As Salaam Alaykoum

I am a Muslim convert born into a family with many different views on Islam.
I am here to learn more about Islam and make some online friends who can be helpful in my journey.

I am 22, from Toronto and converted February 2011.
I took my Shahada with a Muslim Sister Scholar in Newmarket, Ontario.

I struggle with the idea of Hijab as I am the only Muslim in my family.
I also have many other on-going things in my life that tend to hold me back
from my full potential as a New- not so new, Muslim Sister.

Any good advice is trully appreciated.
All the best you you all.

Thank you for this website too, by the way.

Salaam,
Armani Lauren

Firsly, Welcome here Sister. I believe there is nothing like potential in matter of Imaan. Its just the strength of Imaan, the strength comes from certainity together with right actions and deeds. May Almighty make matters easier for each of us, so that we can become more pious. May our Imaan Strengthen... Ameen

Assalamu Alaikum.
Even though i am new to the forum, but i will say to you welcome back to islam. Don't worry, insha Allah it will be a thing of the past. Allah has enjoined us in the Holy Qur'an to be patience in all our endeavors. Be kind to your family members and make them understand that islam is religion of peace insha Allah they will understand as the time goes by.

newbies friends together

Wa aleikum salâm,
i just posted a lengthy intro with a subject like like newbie confused, looking for new friends, something like that. I don't know if you can go view it? I was just thinking that although i can't help you as a more experienced muslima because i'm not one of those but we could share experiences or sth? I don't know how personal messages work but if you like i can give you my email and snail mail addresses at some point, or certainly the email, but i'm myself into penpalling . . . Btw i don't think age matters in friendship, assuming you are quite young (though i consider myself young too) :)

Inshallah this site will be helpfull to us.
It's good it's here at any rate!! :)
love from another sister or sister-to-be,
Nur
