1.4 million Muslims? No way. It's more like 14 million. I bet that most, if not all of the 11.8 million who refused to say what their religion is are Muslims ;)

You can't assume that... Why would 11.8 million people refuse to say they're Muslim??? That makes absolutely no sense...

I have just read an article or some of it, that a lot of people I think in the United States are saying that they have no religion at all. I think it was one the news as well, but I don't watch TV someone just told me. But Alhamdullilah, Islam is growing, and may it continue to grow. And May Allah grant us victory over the disbelieving people in these hard times and unify the Muslims Ameen!

Salaam,

Yeah I would bet that right too. The number is significantly off. What are they talking about? That was probably the number for 1950. I bet today California alone has 1 million Muslims. The 1991 World Almanac alone predicted 5.2 million Muslim in the United States. Newsweeks in 2008 stated there are 7-8 Million Muslims and CAIR estimated 6-7 million in 2001.

The numbers of reverts to Islam is increasing at an alarming rate in the U.S. However, in the end none of this matters to us, because Allah swt does not need anyone. He is self-sufficient and free of all needs. It is we that need God.

Yea i was just going to point that out like WOW,
brothers and sisters, we got to stop being embarrassed of being muslim (ive seen alot of ppl being scared to admit they are muslim) and start telling people about the wonderful book Quran, and inshallah we can guide many cuz they are looking for reason and logic which they didn't find in their own religion but alot of it is found in Islam ALhumdulilah, so we should be good role models. :)

Now see what one of the leading news personalities is trying to promote:

FROM CNN’s Jack Cafferty:

More Americans are saying they have no religion — according to a wide ranging study done by Trinity College.

The survey shows 15 percent of those polled say they have no religion; that’s up from about eight percent in 1990. Northern New England and the Pacific Northwest are the least religious regions. And the number of Americans with no religion rose in every single state.

Organized religion seems to be playing a smaller role in many people’s lives. 30 percent of married couples say they didn’t have a religious wedding ceremony, and 27 percent say they don’t want a religious funeral.
Nonetheless almost 70 percent of those surveyed say they believe there is a God; and another 12 percent say they believe in a higher power but not the God of traditional organized religions.

Some suggest that the rise in evangelical Christianity is actually contributing to the rejection of religion by other Americans. The survey shows about one in three are evangelicals. The number of evangelicals is actually increasing while the number of Christians overall is declining.

Other findings include:
– The percentage of Catholics in the U.S. has remained steady since 1990.
– The percentage of Muslims has doubled since then but remains statistically very small.
– Mormons have remained steady as a percentage of the population.
– Finally, the number of Jews is falling if the category includes only those who define themselves as religious Jews.

Here’s my question to you: What does it mean when more Americans say they have no religion?

from: http://caffertyfile.blogs.cnn.com/
Now you see what they are trying to promote(via brainwashing). They are trying to lead people to believe that the trend is growing to no religion. So that the people feel it is the common trend and follow along.

But like dr. Zakir Naik says it is may be a lot easier to have a "person that doesn't believe there is any God", complete the shahada because they have half of it already agreed upon.

Salaam,

We may have a high conversion number, but I also hear that we have the highest number of people who leave Islam after converting. I would assume that the number one reason for this would be lack of support. This should be plastered everywhere so muslims can see how crucial it is to provide support to new muslims.

So very true, believing in God is as natural as breathing. There's a saying, "No one is an atheist in a foxhole", meaning when anyway is in a dangerous situation they say, "Oh my God" or "Please God help us." Even Allah says it in the Qur'an in numerous chapters, especially in Surah Al-Fajr, when He (SWT) says, when He gives them out of His provisions they say my Lord honored me, but when He withholds it, they says my Lord has forsaken me or humiliated me, or in other chapters it says that they return to their false deities. Astagfirullah. So, It was born in us, to believe that there is a God, but people only differ until after knowledge come to them. MashaAllah.

US Muslim population 1.4 million only????
A very conservative estimate is 6 million. So how this is possible. This report is not credible.

Also there are so many Hindus who have come from India, they are also in millions. But there is no mention of them in the report.

Salam Aleykom sister, I agree that new Muslims need help and support but I never heard of the "highest" number of people who leave after conversion but of course there is a Christian propaganda video that claims so on youtube but it is just as funny as the supposed 6 million African Muslims converting to Christianity every year lol. It's a joke for real. I have never met a Muslim in my life who reverted and then left the deen and reverts actually would be the least to do so because we do not revert for people but for our own success. This a lie and don't believe that. I been to so many masjids in my area(Atlanta) and many of those who attend are reverts and been Muslims for 10, 15, 20 years. More people embrace Islam then any other religion and I mean real embracing due to finding truth and not propaganda, marriage, greencards, cash or education. Christianity is unable to keep ppl at home to stay in the religion so they turn to the 3rd countries and hope to manipulate the ignorant and desperate people.

May Allah guide us all, ameen.

Salaam,

We need to reflect. Most non-middle class US citizens do not even allow the census man to walk into their homes. The numbers are like everything else flawed. Why. The numbers are not accurate nor precise. They are a random number. Remember a couple of months back when they needed a number for the banks bailout they pulled a number out of a hat..same thing here.

Muslims make up at least 3% of the population. Go figure it out.

They will always want to make our numbers short. Unless they are killing Mulsims and then the number are enormous.

As for the number who leave Islam..they were not believers to begin with.
Islam has a single purpose: to worship our Creator in the manner that He wishes us to worship Him. And He has no need of us...that is the most important thing to remember.

Salaam,

When it is put like this... I realize you are so right. I've gotten into discussions with friends about how it's such a wonder sometimes that people convert to Islam due to the way so many muslims in this world behave, and not just talking about the stereotypes of terrorists, but the divisions in community and also how governments are run, financial situations, etc. The true believers of Islam will stick to it not because of the support from people but from the support of Allah.
