surah An Nas were revealed.
After they were revealed, he took to them for seeking Allah’s protection and left everything besides them.” [Riyad as Saliheen 1015]
Allah has warned us through Prophet Mohammad SAW by sending these Surahs, but sadly many of us don’t understand the involvement of evil jinns and evil eye in the destruction of human life.
These two threats evil jinns and evil eye, first impact a person’s mind and their spiritual health,
which ultimately manifests in the physical world in the form of unwanted events such as loss of health, business losses, relationship issues, and countless other problems.

6- safety from jealous persons

Jealousy is something everyone should stay away from as it not only hurts the person who becomes jealous but also the victim. Allah has specifically mentioned this threat in the last verse of Surah Falaq, empowering us to create a safe environment where we are not hurt by jealous souls.
Quran
Wa min sharri haasidin iza hasad
(I seek refuge) from the evil of an envier when he envies [Surah Falaq verse 5]

7- commanding control over evil suggestions

waswaasil khannas are a fraud of evil. any negative or evil information in the form of thoughts, ideas, and feelings that penetrate a person’s heart and mind from Satan and outside sources.
These negative thoughts and ideas, if not replaced with good positive thoughts suggested by Allah and His Prophet SAW, turn into delusion
Min sharril waswaasil khannas
Allazi yuwas wisu fi sudurin naas
From the evil of the sneaking whisperer who whispers into the hearts of mankind [An Naas verses 4-5]
If you are not alert and conscious, your mind can catch negative, evil, unproductive, and anti-life thoughts from Satan. If we are not protected through the remembrance of Allah, these negative.

8- Source of Cure and Safety From Sorcery

A narration states, whoever recites surah Falaq, will be a source of cure for him and safety from sorcery. In addition, it will be mercy from Allah and a means for maintaining health.
another narration states that whenever the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) felt pain in a part of his body, he would recite surahs Ikhlas, Falaq, and Nās to his right hand and then would stroke the part of his body that had pain.

9- Prevention of Nightmares

Whoever has disturbing dreams should recite surahs Falaq and Surah Nas as well as aytul kursi [verses 255-257 of surah Baqarah].
In conclusion, we learn that such a short and easily memorized surah can be a source of so many blessings.
By memorizing and reciting this surah, we will be protected from harms and evils that exist in our lives, Allah willing.

Why Was Surah Falaq Revealed?

Surah al-Falaq was revealed to help Muslims seek refuge in Allah by reciting it. The Prophet (PBUH) revealed in one Sahih hadith that
“Allah has revealed to me Ayat the likes of which have not been seen”
The Surahs he’s referring to are surah al falaq and surah an nas.
The hadith goes on to say that the Prophet suggested saying, “Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind…” (Surah An-Nas) all the way to the finish. “Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of Al-Falaq…” till the Surah ends.
Together, these two surahs are so strong that they have been given a specific name: “Al mu’awwidhatayn” (Arabic: ), which means “the verses of refuge.”
The potency of these surahs in repelling sorcery, evil eye, and other evils is considerable, and a slave’s need for Allah’s shelter from these two surahs is higher than his need for self, eating, drinking, and dressing.
According to certain accounts, Allah revealed these two Surahs when the Prophet was unwell as a result of some sorcery performed by his opponents with the Jewish plot in Madina.

When Was Surah Falaq Revealed?

Surah Falaq was most likely revealed at Mecca during the early days of Muhammad’s declaration of his Prophethood.
Between the years 610 and 618 AD.
There is significant disagreement since some Quranic scholars believe that this Surah was revealed at Madina.
However, Allah continued reminding the Prophet of other previously revealed Surahs whenever some occurrence or situation needed their repeat.

What is the meaning of Surah Falaq in English?

The Daybreak
Surah Falaq
(“The Daybreak”) is the 113th surah of the Quran. The word “al-Falaq” in the first verse, a generic term referring to the process of “splitting”, has been restricted in most translations to one particular type of splitting, namely “daybreak” or “dawn”

hadith on surah falaq

Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to seek protection against the evil of jinn and the evil eyes till Surat Al-Falaq and Surat An-Nas were revealed. After they were revealed, he took to them for seeking Allah’s protection and left everything besides them. [At- Tirmidhi].
Riyad As Salihin – [At- Tirmidhi].

RECITING SURAH AN NAAS AND FALAQ BEFORE GOING TO BED RECITING :

Narrated ‘Aisha:
Whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) went to bed every night, he used to cup his hands together and blow over it after reciting Surat Al-Ikhlas, Surat Al-Falaq and Surat An-Nas, and then rub his hands over whatever parts of his body he was able to rub, starting with his head, face, and front of his body. He used to do that three times.
Reference: Sahih al-Bukhari 5017
Imam Malik was told by Aisha (May Allah Be Pleased With Her) that if the Prophet of Allah was sick,
he would recite the Mu’awwidhatayn on himself and blow (over himself).
If his agony grew unbearable, Aisha agreed to recite the Mu’awwidhatayn over him, take his palm, and wipe it over himself, asking the blessing of those Surahs. This Hadith was reported by Al-Bukhari, Abu Dawud, An-Nasa’i, and Ibn Majah.
Aisha reported:
“Whenever the Prophet (PBUH) went to bed every night, he used to cup his hands together and blow over it after reciting Surat Al-Ikhlas, Surat Al-Falaq, and Surat An-Nas, and then rub his hands over whatever parts of his body he was able to rub, starting with his head, face, and front of his body. He used to do that three times.”
(Sahih al Bukhari)
Uqbah ibn Amr Al-Juhani reported that the Prophet (PBUH) said:
“Allah has revealed verses the like of which you have never seen: Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of the people (Surah an-Nas) and: Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak (Surah al-Falaq)”
(Sunan at-Tirmidhi)
Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri narrated:
“The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) would seek refuge from the devils and the evil eye of mankind until the two chapters of refuge (surah al-falaq and surah an-nas) were revealed, so when they were revealed he took both of them and left everything else.”
(Sunan at-Tirmidhi)

What Are Surah Falaq And Surah Naas Called?

