Everytime the topic of businesswomen in Islam is talked about.. Khadija (RA) 's name is mentioned. But she was a businesswoman before she accepted Islam. So I'm wondering, is it permissible for Muslim women of this age to be a businesswoman? And does she have the rights to work outside.. in a female based environment?
Please cite Quranic verses and Hadith is possible.

Asalaamu Alaikum,

Pretty sure Khadija(ra) was a business woman even after she accepted Islam. I believe she was the first one to accept Islam.

Always remember, there is a major rule in Usool Al Fiqh. Everything is halal unless mentioned otherwise.

There really isn't anything at all in Islam that prohibits it. Some may argue that women shouldn't do it if they're mixing with men, but you just said it would be in a women's environment... so there goes that argument. Many early Muslim women were merchants and business women, etc.
