Why Should I Convert to Islam

assalamaulikum to everyone.it has been a while being a member of tti and it gave me a great chance for da'wah and am very thankful to Allah for that,Alhamdulilah.

here i just would like to write out some of my thoughts to those who hesitate to convert.

many people(non-muslims) have the bad idea about converting to islam.
Islam means SURRENDER.it means u surrender yourselves to Allah The Almighty and The Only Creator of the Universe.

when u convert to Islam,it means you are surrendering yourselves to Allah and you are obeying Him.

of course many have their own way of lives, cultures and so and so.can we change ourselves in overnight?
i myself had my own culture,my own way of life which was too westernise (and which people are afraid to give up though) yet i GAVE UP these life for the sake of Allah.

before islam,i was forced to convert to christianity yet i just don't want to convert to christianity.i know islam and christianity since very young.yet islam is was the one very close to my heart.and Allah was the only one i was afraid of even before islam

islam is basically A WAY OF LIFE.it teaches u how u should live ur life and how u should please ur Master and get rewards from Him

1st example

when u have children, the parents mold their kids the way they want them to be.u raise ur kids they way u want.

2nd example

when u create a machine /products/recipies,only the creator(which is the human) only knows how these things functions.so u must tell about ur products functions in a manual booklet.whenever u buy a computer for example, there is always a manula booklet for u and it is in many languages

same goes here.Allah as our Master mold us the way He wants and He mentioned and ordered us to live our lives according to His "Manual booklet" called Quran.and we have the translation of Quran in many languages.Only Allah knows how we should live and please Him

Allah has mentioned everything clearly in Quran and the hidden meaning of it has been translated by scholars.so it is impossible for someone to say that"i dont understand quran."

i have always want to ask this questions to non muslims.
why is it that,u always choose the best thing in ur life such as the best cloths, the best schools, the best university, the best partner yet why do u fail to choose the best religion for urselves?

when we love someone, aren't we usually give up certain things for that person?why can't you give up certain things for Allah who provides everything to u.He gives u life,He gives u shelter,He gives u food,He gives u rezk,He gives u partner,He gives u children and ......(infinity)

yet all He asked is to obey Him and only to worship Him.

we obey our mother coz she gave birth to us and raised us.and we are always sensitive about our parents coz they did too much for us.

what about Allah?
without Allah u wouldn't even be born and have parents and u couldn't even see the world.

those obey Allah and believe in Him and His messenger will have a happy life in hereafter in jannah and for those disbelievers He promised hell fire.

life is not a bed of roses but jannah is a bed of roses.entering jannah is not easy at the same time it isn't difficult.

before exam we have to scarifice many things-tv,music,friends,entertainment,sleep.....just to get flying colours in exam.

similar goes to islam
we must sacrifice everything that has been forbidden in islam to enter jannah.

THINK ABOUT IT

p/s thanx for reading.May Allah opens ur heart to islam.ameen

Revert,

First, I think you are a nice person. HOWEVER, constantly private messaging me the second I come onto this website (which is a bit stalkerish) about converting is too much. It is not forcing me to make a decision any faster OR wanting me to convert Islam at all.

In other words: BACK OFF!

I'm not trying to intrude on anyone's business or anything but I think that might have been better said in a PM. Seems a bit harsh to have this seemingly private issue thrown into the middle of a thread. I'm sure Revert is only trying to help ya out

Actually, it does not.

Should I convert, I would still think the same way about what you have done.

All it is is bullying. That's not what Islam is about.

Forcing people to convert by constantly sending them passages from the Quran saying that they either convert or go to the Hell-Fire is NO BETTER than Christian Fundamentalists who say either believe in Jesus or go to Hell.

A Muslim's duty is to "Inform"............ not more than that. Guidance is ultimately from Allah. Enforcement may create -ve results.

Prophet of Allah SAW has been informed many times by Allah "That your job is just to convey the message. You can not make people's heart to return". It is only Allah who controls the hearts and guidance is from HIM alone.

Eagerness of the people involved in dawah is understandable.... we no doubt want to save mankind from fire BUT but these people (involved in Dawah) must have some qualities developed in themselves and most important of them is "PATIENCE" "PATIENCE" "PATIENCE".

AND

NEVER EXPECT RESULT OF YOUR EFFORT.....NEVER EXPECT....

I had been to a course on Dawah Power some time ago. It was delivered by Kamal El makki who is known for "Dawah". I should go through again notes of that course and post some points of benefits from there. One thing I remember Sheikh mentioned was that "A very big reason of people going back (after converting) or not converting is MUSLIMS themselves. Pls avoid too much advise "It creats confusion and doubts and unfortunately it cause many people go back".

I would also suggest that those people who are involved in Dawah, they should try to train themselves by watching vidoes of those people who are successful and known for inviting people to Islam .... learn techniques of developing effective communication, patience, calmness and no expectation.

