Cant Pray at school.

Salam!

I have new Muslim female (18 yr old) online friend living in Canada.
She started to pray (Salat).

She has been performing fajr prayer in the morning but doing dhuhr, asr and maghrib in the evenings, then isha in the night. The reason for this is that she is at school and there is no way for her to pray because it is a Christian school.

Sometimes if she gets home early she does dhuhr and asr one after the other, which leaves time before maghrib.

Question #1: Is there a certain amount of time she should wait in between prayers when doing them one after the other?

Question #2 What can she do in order for her not to miss dhuhr & asr.

Thank you all for your replies in advance!

Question #1:All solah time is set and to follow accordingly..

Question #2:Maybe she can discuss this with the school
and ask their permission
for a littler space to perform prayer there.

~May Allah swt help and guide her
and
~May Allah swt reward you for your concern~Amin!

Take care!

I've started praying at work. I find an empty room, sneak in, and close the door to pray. Not because I am ashamed of my faith, but I have nosey co-workers that like to gossip and I really don't want any rumors going around.

I will eventually tell them, but this is not the right time. I need to learn more about Islam so that I can answer any questions. Allah will show me when the time is right.

Assalaamu alaikum,

well, if you have a favorite teacher....talk to him/her and ask if you could pray in the corner of their office. Nobody can stop you from walking away from a class....they dont have the right to do that. When I was in high school just two years ago (most of the kids were non-Muslims). I used to pray at the classroom of my psychology teacher. She was very kind and respectful and would even close the door for me when I came to pray. Its only a matter of communication. Talk to your teachers, principles and so on. Never be afraid of being picked on. I have learned that kids actually love you when you stand up for yourself and your faith. May Allaah make it easy for you!

Al salaam, at my school the only hard thing is doing wudu, the kids at my school are so fricken idoidic that they cant understand it if some one is the slightest different from them. Im shunned for washing my feet at school durring wudu and for refusing to socialize with the other gender. Then im shunned by the teachers for refusing to sing the "lady gaga" crap that we are supposed to sing.

At school i used to be able to sneak in the library and pray, but the teachers didnt want me there so i moved. Now its either i lie and say i use the rest room and pray in the bath room, i find it very irritating when some random kid comes in and seeing me prostrate, and chances are Allah (swt) isnt to happy about me worshipping him in such a place. Ive decided its better to pray durring the 15 minute breaks im given than and out side. Also to force sanity back into me i sneak the quran in to class and read it before i feel my self getting angry at someone...

Yah off topic had to rant some place lol :SMILY45:

She will just need to get permission from a teacher at school and pray in an empty classroom. There are tons of muslim students all over the western world who already do this: Just remember, that there is no excuse whatsoever to miss prayers, so this is actually more important than school. Any empty classroom, any corner in the library, in the hallway, in a teacher's office will do.

Also, to the brother who originally posted, I would just like to say that a muslim brother should really not be making friends with a sister, even though it is online - its a great cause for fitna, and will only lead to problems. When a guy and a girl are alone, shaytaan makes up the third for company.

Praying in a bathroom, also, is not valid since its a place of filth. Prayers can be made anywhere in this entire world except in a graveyard, and in a bathroom.

Normally people use the lunch break for praying Zihur and Asr one after the other permissable in case there is danger of missing either Combining Zuhur and Asr which our Shia brothers do on a regular basis withot an excuse is not condoned by Sunnah .There are fixed timings for the five salats but in special circumstances like travelling one can combine zuhur and asr and likewise Maghrib and Isha

salaams to all

she should approach the teachers/lecturers etc at school & request a place to pray. im sure they would not object.
she should explain its compulsory for a muslim to perform 5 daily prayers and its not like the place allocated would be reserved for her only- it can be used for other things but when she needs to pray- she should be able to perform her wudhu & then lay out her prayer mat & pray.
aslo clarify the issue of wudhu- this can also lead to problems.
she has to be able to perform her wudhu properly.
isha allah, she will get permission without any problem.

and Allah ta'ala knows best
jazakallah

Do they have lunch break? She can go out and pray Dhuhr during that time. Also when school is done (I'm assuming it's 3:30) she can run home and do Asr. When does the sun set where she lives? When does Asr start? Also there is a very good website to tell prayer times. Islamicfinder.

What are you serious?? I think as Muslims we're not allowed to pray in the bathroom  I ask one of the knowledgable members to please comment on this. Akhhi try talking to your teachers.....like I said, a favorite teacher that you understand will probably be a good choice. If the teacher likes you in the classroom, they'll probably like you outside it too. Also dont worry about kids picking on you.....they got nothing but hate! be calm, reply with respect, do not be apologetic (I think thats how you spell it)....basically, just be yourself. Whoever befriends you for who you're has indeed made the right choice and whoever does not has issues. I ask Allaah to make it easy for you,
Take care

good advice ukhti. also akhi you are not allowed to pray in bathrooms because there is a hadith that says “All the earth is a place of prayer except graveyards and bathrooms". Your prayers were not valid and you are only allowed to pray in the bathroom if necessary. Since you seem comfortable praying in public places (masha Allaah) then why not pray outside? If Dhuhr is at lunch go home for lunch and pray there, and if you can't find a spot outside.
