My Beloved Beard (poem)

ansari

STRANGER...
:salam2:

Life has really changed.
Gone are the days…
Where people used to say
'Aww your face is so sweet and smooth'.

Gone are the days…
Where it took ages,
To shape my sideburns
And shave all the facial hair.

Gone are the days…
Of beauty, charm and attraction
As the beard is now,
A symbol of terrorism and backwardness.

People see me now,
As something strange and weird.
My relatives often make fun of me,
By asking … who broke your heart?

My distant friends ask me,
Did you join any terrorist camp?
My close friends at times make fun of me
'Hey man, blades are very cheap nowadays'

Women often ask me,
Why don't you shave that ugly beard
And be like a charming superstar?
You look boring!

I feel sorry for my sisters
As their minds are now totally corrupted
Inside the web of clean-shaved star icons,
As they're the new age 'trend setters'.

But very few know
That I follow a superstar.
His name is Muhammed(saw),
The forgotten hero.

And I have no regrets
As he has taught me,
'This world is prison for a believer
And paradise for a non-believer. '

So wake up, O muslim youth !
Remember our heroes – The Prophets and the Sahabahs
Remember, this world is a testing place
And don't let your senses to deceive you.

So be proud to imitate,
The Prophetic style
For he has commanded us,
'Grow your beards and trim your moustaches'.

And he who loves his Sunnah,
Has indeed loved him.
And he who loves him,
Will be with him in Paradise !

As-Shafaa'i(Brother)
I started growing one for abt 2 weeks already...
Probably the longest i have grown.

Be proud of your beard....
In my country , you seldom see people have beard.

If you love the prophet, we should do what he does...

Brothers :

Let the beard Flow

Letting the beard grow is a sunnah that is highly recommended by our fuqaha, may Allah have mercy on them. Anyone who loves the Messenger of Allah (salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) should know that following his sunnah is a sign of sincere love. Anyone who despises the beard or makes fun of it should know that belittling or making fun of the sunnah is prohibited.

Salaam Alaiykum,

All my friends are growing beards ages (16-19)but unfortunately I dont seem to be endowed with facial hair (sigh). I started shaving (even though there is no hair cause a brother told me it will help hair grow; but it doesn't help except it scrapes my skin. I sometimes feel sad, espicially when I see brothers sporting beautiful beards :( and I have NONE. The only hair that grows, I can count, and grows randomly on my chin; and If I grow that I look STUPID (a beard with prominent 11 Hairs, 25 wanna be hairs)

A MUSLIM BROTHER
ASAK bro, good poem. people should realise that we have a hero for all time and we have follow him.

As for brother Island Muslim you made me laugh bro. never bother abt it. let it take its own time. i know what you are saying. lemme share my funny part my beard is fine except that one side of it is completely locked with my moosh and the other side is completely barren. and sometimes i myself look into mirror and laugh at it. you know how funny it is when your one side of moosh goes all the way down till your chin and the other one just stops at the end of you upper lip.
believe me i'm laughing even while i'm writing this.

my beard is growing fine alhamdulillah. but i didn't always wear a beard. i used to be clean shaven or content with a goatee type of beard. it's also important to note that i wasn't that serious with islam at the time. i kept on trying to convince myself that it wasn't important. whenever i tried to wear a full beard i was doing it to look cool or something, when i did that my neck and sides of my face would break out terribly. but in december i saw how important having the beard was, and i began doing it for Allah SWT and now my skin never breaks out now that i'm wearing it from the heart. i do trim it because my facial hair grows extremely fast in one month my beard could look like i had it for years.

Assalaamu Alaiykum,

Alhamdulilah at least I made you laugh bro :). Honestly bro I really wish for strong growth but it looks as if its not going to happen so I have resigned myself. I get jealous when I see brothers with strong beards masha allah! makes me look kind of less manly around them :(

Aaslaamu'Alykum,

I'a happy with my beard, its growing nice and steady. I think i have one empty patch under my chin, although it would be nice to have a beard that was long. Whatever Allah (S.W.T) wills.

Alhamdulilah. That poem was nice by the way.

Brother just a piece of advice:
You're a good person to want a beard but You are a man for the things you do as well. Being polite and being firm believer. I know nothing about beards really because i am a sister, but don't beat yourself...if Allah wills you'll get it soon, if not then you're a man just the way you are. Don't feel foolish, or ashamed, in order for u to be a man.....be steadfast in your deen. Stand up against what is wrong, now that's a man.:hijabi:

Salaam Alaiykum,

Jazakallah khairan for your advise and kindness sister palestine. I know that PIETY is the only thing that matters in the eyes of ALLAH(swt).

You know in a gathering among brothers its kind of awkward when you are the only one with wannabe beard hairs like mine while ALL brothers sport beards of various length and growth(sigh) :(. I even asked brothers with knowledge if any of them knew a sahaba who had no hair growth on the beard but they can't seem to tell me anyone. So as far as I know ALL prophets (peace be upon them all) and sahaba (may allah be pleased with them all) had beards. I know some indonesian brothers (not where I live) who have the same problems as me but ALL the brothers in my community have beards unless they shave it.

barak allah feeki ya ukhti palestine.

By the way sis, any news from your family in Ethiopia??? Insha allah all is well