I hope I did not annoy anyone. May Allah put barakah in the efforts which everyone is doing for the sake of Allah. May Allah show us the results of our efforts so that we can put more efforts.......... Ameen

you can say whatever u want and u cant stop me from spreading the word of Allah.as long as ur on tti,all the members on tti and myself will do what Allah asked us to do.i am a revert myself and do u think i dont know that we cant be forced?give me a break

at least before islam,i wasnt as RUDE AND ARROGANT as u are
i respect muslims,i respect islam.i hv never utter anything trhat can hurt anyone....

even if ur not a muslim,u must know THE BASIC COURTESY

i just simply cant stand with people who are arrogant and ignorant.

take it or leave it...no one is forcing u to islam but it's my duty to da'wah.

as how i can't convince u to islam, thats how u can't convince me to stop spreading the word of Allah.
if u come in peace we will be happy to help u,but if ur arrogant and behaving in such a way,i just hope Allah forgives u.

and u said am bullying????????give me a break....if in ur language spreading Allah's word is bullying then am honoured to do so.

be civilised people and stop behaving like street people and using the bad language BACK OFF.we muslims dont practise such things and we dont want such things to be on our forum.

:salam2:

I have got a story to share for all of you :

“Was there any day more difficult to you then the day of Uhud?” (In Aisha’s memory the worst day was Uhud…her memory doesn’t go back to Makkah)

The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) told the story to Aisha in the most noble terms:

“I faced (opposition from your people and the most difficult matter that I faced from them was on the Day of ‘Aqabah, when I presented myself to the sons of ‘Abd Yaaleel and they didn’t respond to me as I had hoped. So I left, grieved and I did not realise where I was until i found myself at Qarn al Manaazil.”

This was the incident of Ta’if

In Shawwal the beginning of June 619 A.D ten years after receiving his mission from his Lord, the Prophet (Peace be upon him) set out towards At-Ta’if, about 60 kilometres from Makkah, in the company of his freed slave Zaid bin Haritha inviting people to Islam.

But contrary to his expectations, the general atmosphere was terribly hostile. He approached the family of ‘Umair, who were reckoned amongst the nobility of the town. But, to his disappointment, all of them turned deaf ear to his message and used abusive language as regards the noble cause he had been striving for. Three brothers from the chieftains of Thaqeef —‘Abd Yaleel, Mas‘ud and
Habeeb — sons of ‘Amr bin ‘Umair Ath-Thaqafy met the Prophet (Peace be upon him) , who invited them to embrace Islam and worship Allâh, but they impudently jeered at him and refused his invitation. “He is tearing the cloths of Al-Ka‘bah; is it true that Allâh has sent you as a Messenger?” said one of them. “Has not Allâh found someone else to entrust him with His Message?” said the second. “I swear by Allâh that I will never have any contact with you. If you are really the Messenger of Allâh, then you are too serious to retort back; and if you are belying Allâh, then I feel it is imperative not to speak to.” said the third. The Messenger of Allâh (Peace be upon him) ,
finding that they were hopeless cases, stood up and left them saying: “Should you indulge in these practices of yours, never divulge them to me.”

For ten days he stayed there delivering his message to several people, one after another, but all to no purpose. Stirred up to hasten the departure of the unwelcome visitor, the people hooted him through the alley-ways, pelted him with stones and obliged him to flee from the city pursued by a relentless rabble. Blood flowed down both his legs; and Zaid, endeavouring to shield him, was wounded in the head. The mob did not desist until they had chased him two or three miles across the sandy plains to the foot of the surrounding hills. There, wearied and exhausted, he took refuge in one of the numerous orchards, and rested against the wall of a vineyard. At a time when the whole world seemed to have turned against him, Muhammad (Peace be upon him) turned to his Lord and betook himself to prayer and the following touching words are still preserved as those through which his oppressed soul gave vent to its distress. He was weary and wounded but confident of the help of his Lord:

“O Allâh! To You alone I make complaint of my helplessness, the paucity of my resources and my insignificance before mankind. You are the most Merciful of the mercifuls. You are the Lord of the helpless and the weak, O Lord of mine! Into whose hands would You abandon me: into the hands of an unsympathetic distant relative who would sullenly frown at me, or to the enemy who has been given control over my affairs? But if Your wrath does not fall on me, there is nothing for me to worry about.” “I seek protection in the light of Your Countenance, which illuminates the heavens and dispels darkness, and which controls all affairs in this world as well as in the Hereafter. May it never be that I should incur Your wrath, or that You should be wrathful to me. And there is no power nor resource, but Yours alone.”

Seeing him in this helpless situation, Rabi‘a’s two sons, wealthy Makkans, were moved on grounds of kinship and compassion, and sent to him one of their Christian servants with a tray of grapes. The Prophet (Peace be upon him) accepted the fruit with pious invocation:
“In the Name of the Allâh.”

The Christian servant ‘Addas was greatly impressed by these words and said: “These are words which people in this land do not generally use.”

The Prophet (Peace be upon him) inquired of him whence he came and what is his religion religion.

