As-Salaam alaikum,
The Noble Messenger of Allah, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, said :--
"The one who honors an elderly Muslim, Allah will appoint someone that will honor him when he becomes old." (Sunan Tirmidhi).
Thus whoever respects an elderly Muslim only because he is old (thinking) his worships are greater than mine and he was a Muslim before me, then he will witness in the world that the people will respect him when he grows old.