Surah Falaq and Surah Naas are called al-Mu’awwidhatayn. They’re named so because their verses both begin with “Qul A’udzu bi-Rabbi.
” They are frequently advised for individuals seeking shelter in Allah and a method to avoid Shaitan and jealous people who want calamity on you.
Referring to these two linked short Surahs that begin with the line “Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of…”
These Surahs are so closely connected, with their contents so similar to one another, that they have been given the same name.
According to tradition, these Surahs were revealed simultaneously, thus their combined name of المعوذتان.
Surah Falaq describes seeking Allah’s Refuge From All Evil in All Creation. And Surah Nas instructs us to seek Allah’s refuge from the evil of all creation’s plots.

Virtues of Surah al-Falaq

While the mysteries and full knowledge of the words of the Holy Quran remain with Allah, here are but some of the virtues of this important surah that we may benefit from:

1- A reward equivalent to Hajj and Umrah

According to the Holy Prophet, whoever recites Surah Al-Falaq throughout the month of Ramadan during any of the prayers, it is as if they fasted in Mecca and would get the reward for doing both Hajj and Umrah.
With Hajj being one of the necessary pillars of our Islamic religion, we must attempt to grasp the significance of this statement – that the force of this surah is as potent as making the holy trip of Hajj.

2- The ability to recite all of the Books that Allah has revealed to humanity.

According to Prophet Muhammed (PBUH), reciting both this surah and the following (al-Nas) will be equivalent to reciting all the Books that Allah has revealed on this planet.
Although we may not completely grasp the enormity of this remark, it demonstrates how strong Surah Al-Falaq truly is.

3- To be read in the daylight and nighttime

This surah is reported to have been taught to the Holy Prophet’s companions to recite after waking up and before retiring to bed. This demonstrates the immense power and need of this surah, as we must always seek shelter from Allah both during the day and at night.

Surah al Mudassir in the Holy Quran

Surah Mudathir
Surah al Mudassir in the Holy Quran

Surah Mudathir is the Surah 74 of the Quran, with 56 verses (ayat). It can be found in juz twenty-nine. Surah Mudathir has 256 words in total, 193 distinct words without repetition, and 1,035 letters. It’s a Meccan Surah that was revealed to cover a variety of themes.
Surah Mudathir is split into chronological and thematic parts. This surah was most likely delivered at least twice and gathered retroactively.
Verses 1-30 and 32-56 are composed of short, poetic lines that follow the rhyme pattern and employ the Arabic rhetorical technique of parallel construction. This refers to the early Meccan era’s poetry.
Verse 31 stands out for its sentence structure, grammar, and length; it is easily the longest verse in this surah and indicates a considerable divergence from the rhyming pattern that precedes and follows it. This verse type is very common in later Medinan revelations.

When Was Surah Muddathir Revealed?

Surah Mudathir was revealed in the period of 610 – 614 AD. Many well-known scholars, including Ibn Kathir, regard Surat al-Muddaththir as the second surah given to the prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Citing the hadith:
“Jabir ibn Abd Allah said, I heard the Messenger of Allah – and he was narrating about the pause in Revelation – so he said in his narration: “I was walking when I heard a voice from the heavens. So I raised my head, and there was an angel, the one that had come to me at Hira, sitting upon a chair between the heavens and the earth.
I fled from him out of fear, and I returned and said: “Wrap me up! Wrap me up!” So they covered me. Then, Allah, Most High revealed: “O you who are wrapped up! Arise and warn.” Up to His saying: “And keep away from the Rujz!” before the Salat was made obligatory.”

(Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, at-Tirmidhi, Musnad Ahmad Ibn Hanbal)

Why Was Surah Al Muddathir Revealed?

Allah SWT commands Muhammad, who was wrapped in clothing because he was extremely cold as a result of the enormous shock of his first revelation, to rise and warn people. This is a popular opinion among scholars since they believe it was the second Surah to be revealed.
Allah ordered him to cleanse himself and stand up to the task of warning his people, including the mention of Saood and Saqar (places of terrible punishment in hell), as well as the rewards and punishments in paradise and hell.
Allama Tabataba’i states in his Quran exegesis, al-Mizan, that according to numerous hadiths, verse 11 of Surah Mudathir and its following verses were revealed regarding al-Walid b. al-Mughira.
“Leave Me Alone (to deal) with whom I created Alone, And then granted him resources in abundance. And children to be by his side! And made life smooth and comfortable for him! After all that he desires that I should give more; Nay! Verily, he has been stubborn and opposing Our Ayat I shall oblige him to (climb a slippery mountain in the Hell-fire called As-Sa’ud, or to) face a severe torment!
Verily, he thought and plotted; So let him be cursed! How he plotted! And once more let him be cursed, how he plotted!
Then he thought; Then he frowned and he looked in a bad-tempered way; Then he turned back and was proud; Then he said: “This is nothing but magic from that of old; This is nothing but the word of a human being!

(Surah al Muddathir 11-25)
People from the Quraysh convened at Dar al-Nudwa, and Walid, a knowledgeable and courteous man, pushed them to reach an agreement concerning the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The Quraysh tried to label him as a poet, a soothsayer, or insane, but al-Walid b.
al-Mughira argued that none of these descriptions fit him because Quranic verses do not resemble poetry, soothsaying, or insanity.
He favored the term “magician” for the Prophet (PBUH).
When the Quraysh departed Dar al-Nudwa, they began referring to the Prophet (PBUH) as a magician whenever they encountered him. The Prophet (PBUH) was depressed, and then Surah al-Muddaththir verses eleven to twenty-five were revealed.

Surah al Muddathir English Translation

  2. Arise and warn!
  3. And magnify your Lord (Allah)!
  4. And purify your garments!
  5. And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)!
  6. And give not a thing in order to have more (or consider not your deeds of Allah’s obedience as a favor to Allah).
  7. And be patient for the sake of your Lord!
  8. Then, when the Trumpet is sounded
  9. Truly, that Day will be a Hard Day.
  10. Far from easy for the disbelievers.
  11. Leave Me Alone (to deal) with whom I created Alone (without any means, i.e. Al-Walid bin Al-Mughirah Al-Makhzumi)!
  12. And then granted him resources in abundance.
  13. And children to be by his side!
  14. And made life smooth and comfortable for him!
  15. After all that he desires that I should give more;
  16. Nay! Verily, he has been stubborn and opposing Our Ayat (proofs, pieces of evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.).
  17. I shall oblige him to (climb a slippery mountain in the Hell-fire called As-Sa’ud, or to) face a severe torment!
  18. Verily, he thought and plotted;
  19. So let him be cursed! How he plotted!
  20. And once more let him be cursed, how he plotted!
  21. Then he thought;
  22. Then he frowned and he looked in a bad-tempered way;
  23. Then he turned back and was proud;
  24. Then he said: “This is nothing but magic from that of old;
  25. “This is nothing but the word of a human being!”
  26. I will cast him into Hell-fire
  27. And what will make you know exactly what Hell-fire is?
  28. It spares not (any sinner), nor does it leave anything unburnt!
  29. Burning the skins!
  30. Over it are nineteen (angels as guardians and keepers of Hell).
  31. And We have set none but angels as guardians of the Fire, and We have fixed their number (19) only as a trial for the disbelievers, in order that the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) may arrive at a certainty [that this Qur’an is the truth as it agrees with their Books i.e. their number (19) is written in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)]
and the believers may increase in Faith (as this Quran is the truth) and that no doubts may be left for the people of the Scripture and the believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease (of hypocrisy) and the disbelievers may say: “What Allah intends by this (curious) example ?” Thus Allah leads astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none can know the hosts of your Lord but He. And this (Hell) is nothing else than a (warning) reminder to mankind.
  1. Nay, and by the moon,
  2. And by the night when it withdraws,
  3. And by the dawn when it brightens,
  4. Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities.
  5. A warning to mankind,
  6. To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by committing sins),
  7. Every person is a pledge for what he has earned,
  8. Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism);
  9. In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another,
  10. About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.),
  11. “What has caused you to enter Hell?”
  12. They will say: “We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers)
  13. “Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor);
  14. “And we used to talk about falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers.
  15. “And we used to belie the Day of Recompense
  16. “Until there comes to us (the death) that is certain.”
  17. So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them.
  18. Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition?
  19. As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys.
  20. Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey.
  21. Nay, every one of them desires that he should be given pages spread out (coming from Allah with writing that Islam is the right religion, and Muhammad has come with the truth from Allah the Lord of the heavens and earth, etc.).
  22. Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter.
  23. Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition,
  24. So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition from it!
  25. And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (Allah ) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives.

Surah Mudathir Tafseer

Verses 1-2

The Surah’s first topic is an exhortation to be self-sufficient. Verse 1 is about Muhammed (al-Muddaththir, or cloaked one). The second verse alerts Muhammad to a changing environment in which he is tasked with saving humanity.

Verses 3-7

Verses 3-7, then, are injunctions to Muhammad and whoever follows the righteous path of Allah SWT to preserve cleanliness, monotheism, humility, and patience in their own life. All of this is setting the stage for the rest of the message to be revealed.

Verses 8-31

The following Surah Muddaththir theme portion is a warning to unbelievers. This part recounts the rejection of Allah’s message and the agonizing repercussions.
Those who have not been appreciative for the bounty of Allah’s favor and have demanded more, ignoring Allah SWT’s signs and revelations, will be thrown into the Saqar. These names all allude to Hell’s searing fire.
This image of an unbeliever highlights the uniqueness of the duty of obeying Allah’s message: it is up to each individual man to save himself from Hell.
Verse 30 mentions nineteen angels who guard the abyss of hell; this intriguing detail is expanded on in the next verse, which is thought to be a Medinan interpolation.
Verse 31 decodes the mystery of the nineteen angels by depicting the number as a symbol of trust. True believers will not question it since it is Allah’s word, but those who Allah has “guided astray” will be disturbed by questions.

Verses 32-36

The next portion of Surah al-Muddaththir uses the concrete, visible physical world to demonstrate that the destruction that awaits the unbelievers will be equally real. It then returns to the subject of personal responsibility.

Verse 37-48

These verses explain the soul’s struggle in Saqar, as well as the decisions made by those who found themselves there. There will be no intercession for them; their eternal souls were condemned the moment they rejected Allah’s message.

Verses 49-56

Finally, the surah returns to the realm of the living to issue its final command. Verses 49-56 stress the critical need of people to fear and glorify Allah SWT and only Him.
After showing believers what happens to those who do not listen to the message, the surah concludes with a reminder that, in the end, Allah SWT controls the fate of all humanity and that no one will remember what Allah does not allow him to remember.

Surah Mudathir summary

Surah Mudathir has 56 verses divided into 2 Rukus/Sections. It takes its name from verse 1: ” يَا أَيُّهَا الْمُدَّثِّرُ,” (O you who covers himself [with a garment]) where the word “المدثر” meaning “The Enrobed” appears This Surah was revealed in Mecca during very early days of prophethood.
Narrated Jabir bin Abdullah Al Ansari while talking about the period of pause in revelation reporting the speech of the Prophet
“While I was walking, all of a sudden I heard a voice from heaven.
I looked up and saw the same angel who had visited me at the cave of Hira sitting on a chair between the sky and the earth.
I got afraid of him and came back home and said,
‘Wrap me .’ And then Allah revealed the following Holy Verses: ‘O you (i.e. Muhammad)! wrapped up in garments!’
Arise and warn (the people against Allah’s Punishment),… up to ‘and desert the idols.’ (74.1-5) After this, the revelation started coming strongly, frequently, and regularly.”
Surah Mudathir talks about self-preparedness for the coming hard work of the responsibility of prophethood. Then there is a warning for the unbelievers.
Who rejected the word of Allah, and warns humankind to fear and glorify Allah.
In this Surah is also the mention of Saood and Saqar (Places of severe Punishment in Hell) and about 19 Guards of Hell.
Then verse 31 explains the mystery of the nineteen angels by depicting the number as a trial of faith. Genuine believers will not question it,
as it is the word of Allah, and those whom Allah has led astray would be disturbed by doubts.

Why Was Surah Kausar Revealed?

