But why are there so many people in the world still seeking things like food and shelter? Since Allah SWT is the " Best of Providers" shouldn't He do something about all this problems ?

going to work, doing the house work, searching for rezk and everything u do in ur daily life is called ibadah.

of course Allah gives rezk to u,BUT U MUST WORK FOR IT.
if u wanna pass ur exam,ur suppose to study.u cant expect ur teacher to give u marks just because she is correcting ur paper.

Allah decides the rezk for each person.some people are rich and some are poor.being rich is a test from Allah.being fame is a test from Allah.

we have to work to get what we want.u obey Allah and do salah and everything to enter jannah aren't u?it is the same.Allah the provider of rezk yet u must work for it.

As-salamu alaikom brother,

I agree with all that sister revert 2007 just said: You have to go for your rizk (sustenance). But I'd like to add that the fact that some people can hardly acquire their basic needs, such as food and shelter, is meant to be a test for both the rich & the poor. The rich are tested to see if they'll help those poor people and the poor are tested to see if they will accept their destiny without complaint and be patient. And it is well known, both from the Quran and Sunnah, how generously will PATIENCE be rewarded in the hereafter.

as i hv said clearly Allah decides rezk for everyone. He plans everything we dont know why.for example why Allah choose muslim countries to have the largest petroleum?why muslim countries are not greeny?there is a reason.if africans are still surviving, and that is coz of Allah.perhaps others could quote evidence from quran. :)

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

«ذلِكَ فَضْلُ اللهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَنْ يَشَاء» This is the favor of Allah that He gives to whom He wills.)

Its just like saying why am i dark skinned and you are light skinned , why
is it rains alot Europe and not Africa ,. Why is that you have every part on you body and someone else is blind ,deaf or missing something on his / her body . Why is it that you beautiful and somebody is ugly .

All of this is sign from ALLAH AZA WAJALLAH so that we can contemplate and ponder . This is the power of ALLAH AZA WAJAllah

AND FOR MY PART AND YOUR PART IS TO THANK ALLAH AZA WAJALLAH FOR EVERYTHING THAT WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN FOR WE KNOW THAT WE ARE BLESSED . I sa ALLHAMDULLILAH FOR EVERYTHING YA ALLAH EVEN `THOUGH I AM UNGRATEFUL.

Can one ever thank Allah enough?

This question arises when one contemplates on one hand, the obligation of thanking Allah, and on the other hand, one’s lack of ability to thank Him enough.

Al-Fudhayl b. ‘Iyadh said: ‘Whoever recognises the bounties of Allah from His heart, and thereupon thanks Allah with his tongue, he would not finish thanking Allah, except that he sees more (of Allah’s bounties), for Allah ta’ala said: ‘If you be thankful, We will increase you (in bounty)’ (Ibrahim 7)

Imam Ahmad reports in his book Kitab al-Zuhd from al-Hasan that he said: Dawud said: ‘O my God, if every hair of mine had two tongues glorifying you night and day at all times, I would not have returned the favour of even one bounty’

Imam Ahmad also reports in the same book from al-Mughira b. Utba: When Allah revealed unto Dawud His statement: "Work O sons of Dawud with thanks! But few of My servants are grateful!", he said: ‘How can I be able to thank You? For You grant me Your bounties, then enable me to thank You for those bounties, due to which you grant me further bounties upon bounties?! All bounties are from You, O Lord! How can I be able to thank You?’ Allah replied: ‘Now, O Dawud, you have recognised me!’ (Kitab al-Zuhd p. 60)

I heard of a saying , I think its from the Quran that Allah SWT only wills good for us, and whatever bad happens is because of our own hands. So yea the situation in poor African countries , I believe, can be traced back to corruption. So I think all the statements that all of you made are wrong.

Akhi, if you are going to ask a question, then dont automatically refute those who answer with 'i think you are wrong'. You should take time to think, ponder, relfect and study! Look into what you ask, as well as what those who answer say.

I don't really have time to give a proper answer myself, but this is something i came across when searching and it has similar explanation. THe link is also provided so you can look it up for yourself as well:

1 – Teaching people to believe truly that provision comes from Allaah and that He is the Provider (al-Razzaaq), and every calamity that Allaah decrees is for a reason, and that the poor Muslim should be patient in bearing his calamity and strive to relieve himself and his family of poverty.

Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Verily, Allaah is the All‑Provider, Owner of Power, the Most Strong”

[al-Dhaariyaat 51:58]

“And no moving (living) creature is there on earth but its provision is due from Allaah. And He knows its dwelling place and its deposit (in the uterus or grave). All is in a Clear Book (Al‑Lawh Al‑Mahfooz — the Book of Decrees with Allaah)”

[Hood 11:6]

“Who is he that can provide for you if He should withhold His provision? Nay, but they continue to be in pride, and (they) flee (from the truth)”

[al-Mulk 67:21]

“And indeed We have honoured the Children of Adam, and We have carried them on land and sea, and have provided them with At‑Tayyibaat (lawful good things), and have preferred them above many of those whom We have created with a marked preferment”

[al-Isra’ 17:70]

It is because of these beliefs that a man should bear with patience whatever befalls him of the calamity of poverty, and turn to Allaah alone in seeking provision, and accept the decree of Allaah, and strive to earn a living.

It was narrated that Suhayb al-Roomi (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “How wonderful is the situation of the believer, for all his affairs are good. If something good happens to him, he gives thanks for it and that is good for him; if something bad happens to him, he bears it with patience, and that is good for him.” Narrated by Muslim (2999).

We can understand the effect of this belief on the Muslims by looking at what happens to others. In Japan – for example – in 2003 thirty-three thousand people committed suicide! And one of the main reasons for that was unemployment. In a report on the BBC website on 1/9/2004 they said:

Official statistics show that thirty-three thousand people killed themselves last year in Japan. Japanese officials say that one of the reasons for this rise in the suicide rate is the economic recession that Japan is facing, which is regarded as the worst in fifty years. This has led to an unprecedented rise in unemployment as well as a rise in cases of depression, especially among middle-aged men. End quote.

Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Truly, your Lord enlarges the provision for whom He wills and straitens (for whom He wills). Verily, He is Ever All‑Knower, All‑Seer of His slaves”

[al-Isra’ 17:30].

Ibn Katheer (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

The words of Allaah “Truly, your Lord enlarges the provision for whom He wills and straitens (for whom He wills)” tell us that He, may He be exalted, is the Provider, the Withholder and the Bestower, Who deals with His creation as He wills. He grants independence of means to whomsoever He wills and makes poor whomsoever He wills, with wisdom in that. Hence He says “Verily, He is Ever All‑Knower, All‑Seer of His slaves” i.e., He knows and sees who deserves to be rich and who deserves to be poor.

In some cases wealth may be a means of letting people get carried away in sin and poverty may be a punishment. We seek refuge with Allaah from both.

Tafseer Ibn Katheer (5/71).

if ur saying about corruption what about Dubai the very rich country.what about US itself.Americans are living good life even there are many corruptions in US?Allah has decided certain things for certain countries.Africa has many diamonds yet they are poor.why?not all Africans are poor.u have to see each and everything in smaller picture before making the huge conclusion that Africans are poor.yes mostly they are because their economy is slow.and they don't hv much greeny lands.Allah has created their country in such a way for some reason, only Allah knows.well if u think we have been giving wrong answers, then we ourselves would wanna know the answer.if u found somewher else, just plz let us know.

the conclusion. For every creation,Allah has His own reasons that we as humans can't understand and will be more confused if we keep on questioning.

to Allah we belong
if i imprison a cat without giving it food and water and it dies. will u blame Allah or me?

same way, Allah has produced so much food for us. but the rich ones prefer throwing it instead of giving to poor. so who should i blame?

Well, I wonder, brother, why are u asking if you already know the answer to your question? Anyway, here's a nice reminder for all of us:

Allah, the Exalted, says:

"And lower your wings for the believers (be courteous to the fellow-believers).'' (15:88)

"And had you been severe and harsh-hearted, they would have broken away from about you.'' (3:159)

693. `Adi bin Hatim (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Guard yourselves against the Fire (of Hell) even if it be only with half a date-fruit (given in charity); and if you cannot afford even that, you should at least say a good word.''[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Itz good that u r contemplate upon the sufferings of our brethren in other nations who dont get enough to eat or have no shelter..!!

Verily Allah is the sole Priovider and the best as well..
Havent u read about the sufferings of Prophets?the tough ordeal they went through?
Even Our Beloved Last Prophet,MOHAMMAD(SAW) had to suffer a lot in HIS life..Someone WHO is the BELOVED of ALLAH(SWT)..

Dear, for the Ummah,if therz suffering of any kind,be that for food/shelter/employemnt/personal life-domestic issues, whatever;all is a test from Allah to test our patience and perseverence.Above all to test our FAITH in HIM....
