Abu Easa on the Chilean miners saga

"Tell the truth now folks, we all had wet eyes watching the reunions... :*-)

How awesome is the unifying power of JOY and HAPPINESS when we witness it in its pure unadulterated form. Subhanallah, how infectious these wonderful emotions of the human condition are as we all sit here enraptured watching such a random story on the other side of the world, all because we all love joy, love and happiness itself. Reflect!"

Very true - I did tear up watching the video of them being rescued. It was very moving!
I'm so glad they made it and were able to meet their family members. Al hamdulillah!

I love it. I watched some last night, and I was watching it at work today. I kept tearing up. I was touched to see that one of the miners got on his knees and prayed before he even hugged anyone or did anything else. Their faith was very moving.

If i were to compare this saga with those muslims who are held without charge for 8 or 12 years in US or UK or Guantanamo prisons and some released after 5 years without charge[ and then get to see their family after 5 years]. This saga is nothing. I mean compare 2 months with 8 years..... 8 years actually consist of 48 blocks/sets of 2 months. Indeed the muslims are more deserving of our publicity and coverage.

May Allah hasten the release of muslims prisoners wherever they are. Our supplication is for you , even though you are more deserving of that.....

No offense to the thread starter, just a general message.

*facepalm*

Be happy for the people who are reunited with their families. If you truly can't, then I guess don't. I certainly am happy for these families, regardless of their religion. :(

I dont disagree. But this had worldwide coverage, so its something that caught my attention.

I'm glad I didn't have work that day. I literally sat up all night watching all 33 of them be rescued and subhanAllah it was so beautiful to watch. I'm seriously envious that they have such an amazing President. THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is a true leader. Someone who fights with his people and doesn't hide behind security. Who feels the pain of his people and doesn't let distance sway him. If he ran for election again, I'm sure it would be no contest. The world followed the story of these men and everyone was united in their love for humanity. Chile has become an example of what a country should aspire to be and I hope everyone else learns to follow suit.
