This is a very good website, but does anyone know a site that teaches without the tajweed (is that the right word for it)? I would like to learn how to pronounce the words before I learn how to say them with tajweed... thanks!

did u meant the huroof (alif, ba, ta...ya) ?
if i correctly understood, may i suggest that u first learn the huroof with an imam or any other educated muslim brothers becos sometimes maybe we think we have pronounce the huroof correctly but actually we have not pronounce it fully correct
at my place we sometimes have issue concerning pronouncing the huroof correctly such as the huroof 'ain','qaf' and 'kho' becos as non-arabic speakers with different tongues, we may mistakenly pronounce the huroof;thinking that we've pronounce it correctly especially qalqalah huroof.
