Muslim Guy
Salam alaikum.

I thought it would be interesting to see how many people on TTI are married, how many are unmarried, or how many used to be married at one point.

I feel that people in each of the different groups are facing different types of tests and obstacles daily. For a single person, patience and lowering the gaze could be difficult; for a married person, perhaps the extra responsibility of parenthood, or supporting their partner is their primary concern. Also, everybody likes to vote on polls, so inshAllah this will be a nice thread. :)

Please note that the polls will show who voted for what. If you have any other comments on marriage and what role it plays in your life, or any other advice you can give, then please post and share.

Insha Allah I plan to get married within 2-3 years. So please make duas for me, that I get a pious wife, full of fear for Allah and obedient to HIS Law and orders only.
Also sweet and caring too.

Salaams All,

I think we all appreciate the benefits of marriage and InshAllah may Allah give us those, but forget that marriage is also about two human beings, with different character traits, habits and preferences.

So Islam should form the foundation on which the two individual's rights are protected, but does not mean we become drones or clones. I want my wife to be known in her own right, she has her own mind, life, aims, ways of doing things and I will be there to support, encourage her (even on those shopping trips :-( ) and I want her to do the same for me. Its okay If she doesn’t like all I do, I mean like motorsport not as in doing unIslamic things and I don’t have to like all she does, but I will happily accept it and let her develop, as her development , happiness is my own too.

Anyway, if I knew what I was talking about I would have been married by now :) and as we all know, finding your life partner is one of Allah's greatest blessings, so prayers for us all to be blessed/guided by Allah to our better-halves, Ameen.

lets not turn this place into a 'muslim match' website pleeeease! thtd be hilarious

marriage is so difficult especially if ure from a cultural background and theyre more interested in what car u drive and ure income than whether ure sane in the head with Allah and pryers and stuff.

apparently ive heard from freinds who are married, tht life is actually pretty tough and u should appreciate the time u have with ure parents before ure married. (for girls neway)

thats what me tooo thinking  copy n pasting :D

Copy Paste? Naaaah. Copy, Paste and then edit it to make an indirect proposal. And hence, to make this site into an indirect matrimonial site.

I think Brother Mabsoot should take some measures. :D

"You shall encourage those of you who are single to get married. They may marry the righteous among your male and female servants, if they are poor. GOD will enrich them from His grace. GOD is Bounteous, Knower." (Quran 24:32)

Ali (ra) was asked ...

what is marriage? he replied ... its a mans happiness ....

what after mans happiness? he said ... its a life times anxiety after that ..

whats after that? always burden around you ...

this is not to discourage you lol ..... yes im single and i want to share the happiness, anxiety and burden with a nice pious woman inshaAllah (as soon as possible lol) coz marriage discourages immorality

this is a dua i always supplicate to Allah and i recommend it to the ones who are not yet married

"Our Lord! Grant unto us wives and offspring who will be the comfort of our eyes, and give us (the grace) to lead the righteous." (Quran 25:74) :tti_sister:

Salam alaikum everyone.

Please try and limit your posts to being useful ones. Maybe make one post on your current position.

I think what would be most useful would be if the married people post on how they themselves got married, how they found their spouse, how old they were at the time and how different or similar marriage is from what they expected it to be like.

I am not married yet, and of course it is difficult to find a good muslim guy here. I've met people on these matrimonial sites, but that can't be really trusted too much.
But Allah swt knows best and whenever the time is right, I'll find someone insha Allah.
That goes for everyone else..
So people don't worry...
