Praise be to Allah (The Glorified and Exalted).
The following are a few self-defence tips, especially to be used by women or children.
1) When someone grabs your forearm and attempts to forcefully drag you away with them, clinch your fist (with the thumb on the outside) and twist your forearm and pull away against the other person's thumb.
For example, if the person grabs your right forearm, then clinch your right fist and then twist and simultaneously pull your forearm away in the direction against the other person's thumb. If his thumb is near your body, then pull inwards toward your body. If his thumb is pointed away from your body, then pull your forearm away from your body against the person's thumb. The logic is that it is easier to resist one thumb rather than four fingers.
2) If a person grabs you and you cannot overpower them, then don't resist and move quickly in the direction of the person and kick them in the groin with your shin, with force.
3) When a woman or child is stalked, grabbed or harassed in public by a man or woman, then yell for help by saying, "Help me, I don't know this person!" It is important to make it clear that you don't know the other person, or else people will think it is a domestic affair between spouses or family members.
I recommend carrying pepper spray or a taser, if you can afford it.
If you have other self-defense tips, post them below.
