I am bored and I thought I would share my first Qur'an with the TTI community. I take this Qur'an with me everywhere. It fits perfect in my purse:) What is your most cherished Qur'an?

I did not realise the attachment would come out so huge. So I apologize...

What was your first Qur'an?

hmmm good question but i dont think i remember things from the golden good old days :)

I have three different Qur'an

Tafsir one by ibn khathir in English and one in My own language

and the one in Arabic :)

I cherish them all but i prefer the tafsir one because it's easy to memorise the quran in arabic if you know the tafsir [is like telling a story or about an incident but reciting it in Arabic] subhanallah.

I may have to look into the one you said the Ibn Khathir. I saw one with tafsir at the masjid, but I am afraid to ask the Imam if I could borrow it. The bookstores are limited where I am at.

Good question lol. I guess to me the first one you owned. I love my friend's Qur'an because of the beautiful script and gold leaf. I guess I should of elaborated on the question.

I added my photo by using the Manage attachments section below the post box...Just click manage attachments and then a box pops up. There you will see "browse"...click browse and it allows you to go through your documents/pictures. Click upload and the file will automatically upload to the post. Just submit reply and you are done.

JazakAllah khair sis. I saw that option just now. But I cannot do it now as I don't have the picture of my quran. Insha Allah, I will scan and try to upload it.

Asalaamu'Alykum,

Nice Thread.

Well the first Qur'an i started with belonged to my brother, i took it off him, as i was really interested what was inside it. It was a grey colour and the pages inside were like light green. Another good thing was it had footnotes for Hadiths from Sahih Al-Bukhari and Tafsir from Ibn Kathir. Which helped me very much. Alhamdulilah. The special thing is also, when i was reading through Qur'an. every time i came across a page that really had an effect on me, i just marked the page, i.e folded the page a little. SubhanAllah, just to tell you there is many.

I really love it, because i look back this was the first Qur'an i opened up, i didnt understand some words, although it increased my knowledge and improved my vocab. I love it very much and Insh'Allah its going to stay with me.

Then i moved onto a Arabic, Transliterated and Translation of the Qur'an, although shortly afterwards, i relised about Tajweed. So i purchased a Tajweed Qur'an with same features. Pictures attached, although they are from the website i purchased them from, if i can borrow someone's phone, i will take some pics.

I only use the Tajweed Qur'an and the first English Translation Only Qur'an.

:)

Alhamdulilah

Wasalam

Well, my first one was a Qur'an in Italian. Translated by Hamza Piccardo.

But after that one I decided to get the one English/Arabic. Easier for me to read and understand and also much more useful for the match of both languages :mashallah:

My first Qur'an was the translation with commentary by Yusuf Ali. I accidentally bought two of them from Amazon.com's recommendation "better together" deal. I'm really glad I read all the commentary. I wasn't Muslim when I bought it but by the time I finished reading it I knew I needed to convert. Allahu Akbar! :tti_sister:
