Assalamu alaikum everyone

How is Ramadan going so far?

well I been thinking of becoming a vegetarian, not because of animal cruelty or anything but more sooo because I have bad acne or my skin shows the signs of once having bad acne and I met one vegen about two weeks ago and one vegetarian today. And all I think was they had flawless skin. I mean it was gorgeous and I can sometimes feel very self consience about myself. I love eggs and cheese to much right now to give it up completely so I am want to do it gradually plus in Islam Allah does not like transgressors or ppl who rush into something. So are there any vegetarians on here.

Love you all for sake of Allah

Right now I am going to just test it, see how I feel and compare my skin after 90 days

I will keep you guys and gals posted

Personally I used to have bad skin until I reached college..Now I am all good :) I believe that a person should have some meat in their diet like chicken or what not. There are some essential things we get from meat that we cannot get from just veggies and fruit alone.

But hey if you want to see how it works out, I will support you :)

Also I have been to the dermatologist too much as a teen and he never said anything about cutting out meat. He just tried to show me gentle cleansing products and how to unclog pores. If it is that severe try getting a topical cream. But with anything like meds, diet, and face washes..it takes up to 4 weeks to see results :) Be patient.

Just start to eat more fruits and veggies..cut out the soda, limit red meat or just eat 4 ounces of any meat or fish at night. I found that eating more veggies and fruits aka fiber really helps your insides and out.

I was also reading an article that acne is genetic. They havent fully mapped it out but people with family members that had acne have children that are predispositioned to have a higher chance of acne.

Sorry I am stop blabbing now because I can go on and on about skincare. Also there is a sister here who knows a lot about skincare :)

I found this on Islamqa for you :)
Question:
I'm vegain, I mean I do not eat any meat product or dairy from milk , eggs, cheese , or honey , any think that have to do with animal I just I don't eat it, and the thing that I like the religion of the Islam I would like to be a part of it , so my question can I be a Muslim and still don't eat meat and animal product ? Thank you so much

Answer:

Praise be to Allaah.

Yes, you can be a Muslim without eating these animal products, but you need to be aware of the following:

You should not think that these things are haraam (forbidden), because Allaah says (interpretation of the meanings):
“O you who believe! Make not unlawful the tayyibaat (all that is good as regards foods, things, deeds, beliefs, persons, etc.) which Allaah has made lawful to you, and transgress not. Verily, Allaah does not like the transgressors.” [al-Maa’idah 5:87]

“Say: who has forbidden the adornment with clothes given by Allaah, which He has produced for His slaves, and al-tayyibaat [all kinds of lawful things] of food? Say: they are, in the life of this world, for those who believe, (and) exclusively for them (believers) on the Day of Resurrection (the disbelievers will not share them). Thus We explain the aayat (Islamic laws) in detail for people who have knowledge.” [al-A’raaf 7:32]

“Say: Tell me, what provision has Allaah sent down to you! And you have made of it lawful and unlawful. Say: Has Allaah permitted you (to do so), or do you invent a lie against Allaah?” [Yoonus 10:59]

You should not think that it is better to abstain from these foods, or that doing so will be rewarded, or that a vegetarian is closer to Allaah than others, and so on. It is not permitted to draw closer to Allaah in this way. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), who is the best of mankind and the closest to Allaah, used to eat meat and drink milk and honey. When one of his Companions wanted to give up meat, he told him that this was wrong. Anas reported that there was a group of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), one of whom said, “I will never marry women”; another said, “I will not eat meat”; another said, “I will not sleep on a bed”; and another said, “I will fast and never break my fast.” News of this reached the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). He praised and thanked Allaah, then said: “ What is wrong with the people who are saying such and such? I pray and I sleep; I fast and I break my fast; and I marry women. Whoever deviates from my Sunnah (way) does not belong to me.” (Reported by al-Nisaa’i; the story is also to be found in the two Saheehs of al-Bukhaari and Muslim).

There is a great difference between not eating a certain kind of food because one does not like it, or it does not agree with one, or one has been put off – for example by seeing an animal slaughtered when one was a child, which may leave one with a distaste for meat – and other similar reasons, and thinking that meat is haraam and that abstaining from it is an act of worship, as is done by Brahmins, monks and others who are misguided.

Once this matter is clear in your mind, there is nothing wrong with not eating foods that you do not like. We will be happy to welcome you soon as our sister in Islam. We ask Allaah to give you the strength to do good and to protect you from every evil. Allaah is the One Who guides to the Straight Path.

I had very bad skin for being a smoker for over 8 years, but alhamdullah I quite without any difficulties. I use Ginger which really changed my health in matter of weeks subhanallah. ( Cut ginger in too pieces, add some water, boil it (as if you making tea), then leave it to get colder, the ginger and the water in an empty bottle of water and put it in the fridge to get a bet colder. Drink at least 3 cups, specially after meals, as it helps the digestive system, and you will notice the difference within days. You'll feel lighter, flexiable, no stomach ache, specially in the month of ramadan when many people consume large amount of food at once, without giving the stomach early warnings.

For a better facial skin, apply honey to the face, and leave it for 10 mintues, then rinse it with cold water, or, eat raw tomato or, salad, or at least 7 dates a day, and consume 2 litres of water daily. Lots of protien lead to digestive problems, specially for males who consume protiens products for gaining muscles and mass.

salaam,

Yes, it's allowed. I know a lot of Muslim vegetarians too. With the cost of halaal meat in some places, it's cheaper and easier to be a vegetarian or an "almost vegetarian." Just make sure you're replacing the nutrients lost with the meat with something else and stay healthy.