Despite the fact that it is a brief surah, its meaning and message are enormous in importance and hope.
This Surah was revealed during a particularly difficult period in the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)
because it was during this period that the prophet’s enemies referred to him as Abtar, which means “cut off,”
because both of his male children from his wife Khadija (May Allah Be Pleased With Her) had died.
This was also the time when the Muslims were few in numbers and weak compared to the enemies of Islam.
Allah SWT revealed this surah to tell prophet Muhammad (PBUH) that He granted him a river in Jannah,
then told him that his enemies are the cut-off ones.
Anas (May Allah Be Pleased With Him) once narrated the incident in which the surah was revealed while the Holy Prophet was among them.
“In the meantime, He dozed; then He raised His head, smiling, according to some traditions,
the people asked what for He was smiling, according to others, He Himself told them that a Surah had just been revealed to Him.
Then, he recited surah kosar; then he asked the people whether they knew what Kausar was.
When they said that Allah and His Messenger had the best knowledge,
He said; It is a river which my Lord has granted me in Paradise.”

(Muslim)

What do you know about Prophet Nuh? And how many lessons do you think we get from Surah Nuh? Keep reading to know more about Surah Nuh themes, reason of revelation, and the lessons learned from the whole story.

What is Surah nuh?

prophet Nuh is the Quran’s seventy-first chapter (surah), and it has 28 verses (ayat). Surah Nuh is about the Islamic prophet Nuh, also known as Noah,
and his concern over his people from the Bani Raseb tribe ignoring the warnings given to them by Allah through Nuh.
Noah’s purpose was to warn his people, who had fallen prey to wickedness and evil. Allah SWT assigned Noah the task of preaching to his people,
encouraging them to forsake idolatry and worship only Allah. According to the Quran, Noah’s teaching and prophethood lasted 950 years.
Surah Nuh’s themes include belief in Allah, signs of Allah (the Earth, Sun, Moon), and punishment for denying Allah’s message.

Where was Surah Nuh revealed?

Surah Nuh was revealed in Mecca, which means that it was revealed while Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) was attempting to establish a Muslim community in Mecca.
Surah Nuh was intended to strengthen believers’ belief; it demonstrates that Nuh had problems dealing with the disbelievers of his day before Muhammad (PBUH).
Tanzil claims that it is the seventy-first surah that was revealed from the Quran. Surah Nuh was revealed following the sixteenth surah, An-Nahl, and before the fourteenth surah Ibrahim.

What does the Quran say about Noah?

Aside from the fact that Prophet Noah had a whole chapter telling his story, the Quran mentioned him in great positions.
He was praised by Allah among other prophets in multiple verses (ayah) of the Quran. In Surah al-Israa, Allah SWT said:
“O descendants of those We carried [in the ship] with Noah. Indeed, he was a grateful servant.”
He was mentioned along with other great Prophets of Allah in this verse too:
“Indeed, Allah chose Adam and Noah and the family of Abraham and the family of Imran over the worlds. Descendants, some of them from others. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.”
(Surah Ali Imran)
Apart from his story was also mentioned in other verses where Allah SWT shows how He bestowed His blessings on Nuh and his descendants for being the doers of good.
“And Noah had certainly called Us, and [We are] the best of responders. And We saved him and his family from the great affliction. And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth]. And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations. “Peace upon Noah among the worlds.” Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. Indeed, he was of Our believing servants.”
(Surah as-Saffat)
And said, ‘Never leave your gods and never leave Wadd or Suwāʿ or Yaghūth and Yaʿūq and Nasr.’1

What does the story of Nuh teach us?

Obedience to Allah

Prophet Nuh (PBUH) spent 950 years of his life urging the same people to believe in Allah without any inaction to obey Allah’s command to him.
He tolerated lots of abuse and harassment just to get those people to listen to what he has to say.

Using Dua when we’re desperate

After those 950 years of prophethood, the followers of Nuh were only 80 people. This made him desperate and lost faith in his wicked people.
When he felt that, he turned to Allah SWT and made Dua get him out of his misery.
“And Noah said, “My Lord, do not leave upon the earth from among the disbelievers an inhabitant. Indeed, if You leave them,
they will mislead Your servants and not beget except [every] wicked one and [confirmed] disbeliever.”

(surah nooh)

Allah never leaves His good servants

When Nuh turned to Allah SWT and made Dua never leave these wicked people on earth, Allah listened to him and gave him the final order to break free.
He ordered him to make a huge ship that will carry Nuh and his followers only to leave others to drown.
“And it was revealed to Noah that, “No one will believe from your people except those who have already believed, so do not be distressed by what they have been doing.
And construct the ship under Our observation and Our inspiration and do not address Me concerning those who have wronged; indeed, they are [to be] drowned.”

(Surah Hud)

Allah can give us wonders

Of course, no one took Nuh seriously when he started to make the ship. The place they were living in had no water bodies and the idea of the ship sounded bizarre.
Nuh’s people mocked him and said he lost his mind. They didn’t know it was one of Allah’s miracles.
“And he constructed the ship, and whenever an assembly of the eminent of his people passed by him, they ridiculed him.
He said, “If you ridicule us, then we will ridicule you just as you ridicule.”

(Surah Hud)
When Nuh was done making the ship, Allah ordered the skies to release its water.
A huge amount of rain flooded everything and only those who believed in Nuh survived, by the power of Allah’s miracles.
“[So it was], until when Our command came and the oven overflowed, We said, “Load upon it [i.e., the ship] of each [creature] two mates and your family,
except those about whom the word [i.e., decree] has preceded, and [include] whoever has believed.” But none had believed him, except a few.”

(Surah Hud)

surah nuh ayat 12 benefits

“And give you an increase in wealth and children and provide for you gardens and provide for you rivers.”
(Surah Nuh:12)
The ayat 12 in surah nooh is an extension of the previous ones where Allah SWT says:
“And said, ‘Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver. He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers”
(Surah Nuh:10-11)
The previous ayat basically showed the benefits of Istighfar. Allah promised us enormous gifts and blessings in money and family when we say “Astaghfirullah”.
Ask Allah to forgive you sincerely, and Allah will shower you with earthly benefits as you prepare for the blessings of the hereafter. You don’t have to request rain.
You don’t request the children or the money. In this world, you don’t have to beg for gardens and rivers. To obtain all of that, you must genuinely say “Astaghfirullah.”

