I can think of 'Khawarij'. A lecture on being beware of them and their ideology sounds plausible.
Are you sure it said 'Khawaru' ?
:salam2:I am sure, here is the flyer: http://i46.tinypic.com/350rxhh.jpg
Salam Alaikum wa rahmatu-llah
As far as I know, to follow the things of khawarij{hawarij were the descendents of a man named Dhul-Khuwaysarah} is called khawariji and the people of this group is called khawarij, that means prural.
O dont know a much details...but as far as i can remember....these people were a sect[another sect of Islam...oh Allah, save us from these], those were responsible for the death of many Campanions of Prophet salla Allahu alahi wa sallam.
they first accepted the fourth Caliph Ali Radhi Allahu anhu and accepted as the final righly guided, but later they rejected. they use to beleive the anyone can be a leader of Muslim, where as Shia's beleive that Ali radhi Allahu anhu is the only Imam.
Khawarijs are the extremist group....that's not my words....but they believe in fighting more that the study of Quran and Sunnah...they say moderate muslims are unbelievers and only the most pious man should be and only he can take the leadership, where as they counldnt come with the conclusion and never agreed that who is the most pious....
Usama bin Laden is from this group...as it is told by many scholars and many ppl say so
and Allah subhanahu wa ta'la knows the best
may ALlah save us from this kind of things
Jazaku Allahu Khair
wassalamu alaikum
As-salaamu `alaykum
This should completely answer your question:

By the way the guest speaker to that event, Abu Muhammad Al-Maghibi, is a good lecturer.

They center upon the following matters:
(1) Imputing kufr upon ‘Ali, ‘Uthmaan and other sahaabah (ra).
(2) The right to rebel and fight the Muslim rulers who may err or sin.
(3) They believe that the Qur’aan is created.
(4) They distort the meanings of Allaah’s Attributes by resorting to figurative interpretation.
(5) Like the twelver Shee’ites and other deviant sects, they deny that the believers will see Allaah on the Day of Resurrection. This contradicts what is asserted in the Qur’aan and authentic sunnah .
(6) Imputing kufr on the Muslims who commit major sins.
(7) The majority of the Khawaarij deny the actual punishment in the grave that Allaah inflicts upon those who deserve it.

Assalaamu alaykum,
MashaAllaah ! By Allaah, my 'laughs' was specifically addressed over the comment of sister 'seeking Allaah's mercy' as I find her comment bit funny. I admit that I should have to be a bit precise as the mode of thread is quite serious. There is no laughs over the brothers and my friends who are ever supportive here or any antism against the links.
take it as one of the drawback of forum communication, lol.
Salam Alaikum
there is a hadeeth of Prophet Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam:
there will be 71 sects in Jews, 72 sects in Christians and 73 sects in Muslims, all of these sects will go to the Hell except one group. the only group is who will follow the way of me and my sahaba.
there is nothing to be amazed, sister Seeking Allah's Mercy.
its so true and we have to admit that truth....and have to hold firmly the Sunnah of Prophet salla Allahu alahi wa sallam and the Sahabas{may Allah be pleased with them all} the way of Sahabas is the way of prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam....along with the Qur'anand Allah knows the best
Jazakum Allahu Khair
wassalamu alaikum
Salam Alaikum
I didnt get what you exactly said.....sister,....please make it clear....
I didnt want to hurt you or any other, I was just making it to pass though your throat. it is really a matter of concern that we are dividing too much, even more than the Jews and the Christian......but the Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam has worned this 1400years ago....
and I just didnt tell it you, it was also for my reminding, that to be safe, to be on the right path, we should hold the Quran and Sunnah firmly......and that's why he Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sllam made us aware of it.
sister, i didnt wanted to hurt you, or anyone else here...if you have hurted or anyone's hurted, please forgive me....my indication wasnt to anyone....I think everyone will get this and will have a forgiveful eye to me.
And Allah knows the best
jazakum Allahu Khair
wasslamu alaikum
