As'alaamu Alaikkum Wa Rahamatullahi Wa Barakatuhu

The following is just conjucture on my part and I ask all my brothers and sisters to forgive me if they find it inappropriate and I ask Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala to forgive me if what I write is in error.

I'd like to think that one of the Semitic language was given to Adam (pbuh) just after he was created and Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala communicated with him through the angels with one of the Semitic language. We know that most of the prophets of Allah spoke and wrote in Hebrew, so it is safe to assume that Abraham, Noah et all (peace be upon them all) spoke one of the Semitic languages and logically this will lead all the way back to Adam (pbuh). We also know that prophet Isa (pbuh) spoke in the Aramaic language, and later prophet Muhammed (pbuh) comunicated in the Arabic language.

Isn't really strange that Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala only chose people from the Arabian Peninsula who were Semites? I often wonder why a person from India or China, for example, were never chosen to spread His word. So by definition, the Semites and their language are very special. It is also interesting that the written form of His words are only revealed in the Hebrew and Arabic languages.

Allahu Alum!

Assalamu Alaikum: Br.

Every kind of Ilm on our planet since inception of humanity is from Allah (SWT). Just go to Aayatul-Kursi everything would be transparent.

Regards.

There were prophets in different ares of the world but they had to spread the message to their own nation/community only.We only know about the one we were told about.

As'alamu Alaikkum

I diagree with this statement, there are a lot of people with this view so let me give you my stance.

I believe that when Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala says that messengers were sent to every nation, I think that it was to communities within the Arabian Peninsula. After the Great Flood humanity had to start all over again and there were only pockets of civilisations within the Arabian Peninsula, so when they eventually spread out to the neighbouring areas they, once again. began to forget about Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala and worshipped idols. Hence this was the reason those messengers were sent, and I believe withing the Arabian Peninsula. I'd also like to believe that all of the prophets are mentioned by name in the Bible and in the Holy Qur'an therefore we have a comprehensible list of ALL the prophets.

Allahu Alum!

The above is just my thoughts and may Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala forgiv me for any errors or any misguidance.

This is what most of the people said in a poll I conducted in another forum. But surely, most languages are derived from other languages where bits and peices have been 'stolen'. The reason for this blog and poll is to ask if it's possible that Adam (pbuh) and all prophets spoke the Semitic languages and if it's possible that Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala only used the Semites as prophets and messengers.

i appreciate your thirst for knowledge mashaAllah, but we cannot believe things based on our thoughts...in other words,we are not to assume things..

so,making a poll on the language of adam(as) will not help in sha Allah...we need proof to back up what we believe from reliable sources, not from laymen like us in forums voting what would be the language..

we all just cannot agree that this would have been the language...we can believe ony in the truth...

This was just a light hearted poll to ask what people thought. If it's upsetting then ask admin to delete it.

I am sure all languages are a gift from Allah...

Ditto.

And you have to be careful when you talk about stuff like this because it can really easily cross the line from appreciating the languages and cultures into feeling superior to others.