Surah Nuh Summary

The Quran mentions Nuh’s prophethood in fragments in Surah Nuh. Nuh is Allah’s messenger. When Nuh saw the messages were not being received by the people,
he prayed to Allah, who had prepared to flood the Nuh village at a certain moment?
Allah instructed Nuh to warn the people about the impending flood. Allah sends down water from the heavens to validate Nuh’s word.
The flood was a sign of Allah’s kindness to the faithful in the Quran. It also symbolizes how Allah creates a new beginning for the world.
Because the disbelievers rejected Allah’s word and prophet Nuh, they were drowned in the huge flood.
Both Muhammad and Nuh’s lives are parallel throughout the duration of the revelation of this,
surah as they both struggled with people who won’t embrace the worship of one Allah.

The arrangement of several surahs in this group eventually brings the topic of warning to a close.

Abdullah bin Mas‘ud narrates that “whoever recites Surah al-Mulk every night, Allah will prevent the punishment of grave by this Surah”. According to another tradition,

Where Is surat al Mulk In The Quran?

What Chapter is surat al Mulk?

surat al Mulk is a chapter (Surah) 76 of the Quran. It falls into the last division of the Quran or the seventh one.
This division’s topic is “Warning the Quraysh leadership of the implications of the Hereafter and bringing good,
tidings to Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) of the dominance of the truth in Arabia.”

What Page Is surat al Mulk Located In The Quran?

surat al Mulk starts on page 562 until page 564 of al Quran al Kareem.

What Para Is surat al Mulk Located?

Surah Mulk is placed in the 29th para (juz) and it comes after Surah at-Tahrim and before Surah al-Qalam.
This Juz is called Juz Tabarak because of surat al Mulk that starts the first Ayah with the word “Tabarak.”

When Should You Recite surat al Mulk?

You should recite surat al Mulk when you lay down before you go to sleep. This is when Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to recite it. According to Aisha (May Allah Be Pleased With Her):
“Whenever the Prophet (PBUH) went to bed every night, he used to cup his hands together and blow over it after reciting Surat Al-Ikhlas, Surat Al-Falaq, and Surat An-Nas, and then rub his hands over whatever parts of his body he was able to rub, starting with his head, face, and front of his body. He used to do that three times.”
(Bukhari)

Surah Mulk recitation

Surah Mulk recitation before sleeping was also mentioned in another Hadith and how it protects whoever recites it. This was narrated by Abd-Allaah ibn Masood:
“Whoever reads Tabaarak alladhi bi yadihi al-mulk [i.e., Surah al-Mulk] every night, Allah will protect him from the torment of the grave. At the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) we used to call it al-maani’ah (that which protects). In the Book of Allah it is a soorah which, whoever recites it every night has done very well.”
(Narrated by Al-Nasa’i)
Whenever a section of al Quran al Kareem is advised to be read for a certain cause or at a given time,
we should obey that command as Allah’s SWT obedient servant in order to reap the benefits and rewards of it.
Maybe that’s why surat al Mulk was advised to be read at night.
Scientifically, if you want to develop a new habit that will be readily repeated,
it has been demonstrated that stacking the new routine with an existing routine assists so the activity may be quickly repeated.
So, if you try to read at night, it is a good thing.
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) also said about this Surah:
“Indeed there is a Surah in the Quran of thirty Ayat, which intercedes for a man until he is forgiven. It is [Surah] Tabarak Alladhi Biyadihil-Mulk.”
(Abu Dawud, at-Tirmidhi)

Surah Mulk Tafseer in English

تَبَارَكَ الَّذِى بِيَدِهِ الْمُلْك

Glorification of Allah and mentioning the Creation of Death, Life, the Heavens, and the Stars
Allah the Exalted glorifies His Noble Self and informs that the dominion is in His Hand. This means that He deals with all of His creatures however He wishes and there is none who can reverse His decree. He is not questioned concerning what He does because of His force, His wisdom, and His justice. For this reason, Allah says,

وَهُـوَعَلَى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

(and He is Able to do all things.) Then Allah says,

الَّـذِى خَلَقَ الْمَوْتَ وَالْحَيَـوةَ

(Who has created death and life) Those who say that death is an existing creation use this Ayah as proof because it is something that has been created. This Ayah means that He brought creation into existence from nothing in order to test the creatures. He examines them to see which of them will be best in deeds. This is similar to Allah’s statement,

كَيْـفَ تَكْفُرُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَكُنتُــمْ أَمْوَتًـا فَأَحْيَكُمْ

(How can you disbelieve in Allah Seeing that you were dead and He gave you life.) (2:28) In this Ayah Allah named the first stage, which is non-existence, “death.” Then he named the origin or beginning of existence, “life.” This is why Allah says,

ثُـمَّ يُمِيتُكُمْ ثُـمَّ يُحْيِيـكُمْ

(Then He will give death, then again will bring you to life ( on the Day of Resurrection)) (2:28). Concerning Allah’s statement,

لِيَبْلُوَكُـمْ أَيُّــكُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلاً

(He may test you which of you is best indeed.) it means best in deeds. This is as Muhammad bin `Ajlan said. It should be noted that Allah did not say “which of you does the most deeds.” Allah then says,

وَهُوَالْعَزِيزُ الْغَفُورُ

(And He is the Almighty, the Oft-Forgiving.) This means that He is the Almighty, the Greatest, the Most Powerful, and the Most Honorable. However, along with this He is Most Forgiving to whoever turns to Him in repentance and seeks His pardon after having disobeyed Him and opposed His commandment. Even though Allah is Almighty, He also forgives, shows mercy, pardons and excuses. Then Allah says,

