al salaam aleikum my Yesterday whilst i was getting ready for prayer thoughts came to me that lowered my imaan. After i prayed i read a single page from the quran for guidence i came upon this verse

Do they not look at the birds, held poised in the midst of (the air and) the sky?
Nothing holds them up but (the power of) God.
Verily in this are signs for those who believe. Surah 16:79

Later in the day i went outside to the woods near my house it was noon and the sun as high as it gets in the day. Suddenly in broad day light i saw an owl,it didnt appear to be sick, actually quit healthy, it was sitting in the tree eyes open moving its head normally. I took this as a gift from Allah (swt). Though im sure there could be numerus reasons it was outside at such a time it made me remember Allah (swt). Are there any other verses/hadith mentioning birds? i know i few but im sure there are some im sure i cant recall

Subhanallah this is a beautiful ayah ... It remind us that even in the midst of nothing Allah is there to support us :)....

And there is no animal in the earth, nor a bird that flies on its two wings, but (they are) communities like yourselves. Quran, chapter 6, verse 38. This a great comparison between the ummah and birds. We are compared to an animal that flies high and explores new horizons. We in the ummAh should strive to reach high in our deen.

Seest thou not that Allah is He, Whom do glorify all those who are in the heavens and the earth, and the birds with wings outspread? Each one knows its prayer and its glorification. And Allah is Knower of what they do. Quran, chapter 24, verse 41.

Do they not see the birds above them spreading and contracting (their wings)? Naught upholds them save the Beneficent. Surely He is Seer of all things. Quran, chapter 67, verse 19.

Birds also reach for the sky and don't conform with living on earth . We should be like birds with our hearts in the hereafter and not be stuck in this dunya inshallah

and our biological knowledge in stored in our DNAs. how did the information stored in them?? thing to think about!

also without God, how did scientific information and future happenings were told in Quran and by prophet (peace be upon him)?

MashaAllah that's beautiful--I think that was a sign just for you! May Allah guide you to the truth: Islam. Actually there are so many amazing things about animals and nature in general in the Quran. In one of the suras (chapters) of the Quran, there is a verse which mentions the crow. It's really amazing. The crow showed one of the sons of Prophet Adam peace be upon him, who killed his brother how to bury his dead brother when he spent days and days carrying his brothers body. Anyway the crows are said to be one of the most smartest animals. I was watching a documentary about crows and then I saw the verse one day and I was just amazed! subhanalaah.

Here's a website which translates the verse I'm talking about and goes into more detail about the story. http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=141773782525351
