Salaam Alaikum,

Alhamdulillah. It seems you have extended your family (ie made new friends) here and its only natural to think of leaving them in the dark should something happen to you. Whats more important inshaAllah is that through this you have remembered death and it is something that you should continually do so. It is a principle in Islam that whatever benefits something that benefits, is itself beneficial (bare with me!).
Remembering death benefits us as it brings us closer to Allah. Visiting a grave helps us remember death, thus visiting graves is considered to be beneficial.

In this case remembering those who you may leave behind is inshaAllah beneficial as it ultimately causes you to ponder about yourself and the legacy you wish to leave behind. In short, no i do not think it is wierd.

The Prophet (pbuh) commanded us to remember death frequently. In a hadith recorded by Bukhari, he said: "In the evening, do not anticipate the morning, and in the morning do not anticipate the evening..."
In another hadith he said, "Remember frequently the thing that cuts off pleasures [death]".

I recall in a lecture i once heard, the speaker talked about flying on a plane going through some bad turbulence. When it happens, a sombre, sorrowful mood takes over the look on people's faces. Everyone is quiet and an eerie atmosphere resonates along the rows. He then asked: "what is the difference between that moment in life and every other moment we go through? Nothing, except in one there was a reminder of death".

well, I thought about that, but then they will be so shocked some of them might not have the ability,or what if I forgot to tell(a sudden death). It's soo in my mind today.SubhanaAllah, I guess we all have to forgive each other before our time comes:D and inshaAllah, we can just sense it when someone doesn't answer pm and V.massages.SubhanaAllah, that would be weird! Ya Rab, walahi I cannot take this thought of my head:angryblue:

Asslam'u Alikum,

Interesting question, sister!
How would our TTI family know? Hmmm, Right now I have no sure idea. It's quite difficult to tell cos Allah knows only! May be if I have natural death then I'll advice someone to post it up here or may be I will right it up here myself, if the health would permit. NOW the moment I just wrote the last sentence one thing just bugged me for a sec; how strange would it feel writing some post like that on the fourm that I am going to die!!

Now we are on the topic, does anyone know is sudden death kinda bit evil thing? I mean like there is no Barakah in that as compared to natural death or in a war zone when one knows that they might die? Should one pray for natural death or it just doesn't matter at all?

Jazak Allah brother mufakkir for your amazing views on the topic, it's been benefitial to me.

It'll not be so easy moments of one's life writing some announcement like that! But yeah Alhamdulillah we are sure it's going to come one day, one way or other. May Allah have His Mercy on us all.

It's okay, we'll both wait for some knowledgeable person's reply on that, Insha'Allah.

I am sorry sis sleep overtook me but sister palestine beat me to the punch lol and i wouldnt consider it weird i would consider it very thoughtful and reflective that some one would think to share the death with those brothers and sisters they love so much, thats better than disappearing into thin air and meeting judgement day if we met Allah knows best :)

This thread has really made me think mashallah reflecting on death is what a believer should do because the end is where we will all meet our Lord :hearts:

I love you all for the sake of Allah.:hijabi:
