:A Letter to Sister JenGiove:

Assalamu Alaikum:

I was wondering about sister JenGiove. She isn't a Muslimah but her posts reveal an inner commitment towards Deen of Allah, but only Allah knows the best. She seems to be in a transitional state between her parental religion and Deen of Allah, but Allah knows the best.

This reminds me of a man Mr.Dhingra about whom my ustad (religious guider) used to tell me. Mr Dhingra was a prosperous person running a chain of hotels. He used to visit my ustad frequently and was fully convinced that Islam is the only absolute truth and path to salvation. But he was for some unknown reasons not fully committed to submerge himself into the Islam. He inquired my ustad ''I am a Muslim by heart but not actions" and he meant actually to know what would be his destiny on day of judgement. Only Allah knows that but my ustad presented him a beautiful analogy...........

Suppose a list of candidates is called for a job interview and you manage yourself to be called for the interview. One by one candidates face the interview with desired documents (academics, experience or other certifications). Now at your call you are on interview table. The interviewer demands desired documents from you. But you fail to present any such documentations and rather stress the interviewer to recruit you. You urge the authority to get you tested (through performance post-appointment) for the job with a course time during which you can prove your capabilities and skills.

And now the interviewer tells you,''Nay it is not the place (interview) to judge you by capabilities you conceal or are unexposed but it is a place to recruit you by performance you have already shown before, if you could present documents you may be in for job and otherwise discarded".

And now in Islamic context the analysis of the analogy: Here your interview is analogous to day of judgement and documents, your deeds that you have already performed in the material world. If you urge to your Lord, you were Muslim by heart but not actions ( without documents) and desire a destiny (job) in paradise, The most Wise will refuse you for the destiny in paradise. It the place of judgement on the basis of commanded performance and not for urging paradise by mere intentions (your job capabilities and skills) what were within your heart.

Dear Sister,I do not now what circumstances prevail by you,but I hope one day InshaAllah, you will be within the fold of Islam.

Regards.

It reminds me of Abu Talib who was not a muslim ,but he was always very helpful to the prophet :saw: and muslims and protected them and supported them, but he died on the religion of his father,as a disbeliever, and the prophet :saw: was sad for him.

Allah knows what is inside the hearts and we are not to judge anyone, for Allah is the best of judges. We see what is apparent but Allah is AAalimu alghaybi washshahadati[ the All-Knower of the unseen and the seen (open)].

May Allah accept your prayer for sister Jen and I pray for the same.Ameen.
May Allah reward you for your intention dear brother.Ameen.

I'm not what you believe

JenGiove, since you subscribed on tti,I found you a good person, full of interest about Islam, but the more time passed, more I saw that you weren't intentioned to follow this religion.indeed it's like you felt the desire to behave like us,but your roots as native american are very strong.I loved their culture when I was a girl(above all their long hair!).
what is telling your heart to you?what do you fear?you'd lose nothing if you accept to become muslimah.or maybe is the word "muslim" that makes you fear?If you'll have any thoughts or doubts, don't be afraid,I'll be happy to show you what I learnt...may Allah do His job to increase your faith.I thought from the first time that I would have done the possible to convince you that "La ilaha illa Allah",but maybe you'r not ready.may Allah bless you

Assalamu Aleykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakaathuh brother. Subhanallah, what an excellent example. :) I love the way that you feel so caring towards other people. May Allah (SWT) reward you for your efforts (and May He Reward all the Mumineen for their efforts also), Ameen. :)

I understand why a person would feel hesitant to become a Muslim (<one who is committed to living their life by the Commandments of Allah SWT), but it suprises me that someone would hesitate to become a Mumin (someone who has pure and true Beleif in Allah (SWT), His Messenger (SAW), and in the Hereafter).

Because it obviously takes DAYS or even YEARS for a person to REALLY become a Muslim, but it's EASY to become a Mumin.

As for sister JenGiove, I would like her to remind her about what Iman means:

(As far as I know,) The scholars of Aqidah (<The Islamic Idealogy, Creed, and Core Beleifs) stated that Eman exists in three: The heart, the tongue, and the actions

-Iman by the Heart (Itiq'ad)

-it reffers to the beleifs/faith that one has in their heart (the beleif in Allah (SWT), His Messengers, and the Hereafter)

-Taqwa (Conciousness of Allah (SWT)'s Awareness of Everything), Tawakul (Reliance upon Him and being patient with His Judgement), Shukr (Gratitude), Wala' wa Bara' (Loyalty and Disliking for His Sake), Khashi'ah (Fear of Allah due to His Majesticness), etc. stem from the heart, and it becomes manifest on a person's tongue and actions.

-Iman by the Tongue (Bi-lisaan)

When a person testifies with his tongue that Allah (SWT) is the only one worthy of worship and that Muhammad (SAW) is (truly) Allah (SWT)'s slave and Messenger, they become a Mumin and as Muslims, we judge such a person by the apparent (in other words, if such a person says the Shahadah, we accept them as being a Mumin and part of our family).