الَّـذِى خَلَقَ سَبْـعَ سَموَتٍ طِبَـاقًا

(Who has created the seven heavens one above the other;) meaning stacked one on top of the other.
Are they connected to each other, meaning that they are in elevated ascension, some of them being stacked above others,
or separated with space between them There are two views concerning this, and the most correct opinion seems to be the latter as is proven in the Hadith of Isra’
(the Prophet’s Night Journey) and other narrations. Concerning Allah’s statement,

مَّا تَـرَى فِى خَلْقِ الرَّحْمَـنِ مِن تَفَـوُتٍ

(you can see no fault in the creation of the Most Gracious.) means, it (the creation) is done in a flawless manner,
and these are connected with each other so as to forms a straight level, having no disunion, conflict, inconsistency, deficiency, flaw, or defect. This is the reason that Allah says,

فَارْجِعِ الْبَصَرَ هَلْ تَرَى مِن فُطُورٍ

(Then look again. Can you see any rifts) meaning, look at the sky and pay close attention to it. Do you see any flaw, deficiency, defect, or rifts in it Ibn `Abbas, Mujahid, Ad-Dahhak, Ath-Thawri, and others said concerning Allah’s statement,
(Can you see any rifts) means, `do you see any defects O Son of Adam (mankind)’ In reference to Allah’s statement,

ثُمَّ اْرجِعِ البَصَرَ كَرَّتَيْنِ

(Then look again and yet again, ) Qatadah said, “It means (look) twice.”

يَنقَلِبْ إِلَيْكَ البَصَرُ خَاسِئًا

(your sight will return to you Khasi’,) Ibn `Abbas said that Khasi’ means humiliated. Mujahid and Qatadah both said that it means despised.

وَهُوَ حَسِيرٌ

(and worn out.) Ibn `Abbas said that this means it will be exhausted. Mujahid, Qatadah, and As-Suddi all said that it means breaking down fatigue that comes from weakness. Thus, the Ayah means that if you continuously looked, no matter how much you look, your sight will return to you.

خَاسِئًا

Khasi’due to the inability to see any flaw or defect (in Allah’s creation).

وَلَـقَدْ زَيَّــنَّا السَّمَآءَ الــدُّنْيَا بِمَصَـبِيحَ

And indeed We have adorned the nearest heaven with lamps, This refers to the stars which have been placed in the heavens, some moving and some stationary. In Allah’s statement,

وَجَعَلْنَهَا رُجُـومـاً لِّلشَّيَـطِينِ

and We have made them missiles to drive away from the Shayatin, The pronoun `them’ in His statement, “and We have made them” is the same type of statement as the stars being referred to as lamps. This does not mean that they are actually missiles, because the stars in the sky are not thrown. Rather, it is the meteors beneath them that are thrown and they are taken from the stars.

وَأَعْتَدْنَا لَهُمْ عَذَابَ السَّعِيرِ

We have prepared for them the torment of the blazing Fire. means, `We have made this disgrace for the devils in this life and We have prepared for them the torment of the blazing Fire in the Hereafter.’

We have adorned the near heaven with the stars. And to guard against every rebellious devil.
They cannot listen to the angels for they are pelted from every side.
Outcast and theirs is a constant torment. Except such as snatch away something by stealing,
and they are pursued by a flaming fire of piercing brightness. as missiles for the devils, and assigns for navigation.

New Muslims, and sometimes children, are frequently curious about the qualities and values of Surah al Fatiha and why it holds such a prominent place in Quran Kareem, and therefore in Islam. One often asked question is, “Is Surah Fatiha compulsory in salah (prayer)?”
Well, if you want to know more about the detailed answer, keep reading!

What is Surah Al Fatiha?

surah al fatihah (Arabic: سورة الفاتحة, IPA: [ʔal faːtiħah]) is the first surah (chapter) of quran kareem. It consists of 7 ayat (verses) with one hundred and thirteen letters,
which are a prayer for guidance and mercy.
But, why is this surah given the name Al-Fatihah? The literal translation of “al Fatiha” is “The Opening” or “The Opener”.
Since it’s the first chapter of the book, it’s called its opener.
The most widely recognized opinion concerning the surah’s origins is that it is a Meccan surah, according to Ibn Abbas and others,
but, some say it is either a Medinan surah or was revealed in both Mecca and Medina.
According to most narrators, al Fatiha was the first complete Surah given to Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
Ascertain scholars have argued that this chapter is a summation of the whole Quran, it seems to be an exact table of contents of the Quranic message.
When the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) promised a companion that he would teach him the most important chapter in Quran Kareem,
he read Surah Al Fatihah (Narrated by Abu Said Al-Mu’alla).

Surah Fatiha Benefits

  • It is a cure for diseases
A companion once recited surah al Fatihah over a scorpion bite, to which the Prophet responded to him saying
“How did you know it was a Ruqyah (cure)?”
(Sahih Al Bukhari)
According to some additional narrations, reciting this Surah 70 times on any area of the body that is in agony would cause the pain to disappear.
  • It prevents misguidance
This surah offers a prayer for protection from misguidance and Allah’s wrath. As a result, the heart is protected against tainted knowledge and bad intentions.
The passage also contains the hidden remedy for both of these diseases.
“You (Oh Allah) we worship and from You do we seek help”.
  • It completes our Salah
Salah (prayer) is invalid without reciting al Fatiha in every rakaat (unit). Ubadah bin As-Samit said that the Prophet of Allah (PBUH) said,
“There is no prayer for whoever does not recite the Opening of the Book.”
According to the commentary of Majma’ul Bayan, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) said that whoever recites Surah Fatiha,
that will receive the reward for reciting two-thirds ⅔ of the entire al Quran al Kareem,
as well as the reward equivalent to what would be gained by giving charity to all believing men and women all around the world.

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (May Allah Be Pleased With Him) from the Prophet (Peace And Blessings Of Allah Be Upon Him), who said:
“A prayer performed by someone who has not recited the Essence of the Quran during it is deficient (and he repeated the word three times), incomplete.”

