Asslamo Allaikum,

My friend & his wife went to the parents evening in *!*!*!XX (UK) to the new school with the new head-teacher and the following interesting conversation took place:

Head Teacher: I understand that you may have some reservations about your girls wearing school uniform as it is not shalwar Kameez?

Parents: Not really, because our girls wear Hijab and long-dress!

Head Teacher: Isn’t Shalwar Kameez Islamically mandated?

Parents: Not really, would you mind telling us where you heard that from?

Head Teacher: Our advisor on Islamic affairs, Sr. *!*!*!X.

Parents: OooooK!

Head Teacher: I also understand that your children mustn’t utter the word, “PIG”?

Parents: We beg your pardon?

Head Teacher: You know, your children can’t say “PIG”!

Parents: (puzzled!) It’s just an animal, we can’t eat it but to the best of our knowledge there is no sin in saying the word!

Head Teacher: We also understand that the Hijab must be Green? But the school uniform is blue so that may be a problem for you.

Parents: Our girls can wear a blue Hijab, that isn’t a problem

Head Teacher: Are you sure? Isn’t green the mandated colour of Islam?

Parents: Yes, blue Hijab shouldn’t be a problem

A few weeks later, phone rings and the Head Teacher asks my friend for a meeting and it goes like this:

Mr Khan! You and your wife seem to be quite accommodating and flexible but our advisor is telling us something completely different and parents are threatening to pull their girls out of the school, can you speak to Sr. *!*!*!X.

My friend says, Sure.

Head-teacher leaves the room!

My friend & his wife stay in the room!

Sr *!*!*! walks in with a Dupatta (Pakistani convertible Hijab) and says, “Thanks for coming brother & sister, we have an organisation for parents called “Pakistani Mirpuri Association” so we always encourage & welcome professional and educated families such as yourself.

My friend: We are not Mirpurees.

Sr *!*!*!: Weren’t you born in Pakistan?

My friend: Sister, I am not a Mirpuri. How can I become a member? And why is your organisation called “Pakistani Mirpuri Association”; I am a Pakistani Pathan! why I am excluded? As you know Zainab (in my daughter's class) is the daughter of a revert mother & Arab father, what about her? She is neither a Pakistani nor a Mirpuri!

His Wife: Sister! Who asked you to advise on Islamic affairs? Islam is based on the Qur’aan and Sunnah and there is no stipulated colour for Hijab and there is no prohibition for saying “PIG”

Sr *!*!*!: Well! we know what all these women who cover themselves, do in private!

His Wife: What? Are you slandering Muslims Sisters who wear Islamic Hijab without proof?

Things get heated between the two women; so my friend pulls the whole meeting off.

They go to the head-teacher and say “Our girls will wear Hijab (what-ever colour) and a long-dress, the rest if your problem, you deal with it.

We don't have a problem so there is no need for a discussion.

Thanks

In my country which's suppose to be a muslim country,an administrator of a school prevents wearing hijab completely, the students and the teachers as well.Wala haula wala kuatah ila billah.

Subhan'allah, i don't know what else to say except: Awww... cute british uniforms!!!

lol, it's never really been a problem here, we wear what we want, (and many times that's not a good thing!) and in my area, they're very accomodating towards us i guess.

people regularly ask me if my reason for wearing a blue/ brown jilbab and niqab is becaue im not "properly qualified". Like its some kind of "belts in karate" system...... lol

I say scrap the salwar kameez in school and employ long skirts instead!!!

Absolutely amazing! I'm gob smacked! I don't think I can intelligently comment on the absurdity of this mirpuri woman. God help us.

W-Salam Sis,

How long have you been a Muslim? still on Brown, with occasional relapse back into blue? :)

Time to change your instructor, don't you think? :blackhijab:

Salaam aleikum

At the begining of this thread, I was sad on behalf of the ummah, having to defend themselves against muslims who follow culture more than deen...

At the end, I was just all cracked up lauging... Thanx for making my day... hehe.