-Iman by the Actions (Amal)

-this reffers to when a person acknowledges and TRIES their BEST to fullfill the last four pillars-Praying 5x a day, paying (2.5% in) Zakat, fasting during Ramadan, and performing Hajj (once a lifetime, IF a person is able to).

-this also reffers to when a person tries to be obedient to Allah (SWT)
-if a person falls short in their Ebadah (worship), then ALL THEY HAVE TO DO is ask Allah (SWT) for forgiveness and try to do better next time.

But if a person dies without saying the Shahadah, then such a person is doomed FOREVER, and no matter WHAT this person DID or DOES in their lifetime, Allah (SWT) will NEVER show them Mercy, and He will NOT Forgive them (because they did not have Iman).

So anyway sister JenGiove, all I'm saying is that you should seriously do the right thing, and IF you feel that you "can't live you life by Islam" or "you can't make Islam to be your way of life," then ATLEAST have Iman in order that Allah (SWT) doesn't punish you. And please don't become a Muminah for any other reason except that you fear Allah (SWT)'s punishment and hope for His Favour & Mercy (in the Hereafter and in this world).

In the end, if you say your Shahadah, then nothing bad is going to happen to you. Your not going to get murdered or tortured to death (like the Sahaba (RA) and the Prophets) for saying the Shahadah.

And before I leave right now, I just wanted to let you know:

1.) That you should know by now that Islam IS the truth (and IF you don't know that, then please state the doubts etc. that you have)
2.) Muhammad (SAW) said that if a person hears about his Prophethood and then does NOT have Iman in him will be among the DWELLERS of the FIRE.
3.) The heat from the Fire of Jahanam is 70x hotter than the fire in this world.
4.) Your forefathers will NOT be there to intercede for you on the Day of Judgement if you turned away from Islam for their sake (nor will they carry the burden of your sins on the Day of Judgement)
5.) Allah (SWT) says:

(In Chapter 49)

Say: "Will you inform Allâh of your Deen (religion and way of life) While Allâh knows all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth? And Allâh is All-Aware of everything. (16)

(In other words, will a person have the audicity to live their life (and take their religion) in a way which Allah (SWT) did not prescribe for them? (example, if a person doesn't accept Islam as his religion but instead, he takes bits of Islam, mixes that with other religions and decides to follow THAT rather than the TRUE and PURE teachings of Islam, which Allah (SWT) revealed to them. And how can a person (who beleives in the Truth from Allah) do something like that? And Allah (SWT) knows everything that is in a person's heart).

(In Chapter 20):

""But whosoever turns away from My Reminder (i.e. neither believes in this Qur'ân nor acts on its teachings) verily, for him is a life of hardship, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection." (124) He will say:"O my Lord! Why have you raised me up blind, while I had sight (before)." (125) (Allâh) will say: "Like this, Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) came unto you, but you disregarded them (i.e. you left them, did not think deeply in them, and you turned away from them), and so this Day, you will be neglected (in the Hell-fire, away from Allâh's Mercy)." "

"100: Whoever turns away from it (this Qur'ân i.e. does not believe in it, nor acts on its orders), verily, they will bear a heavy burden (of sins) on the Day of Resurrection"

"They will abide in that (state in the Fire of Hell),— and evil indeed will it be that load for them on the Day of Resurrection; (101) The Day when the Trumpet will be blown (the second blowing): that Day, We shall gather the Mujrimûn (criminals, polytheists, sinners, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh) blue or blind eyed with thirst.[] (102) In whispers will they speak in a very low voice to each other (saying): "You stayed not longer than ten (days)." (103) We know very well what they will say, when the best among them in knowledge and wisdom will say: "You stayed no longer than a day!" (104) And they ask you concerning the mountains, say;"My Lord will blast them and scatter them as particles of dust. (105)"

:salam2: to all of you,

Jazakallah khair for your care and efforts. Yesterday morning when I woke and saw this thread I was speechless. Brother, you will never know how much charity you gave to me by creating this thread.

A few words that I've encountered that probably helps me express myself better than I can.

The Prophet also said: "Every act of goodness is charity." - Sahih Muslim, Hadith 496

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Charity is prescribed for each descendant of Adam every day the sun rises." He was then asked: "From what do we give charity every day?" The Prophet answered: "The doors of goodness are many...enjoining good, forbidding evil, removing harm from the road, listening to the deaf, leading the blind, guiding one to the object of his need, hurrying with the strength of one's legs to one in sorrow who is asking for help, and supporting the feeble with the strength of one's arms--all of these are charity prescribed for you." He also said: "Your smile for your brother is charity." - Fiqh-us-Sunnah, Volume 3, Number 98

"They ask you (O Muhammad) what they should spend in charity. Say: 'Whatever you spend with a good heart, give it to parents, relatives, orphans, the helpless, and travellers in need. Whatever good you do, God is aware of it.'" - The Holy Quran, 2:215

You brought a smile to my face in a moment and on a day that was needed. May Allah remember your charity...
