I've already read the Quran, and i'm reading it again so I can understand it more. I've also been looking more online and learning more about Islam, and watching videos, etc. I 100% believe with all my heart that Islam is the true religion. I want to revert, but the problem is my family. I know they won't understand, or accept it. My dad always comments on how Islam is a "terrorist" religion and how a lot of Muslims are "evil." I told him he was wrong once, and he just said I don't know what i'm talking about and keeps going on and on about it. I know I don't have to tell them right away, i'm thinking on waiting a few more months until i'm ready to tell them. But i'm worried even then they won't respect my decision. There's a masjid where I live, but it's pretty far from my house. It's a long distance to walk, and I don't drive yet. And like I said i'm planning on hiding it from my parents for a while, so there's no way I can go to one. So i'm wondering do you need to say your shahadah in front of witnesses? If you don't say it in front of witnesses, just to yourself, do you have to say it outloud or can you say it to yourself?
Another issue is praying. I'm planning on taking each step one by one, and not rush into everything. But, i'm worried i'm going to have problems learning since I don't know any Muslims, and i'm pretty much on my own.
Thanks everyone.
And, sorry if I asked in the wrong section. I was confused where to ask at, lol
