Assalaam walaikum,

I would love to go shopping. However, my tastes are a little different.

That's the spirit, sister. Enjoy yourself. If I am not good to myself how can I love others.

Brother,

I will bake you a chocolate fudge cake from scratch and top it double chocolate frosting from scratch. Even Sister Harb will want two slices...I can't do much but man oh man can I bake.

I will make dua for you!

How wonderful all the responses. The religion of Islam establishes for us such a positive mindframe which helps us to interpret things that may befall us in life and keep us guided on the Straight Path.

It is good to remember the narration of the prophet, peace and blessings upon him: “How amazing is the case of the believer; there is good for him in everything, and this characteristic is exclusively for him alone. If he experiences something pleasant, he is thankful, and that is good for him; and if he comes across some diversity, he is patient, and that is good for him.” [Muslim]

Of course it is normal to experience pain, sadness, disappointment, etc at various points in our lives. But it is important not to allow oneself to dwell in this state for very long. Allah bestows so many blessings upon us. When we stay cognizant of these blessings it is difficult to be any other than a grateful servant. Truly, it is in the remembrance of Allah that hearts find rest.

The purpose of the medicine of patience is not intended to help one to endure a completely miserable existance from beginning to end. On the contrary, when one endures apparent misforture patiently, one finds that there comes a time that the misfortune is lifted and replaced by happiness, joy and relief. It is true that good things come to those who wait!

In the midst of a long spell of gray skies and rain one might come to imagine that is all life is about. But sure enough, one day those skies will brighten and rainbows appear! But one needs to endure and stay alert to the blessings as they arrive in order to appreciate this. No condition during this life in the world is permanent, everything is temporary and changing. The greater the extent for one to endure discomfort and sorrow the greater the capacity to experience the corresponding happiness and joy.

As Aapa has explained, once you have conditioned yourself to this reality it becomes so much easier to recognize the bumps in the path as you come upon them and not become derailed by them. They will be more like a blip in the radar screen.

The more and more you embrace and walk upon the Straight Path of Islam the less the activities taking place in the rest of the dunya will be appealing. Truly, there is no greater satisfaction in life than walking in the light of Allah, encountering the mercy, forgiveness, and blessings of Allah. And while it may at times be a solitary road to tread, it is so amazing when you meet others who are on the same path.

Recall when the prophet, peace be upon him, said to his Uncle: "By Allah. If they place the sun in my right hand and the moon on my left asking me to give up, I shall not do it until either Allah gives it victory or I die in its cause." Consider all of the suffering and personal losses Muhammad sustained during his prophethood. But Alhamdulilah he patiently endured and in the end was victorious. Imagine if he had decided to give up at any point! But no - he saw it through to the very end and the result was tremendous success that can only be bestowed by Allah the Most High.

Sorry for such a long response but I was really inspired by what has been shared here.

Best wishes to everyone. Never give up until you reach the end and may Allah have mercy on us all.

Wa-alaikumus salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu to all:

How can I be distressed, sad or disappointed when I have believers all around me (both in virtual and in the real world) helping and consoling me?? So the chains of sadness should be broken and the whole situations should to realized/analyzed from another perspective.

A perspective that will bring coolness, calmness, satisfaction, motivation, dedication and finally realization. A perspective that is far away from the negativity and a perspective that will bring one close to Allah. A perspective that will help one in seeing those who are less privileged and will help one in bowing down to Allah for thanking all that He has given.

Every rose has its thorn. So the reaction is up to you. Whether you would like to cry for being pinched by the thorn OR you would like to be thankful for getting that rose despite of the pain. (side note: nothing to do with marriage). But realize one thing the more we thank Allah, the more we get as it pointed in the following verse of the quran

And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed, 'If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe.' "[14:7]

Umar bin Abdul Aziz nicely said "Secure Allah's blessings by expressing gratitude [to Allah]. "

and Hassan Al-Basri said, "When Allah bestows His favours upon a people, He asks for their gratitude. If they offer their thanks [to Him], He is able to increase their good fortune, but if they deny His favours, He is able to turn these favours of His into torment and affliction."

So the deal is in our favor but we need a right mind to comprehend it.

I must write that **Alhamdolillah I have broken the shackles of sadness. I had refueled myself to proceed towards my goal with much more dedication, determination and effort. At this stage the sky seems to be the only limit**

This is for sister precious star

"Dil khush tha to har cheez say tapakte thi bahar
Aab bayaba kia hua aalim bayan ba ho geya "
(some one please help me in finding this shehr)

Translation:
"When the heart was happy, eveything else seemed to be happy
But when the heart became sad, the entire world seem to be sad."

Assalamo alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu

I hope all of the brothers and sisters are in the best of health and eeman.

I would like to request all the brothers and sisters to make duaa for me. Life is not going the way it was/is planned. As a result, I am extremely disappointed and feeling very low. Its looks like I am stranded in a big ocean with no route to follow. The person who would smile and bring joy to others life is himself in need of something to cheer him up.

Any how, via this post I would also request the members of TTI whom I consider part of my family, to forgive me if I have done any thing wrong which may have offended someone intentionally or unintentionally

“Allah does not burden a soul with more than it can bear.”
Our pain and tears are the ways of refinement...Don't You know metal cant b refined until its red hot..whatevr happns, happns for d best...lucky are those who seek refuge in Lord in times of trials...Allaah loves nothng more than repentance of a sinner..Lord is calling us and no doubt he is Ar-Rahmaan, Ar-Raheem.

Ma sha' Allah tabarakAllah brother, very happy to know that, may Allah give you the happiness of this world and the hereafter.
This has reminded me of the following two she'r

Ishq ke daam mein phans kar ye rihaa hota hei,
Barq girti hei tou ye nakhl hara hota hei

Translation:The heart, when shackled in Allah loves,is set free;
When the lightening strikes, then the oasis turns green

and the following is my favourite:

Tu Shaaheen Hai, Parvaaz Hai Kaam Tera
Tere Saamne Aasmaan Aur Bhi Hain

You are a falcon, your task is to fly
Before you there are other skies to reign as well

Cheer up bhai. :)

Ameen to your duaas akhi

The Messenger of Allah said; “The supplication of a Muslim for his brother in his absence will certainly be answered. Everytime he makes a supplication for good for his brother, the angel appointed for this particular task says: `Ameen! May it be for you, too’.” [Muslim].

Assalaam walaikum,

I love it..joy and happiness...we need that at times to keep going on...and I want to publicly thank you Precious Star. You have made me realize the blessings I have.
I know Allah subhana wa taala will answer your dua. I believe.

At this stage of my life all I know is that Allah loves me. And that it is ok to say Allah loves me. Each struggle...and for some reason I got a deluge of tests this year...made me think the ticker is really tocking...has made me dependent on Allah.

I post so much on TTI simply to share with ya all how happy you make me..and then I get my little attitudes..can't help it afterall I am a woman.