Surah Fatiha Hadith

Surah al Fatiha was mentioned in the Prophet’s Hadith. Abu Hurayrah said that the Messenger of Allah said:
“Al-Hamdu lillahi Rabbil-Alamin is the Mother of the Quran, the Mother of the Book, and the seven repeated Ayat of the Glorious Quran.”
(At-Tirmidhi)
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said that Allah said in hadith Qudsi al Fatihah:
“Allah had said: ‘I have divided prayer between Myself and My servant into two halves, and My servant shall have what he has asked for’.
When the servant says : ‘Al-hamdu lillahi rabbi l-alamin’, Allah says: – ‘My servant has praised Me.’
says: ‘Ar-Rahmani ar-Rahim’, Allah (mighty and sublime be He) says: ‘My servant has extolled Me ,’
and what time he says: ‘ Maliki yawmi d-din’, Allah says : ‘My servant has glorified Me’ – and on one occasion He said: ‘My servant has submitted to My power.’
says: ‘Iyyaka na’budu wa iyyaka nastaeen’, He says: ‘This is between Me and My servant, and My servant shall have what he has asked for.’
And when he says: ‘ Ihdina s-sirata l- mustaqim, siratal ladhina an amta alayhim ghayril-maghdubi alayhim wala ad-dallin’,
He says: ‘This is for My servant, and My servant shall have what he has asked for.”

It’s the Surah 106 of al Quran al Kareem, consisting of only 4 verses (ayat) but holds a great position in the Quran. It is classified as a Meccan chapter,
which means it was revealed before Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and his Muslim companions moved from Mecca to Medina (the journey known as Hijra Nabawiyya).
What is the story behind Surah Quraish and what are the benefits we get from reciting it at specific times? Read on to know more.

What Does Surah Quraish Mean?

The Quraysh or Quraish is a mercantile Arab tribe that historically inhabited and controlled the city of Mecca and Kaaba.
The Surah was named “Quraish” because it was sent as a message to them, mentioning their name in the first verse.
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was born into the Quraysh tribe’s Banu Hashim clan.
The Quraysh were strong opponents of Muhammad (PBUH) until they converted to Islam in 630 AD.
This Surah talks directly about the Quraysh people and exhorts them to serve Allah SWT.

What Is The Story Of Surah Quraish?

Quraysh Tribe was one of the largest tribes to ever control Mecca.
Allah SWT has given them some benefits that He never bestowed upon any other group of people.
The Surah was revealed to remind them of these virtues and ask them to worship Allah SWT who was the reason for them all.
Umm Hani bint Abi Talib who reported that the Prophet, Allah bless him and give him peace, said:
“Allah has favored the Quraish with seven characteristics which He has never given to anyone before them and will never give to anyone after them”
These characteristics are:
  1. assumes guardianship of the Sacred House (al-Hijabah).
  2. One of them is appointed to the position of Caliph (al-Khilafah).
  3. granted the gift of prophecy.
  4. Someone among them is responsible for providing water to pilgrims (al-Siqayah) during Hajj.
  5. They were awarded victory over the elephant army (Al-Fil) that came to destroy Kaaba.

It exhorts the Quraysh Tribe, who reigned over Mecca, to serve Allah SWT, who had protected them,

Surah Quraysh is paired with the preceding surah, al-Fil, and reminds the Quraysh of Allah’s blessings bestowed upon them,
by giving them victory over an army of elephants sent to destroy them.
The Kaaba was essential to the lives of the Quraysh, serving as a pilgrimage site that brought in a lot of trade and prestige.
Surah Al-Fil tells how Allah protected the Kaaba from destruction, then Surah Quraysh refers to Allah as the Lord of the Kaaba whom they should worship.

When Should We Read Surah Quraish?

We should read Surah Quraysh daily after Fajr prayers, after Isha prayers, whenever we’re about to go on a trip, or whenever we feel troubled or afraid.

What is The Benefit of Reciting Surah Quraish?

Reading and recitation of surah Quraish have many benefits given by the power of Allah SWT. How about we reflect on some of them?
Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) said:
“The one who recites this Surah will get the reward of ten times the number of people performing Tawaaf and I’tikaf.”
(Majma al-Bayan)
Tawaaf is Kaaba’s circumambulation during the pilgrimage and i’tikaf is choosing isolation to worship Allah SWT,
and both are some of the greatest things a Muslim can do to please Allah SWT.
Surahs in al Quran al Kareem often give benefits related to their meanings and context.
Since Surah Quraish was sent down in terms of prosperity, safety in travel, safeguarding from fear, and relief from anything bad, its recitation often brings the same.
Therefore, some of Surah Quraish benefits include:
  1. To ward off the evil eye, sorcery, or dangerous adulteration in the food, it is read three times before eating meals, followed by Bismillah.
  2. recited often in a business or store, it attracts wealth and blessings.
  3. recited 11 times after Isha prayers, it works as relief from illness.
  4. When recited 70 times after Fajr prayers daily then dua is made to Allah SWT for provisions, it ends poverty and misery.
  5. Surah Quraish is often recited for travel safety.
  6. The recital of Surah Al-Fil and al-Quraysh in the obligatory prayers (Salah) is highly rewarded.
  7. If a kid is afraid, read it 41 times on the water and hand it to him, then his fears shall go away.

Do you know the nine benefits of Surah Muzzamil in the Quran? Keep reading to know more.

What Is The Meaning Of Surah Muzzammil?

Muzammil means “Wrapped One in Garment” or “Enshrouded One”. The Holy Quran uses this word to describe Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah upon him.
It’s said in the first verse of Surah Muzzammil, as Allah SWT addresses Prophet Muhammad (PBUH):
“O you who have wrapped up in your garments!”
followed by the actual order:
“Stand (to prayer) by night, but not all night,- Half of it,- or a little less,”

Where Is Surah Muzammil In Quran?

Surah Muzzamil is the seventy-third chapter (surah) of the Holy Quran containing 20 verses.
It starts on page 574 in Mushaf Sharif. Following the Jinn Surah and followed by surah al muddathir.

In Which Para Is Surah Muzammil?

Surah Muzammil in the 29th para (Juz) of The Holy Quran. This Juz is called Tabarak (Blessed is He [Allah]),
as the first ayah in this Juz is “Tabarak alladhi be-yadhi al mulk” in Surah Mulk.

When Was Surah Muzammil Revealed?