Addas replied: “I am a Christian by faith and come from Nineveh.” The Prophet (Peace be upon him) then said: “You belong to the city of the righteous Jonah, son of Matta.”

Addas asked him anxiously if he knew anything about Jonah. The Prophet (Peace be upon him) significantly remarked: “He is my brother. He was a Prophet and so am I.”

Thereupon ‘Addas paid homage to Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and kissed his hands. His masters admonished him at this act but he replied: “None on the earth is better than he is. He has revealed to me a truth which only a Prophet can do.” They again reprimanded him and said: “We forewarn you against the consequences of abandoning the faith of your forefathers. The religion which you profess is far better than the one you feel inclined to.”

Heart-broken and depressed, Muhammad (Peace be upon him) set out on the way back to Makkah. When he reached Qarn Al-Manazil, Allâh, the Almighty sent him Gabriel together with the angel of mountains. The latter asked the Prophet (Peace be upon him) for permission to bury Makkah between Al–Akhshabain —Abu Qubais and Qu‘ayqa‘an mountains. Full narration of this event was
given by ‘Aishah (May be pleased with her) (the Prophet’s spouse). She said: “I asked the Prophet (Peace be upon him) if he had ever experienced a worse day than Uhud. He answered that he had suffered a lot from those people (the idolaters) but the most painful was on the day of ‘Aqabah. I went seeking support from Ibn ‘Abd Yalil bin ‘Abd Kalal, but he spurned me. I set out wearied and grieved heedless of anything around me until I suddenly realized I was in Qarn Ath-Tha‘alib, called Qarn Al-Manazil. There, I looked up and saw a cloud casting its shade on me, and Gabriel addressing me: Allâh has heard your people’s words and sent you the angel of mountains to your aid. The latter called and gave me his greetings and asked for my permission to bury Makkah between Al-Akhshabain, the two mountains flanking Makkah. I said in reply that I would rather have someone from their loins who will worship Allâh, the All–Mighty with no associate.”

A concise meaningful answer fully indicative of the Prophet’s matchless character and the fathomless magnanimous manners.

ALL i can say is jazakallah ,sister for your post.
second thing which i have been thinking as well is-

1)we need to realize that-Allah said to the propet saw 'you wil not guide whom you love but I wil guide whom I love'

2)Allah comes between a man and his heart so that no one can accept islam except with his permission..
reason is easy to understand -you see a garden it looks beautiful and u wil certaily want to enter it -and most peope even fail to realize that the Owner of the garden is right there and all that has to be done is ask for his permission.

now consider this if someone has seen the garden and we are calling him from inside the garden-will he/she be able to come until he /she has recognised the Owner of the garden.
a case in point is a convert story i read-where the lady had become so confused that she cried out 'God if you exist guide me!'
that was her way of sayig if thereis an Owner give me permission1.and the next moment in the united states that day a program was being aired about muslims in america .that is how she came to know about isam.

so brothers and sisters Allah ha his way of guiding those He loves.let us not make people feel miserable-by telling them from within the garden -if u dont come inside this will happen that wil happen.
seriously lets try to make them comfortable while they recognize the Owner of everything that exists and come within islam.
at the same time lets focus our attention on The Owner as well because no one is safe from hellfire.no one.and no one is assured of paradise.

3)Allah has given us an opportunit where w r safe from the hardships that our sahaba bore in makng islam accessible to people. if today people are in a position to access and learn about Allah it is because of Love of ALlah for His creation ,not because of anythig we have done.

4) to help someone become a muslim is a great blessing .but its a blessing that is bestowed by Allah not snatched.

there is a story of apious muslim who went and quietly settled in a village and everyone who looked at him or at whom he looked at became a muslim, and he woud wonder and thank Allah that Allah has opened their hearts to islam not even conscious of how Allah was using him to spread islam.

5)so let us realize sometimes cultural andother differences might exist .that may make t difficult to communicate.so take it easy.

well i appreciate what u wrote.as u can read on my thread i wrote there, some of my thoughts and i just pass this links to non muslims on TTI.thats all.if they feel offended or being BULLIED,then am not responsible for it.as a revert and 12 years of journey has taught me a good lesson about religion and people.i know hidaya comes from Allah. He is the only one who can stop someone from converting and He is the only who can make someone to convert.

i am not scaring people or something.when i was 10 i know what will happen to me if am not a muslim and i have been carrying this pain in my heart for 12 years and i have never really had a good sleep these 12 years.

people basically become angry when they want to prove us wrong.

Allahualam.May Allah forgives all of us and gives hidayah to everyone.

thank you so much sister.it really helps me a lot.it was a great pain for me though.it's not the pain caused by her who asked me to back off but the pain caused my the members themselves who keep on backfiring me without knowing the truth.just because she accused me for bullying and forcing, everyone concluded that am forcing?hahhahaha...i hv thought so these things even before converting.Alhamdulilah i converted by reading quran witnessing Allah's miracles .not by seeing muslims themselves.sometimes it is just so heart breaking to see people can behave in such a way.
