No you don't need. Wudoo is to be peformed when you are reading from the mushaf (Quran 100 percent written in arabic)

As salamo alaikome

I have never read any other version of Quran except in English as that is my only language. I always make wudu and cover as in prayer whenever I read Quran. Im not sure if it is obligatory or not and I would ask for proof stating that Quran has to be in Arabic to make wudu obligatory because I do it out of respect. I tried to find something on that other site for answering Islamic Questions but I couldnt find anything on it. I will submit the question and see if I get an answer because I would also like to know.

As salamo alaikome and thank you brother for this link. That information was very helpful and even though it didnt make distinction between Quran in Arabic or any other language I am going to take it as you SHOULD make wudu to read Quran in ANY language.
:salam2:,

i think you misunderstood it.

to be brief:

1. Quran mushaf (arabic Quran) : wudu necessary to touch it.

2. books with arabic Quran verses (eg. Quran translation, etc): if arabic Quranic verses are more than 50%, wudu is required. if verses are less than 50%, no need of wudu but you should not touch those verses.

Men of Allah

Ya Allah,Ya Rahim.
That would be necesarry if you taking wudhu at first..But, In case you want to read Quran, just make sure you're not touch it by something look dirty from your skin..(Allah is careful with what you do)..