The two sections of this Surah were revealed at different times. The first part (1-19) is definitely a Makki (Meccan) Revelation,
as evidenced by its topic matter and Hadith traditions. While the second one (verse 20) is said to be a Madani (Medinan) revelation.

The First Section (1-19)

The tradition does not address when it was revealed in Makkah, but the internal evidence of the subject matter of this section helps in determining the era of its revelation.
This is how we know:-
  1. First, in it, the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) has been instructed to the effect: “Arise during the night and worship Allah so that you may develop the capability to shoulder the heavy burden of Prophethood and to discharge its responsibilities.”
  2. This demonstrates that this Command must have been delivered during the early era of the Prophethood when Allah was still preparing the Holy Prophet.
  3. It includes the Quranic message in it that the Quran be recited in the Tahajjud Prayer for half a night or so. This Command, by itself, indicates that by that time, at least a huge portion of al Quran al Kareem had been revealed that could be recited for that amount of time.
  4. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) has been encouraged to be patient in the face of his opponents’ excesses who have been threatened with torture.
This demonstrates that this section was revealed at a time when the Holy Prophet (PBUH) had openly begun spreading Islam and the resistance to him had grown active and powerful in Makkah.

The Second Section (Verse 20)

Although many commentators believe that the second section (verse 20) was also sent down at Makkah,
some other commentators believe it is a Madani Revelation that was sent down 10 years after the first section, which is supported by the subject matter of this section as well
For it includes fighting in the way of Allah, and certainly, there could be no doubt about it at Makkah;
it also contains the Command to pay the compulsory Zakat, and it is completely verified that the zakat was enjoined at Madinah at a particular rate and with an exemption limit (nisab).

Why Was Surah Muzammil Revealed?

Surah Muzammil, with its two sections, was revealed for several reasons. These reasons include:
  1. It directs Muslims towards spreading the Islamic message. In simple words, communicating and conveying Allah’s message to humanity and making it clear to the people why Allah SWT has sent us to this world.
  2. The second portion is made up of a longer verse. In this section, Allah commanded Muslims to pay the required zakat. The zakat limit (nisab) was established. And how, to accomplish this obligation, it is important to reach out to those in need.
  3. Later in the Surah, night prayer (Tahajjud) was also mentioned and emphasized. The benefits of night prayer and how it may alter a person’s life were explained to Muslims.

Surah Muzammil Tafseer

The First Section

Verses (1-7):
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) was commanded to “prepare yourself to shoulder the responsibilities of the great Mission that has been entrusted to you (prophecy);
its practical form is that you should rise during the hours of the night and stand up in Prayer for half the night, or for a little more or less of it.”
Verse (8-14):
Then he was encouraged to “devote yourself entirely to that Allah Who is the Owner of the entire universe.”
“With complete heart joy, entrust all your affairs to Him. Keep your calm no matter what your opponents say about you.
Don’t go too close to them. Leave their issue to Allah; He will deal with it.”
Verses (15-19):
Those in Makkah who were fighting the Holy Prophet (PBUH) had been informed, so as to say: “We have sent a Messenger to you, just as We did to the Pharaoh.
Consider what happened to Pharaoh when he refused the invitation of Allah’s Messenger.
How will you spare yourself from the punishment for unbelief on the Day of Resurrection if you are not punished by anguish in this world?”

The Second Section

Verse (20):
The new command later included “Offer as much of the Tahajjud Prayer as you easily can,
but what the Muslim should particularly mind and attend to is the five times obligatory Prayer a day,
which they should establish regularly and punctually; they should discharge their zakat dues accurately,
and they should spend their wealth with sincere intentions for the sake of Allah.”
Finally, Muslims were encouraged, stating, “Whatever good acts you accomplish in the world will not go to waste,
but they are like the provision which a traveler sends up ahead of time to his permanent place of residence.”

Surah Muzammil Translation in English

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
  1. O thou folded in garments!
  2. Stand (to prayer) by night, but not all night,-
  3. Half of it,- or a little less,
  4. Or a little more; and recite the Qur´an in slow, measured rhythmic tones.
  5. Soon shall We send down to thee a weighty Message.
  6. Truly the rising by night is most potent for governing (the soul), and most suitable for (framing) the Word (of Prayer and Praise).
  7. True, there is for thee by day prolonged occupation with ordinary duties:
  8. But keep in remembrance the name of thy Lord and devote thyself to Him whole-heartedly.
  9. (He is) Lord of the East and the West: there is no god but He: take Him therefore for (thy) Disposer of Affairs.
  10. And have patience with what they say, and leave them with noble (dignity).
  11. And leave Me (alone to deal with) those in possession of the good things of life, who (yet) deny the Truth; and bear with them for a little while.
  12. With Us are Fetters (to bind them), and a Fire (to burn them),
  13. And a Food that chokes, and a Penalty Grievous.
  14. One Day the earth and the mountains will be in violent commotion. And the mountains will be as a heap of sand poured out and flowing down.
  15. We have sent to you, (O men!) a messenger, to be a witness concerning you, even as We sent a messenger to Pharaoh.
  16. But Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger; so We seized him with a heavy Punishment.
  17. Then how shall ye, if ye deny (Allah), guard yourselves against a Day that will make children hoary-headed?-
  18. Whereon the sky will be cleft asunder? His Promise needs must be accomplished.
  19. Verily this is an Admonition: therefore, whoso will let him take a (straight) path to his Lord!
  20. Thy Lord doth know that thou standest forth (to prayer) nigh two-thirds of the night, or half the night, or a third of the night, and so doth a party of those with thee. But Allah doth appoint night and day in due measure He knoweth that ye are unable to keep count thereof. So He hath turned to you (in mercy): read ye, therefore, of the Qur´an as much as may be easy for you. He knoweth that there may be (some) among you in ill-health; others traveling through the land, seeking of Allah´s bounty; yet others fighting in Allah´s Cause, read ye, therefore, as much of the Qur´an as may be easy (for you); and establish regular Prayer and give regular Charity; and loan to Allah a Beautiful Loan. And whatever good ye send forth for your souls ye shall find it in Allah´s Presence,- yea, better and greater, in Reward and seek ye the Grace of Allah: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
