:salam2:
There seems to be an aggressive campaign lately here on tti. I don't know what changed, but it is seeming to loose focus on the point of making this site available.
First of all, you have people come to tti with different levels of understanding of Islam. From the non muslim to the muslim who have misunderstandings.
According to the phraseology that is repeated: We take things from the Quran and Sunnah. However etiquette and mannerism seems to be excluded.
so let's explore, from the Quran and Sunnah what I mean:
Allah says:
[saheeh intl] Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of who is [rightly] guided.
[16:125]
[Hilali-Khan] Invite (mankind, O Muhammad ) to the Way of your Lord (i.e. Islam) with wisdom (i.e. with the Divine Inspiration and the Qur'an) and fair preaching, and argue with them in a way that is better. Truly, your Lord knows best who has gone astray from His Path, and He is the Best Aware of those who are guided.
[Saheeh_International] And do not argue with the People of the Scripture except in a way that is best, except for those who commit injustice among them, and say, "We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you. And our God and your God is one; and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him."
[Hilali-Khan] And argue not with the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), unless it be in (a way) that is better (with good words and in good manner, inviting them to Islamic Monotheism with His Verses), except with such of them as do wrong, and say (to them): "We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you; our Ilah (God) and your Ilah (God) is One (i.e. Allah), and to Him we have submitted (as Muslims)."
These two verses should sum up what tti, moderators should follow. Now if Allah, swt, is telling muslims to discuss with the people of the book with these manners, how on earth could there be a cold slaying of a person statements by just deleting them. It would serve better to correct the person with information from the Quran and Sunnah.
What I find that is a shame, is that if it's not on islamqa.com site than you seem to abruptly end the conversation, instead of doing what Allah has ordered the muslims to do. Surely, you don't need to quote a sheik(to your approval) to answer people back with what is from Quran and Sunnah. You may have had many explanations of verses and hadith to answer questions so why not use it.
It saddens me, when maybe a brother or sister come with some explanation to something that might be off or unestablished, yet we have no way to explain to their misunderstanding because it was completely deleted. Thus leaving a muslim (supposed to be brother or sister) going on in life with misunderstanding. All of this happening because someone who has been given authority over discussion don't know how to answer or are just becoming arrogant.
