to alls,the Holy Quran has a Surat which titles Al-Ankabut.It is put in evidence the importance of this insect during the escape of the Prophet SAWS.
I thought to insert this thread,cause I would like to know if is there among my brothers and sisters in Islam someone who is scared by spiders and what should he/she do if one of them is climbing on the clothes or it is too close to him/her.
I can tell that I am so terrified by spiders,that my skin trembles even if I only look to a photo or if I talk about it!and you?what do you feel?

In my case......im just like BADTASTEBEARS.
Actually Im ok with spiders and okk with cockroaches...
But when cockroache starts to fly...dont know why....all cockroaches targets me/my body....yukk....I just hate the cockroches as they live is....yukk yukk...

though its a creature of Allah SWT...we actually dont know how are they beneficial to us/our environment....Allahu Alim......someday inshallah that will also come into our sight.

I don't like spiders :| They give me the cringe and I don't like looking at them either. D:

Once, there was a huge spider in my room and I ran and told my dad but when he went in the room, the spider disappeared. So for about 2 weeks, I slept on the other side of the bed, so that my feet is where my head should be. Then one day, I went to swtich the light off, and my little sister screamed, I turned around and she was pointing at the spider. So because I was next to the door, I turned the light off and ran out, leaving her inside Then my dad grabbed it with a tissue and I think he threw it in the bin.

Is it permissable in Islam to kill insects, even if they are not poisonous?

I don't know if it is allowed to kill the spiders,but in a moment like that,I really don't think to anyhting:sometimes I kill them with what I find around my sight,some other times I shout and run around like a mad.I remember one day when I was 13years old,I was playing with my brothers,when the youngest one told me<Stop walking cause you have a spider on your trousers>...I started running as fast as I could,cause I was scared.Why does a creature of Allah give a sensation like fear?

Spiders terrify me and my #2 roommate. We both scream like little girls when we see one. Just this morning I saw a big puffy one in the corner of my bathroom and I sprayed it with Raid. I live in an area infested with black widows. They are only deadly to children but they do inflict a painful and very poisonous bite that always requires an ambulance and emergency room visit.

On the other hand I am also fascinated with them... I love watching programs on National Geographic or on Discovery about spiders. I just don't like seeing it in my bathroom

i am not afraid of any insect .. allhamdulillah..
i had been living in an area where snakes and these type of insects were a normal thing.

You was talking about spider let see.... to me spider are ok especially that creepy crawler Spiderman..... watch the movie over and over again a no no to nightmare or whatsoever so trust me they r friendly creature and lifesaver... so don't be scared over them,sister

so I'm not the only one who is scared by spiders!!!they give a terrible sensation when I see them climbing on the wall or while building their web.It's horrible,but on the other side I should not judge a creature of Allah about its shape or about what it lets feel to me.I only made a soggettive consideration,cause I was trying to see if talking about my worst of the fears,it might have decreased......But it's impossible to erase the arachnophoby from my DNA!I was born the this fear,I hope that at least in my grave there will be no spider making my scream!

Fear is the consequence of a creative mind. Claiming it is DNA bound is only a way for the weak to prove to themselves that it is not them who is the problem

As for the incident of the spider when the prophet and Abu-Bakr entered the cave, then Sheikh Albanee and others said that it's evidence is weak. Then there are other fabricated claims that a pigeon or another bird came and rested at the mouth of the cave, etc, etc.

That's easy to explain.

Let's say I hear of a criminal in the news, and I see a picture of him. Now my mind registers this is a dangerous individual and I am not a criminal myself nor am I armed, I have nothing to protect myself against him if we were to meet.

Now imagine I am walking down the street and I run into him. I am going to be terrified because I don't know what he is going to do to me.

Yet.. he is still a human and I am walking around humans all day and I am not scared of them. When confronted by a deer, I am not scared. When confronted by a sheep, I am not scared. Why only this criminal, who is just another human?

Same logic can be applied to any specific fear: at some point in your life either you saw images of spiders biting and poisoning someone, or you spent a lot of time listening to or talking to those who constantly speak of their fear of spiders. Natural instinct can be influenced in these manners.

Some people go to therapy to cure fears, I say if you think you are smart enough you can overcome it easily. Step number one to eliminating the fear: stop saying or talking about your fear of spiders. Do not say "omg i am so scared of spiders", this makes it worse and it does not help you. Realize that a spider is very small, that you can crush it with your finger, that even if it bites you it won't kill you, it won't even harm you. Constantly say to yourself in your mind "I am not scared of spiders". Everytime you remember spiders or see a picture, say this.

There is a cure for every sickness, and a solution to every problem.

hey,you are right!I never thought so,but I remember me when I was a girl of 5/6 years,I faced to a cobweb that touched my face and from that moment I was scared by spiders.Now I feel well,I always felt so little in front of them,that I didn't think that I'm stronger and I can overcome to them.
