Yes....I mean to wear it in our body,in the form of an amulet or something like that.I'm from India and it is a common thing among people to write qur'anic verses in a paper and fold and keep it inside a metal frame and wear it as a locket for a chain.I consider it as haram.what i really want to know is whether there is any Hadith giving light to this.

:wasalam: Sister Shimfa;

Why do you not ask the Mullaas who preach this?
Well, if you ask questions they will brand you as "WAHHAABI".

Of course, there are some suras to be recited to have certain shifaa as well as protection. Inshaa Allaah, we can look into them a little later.

First, please ask the one to come with evidences.

Salaam Sister,

I think it is forbidden but I am not a scholar to confirm that. Last time, I was offerred a particular amulet in a form of a wrapped coin which supposedly has been used to pray with. Then all I have to do is clip it on my clothes so that I would be safe wherever I go. To me, I don't think that is necessary because saying the dua should be more than sufficient. Why should there be a need to pin it on my clothes or paste it on my body etc? I felt like as though I was relying more on the object than the dua itself and that's syirik (it is right?). But to reiterate, I am not qualified on this topic.

Many are the Jinns and men We have made for Hell: they have hearts wherewith they understand not, eyes wherewith they see not, and ears wherewith they hear not. They are like cattle, nay more misguided: for they are heedless (of warning).

Dear all,
Assalamu Alaikum Varahmathullahi Vabarakathuhu

Jazakumallah Qair.I'm 101% convinced that it is prohibited to wear the holy verses in any form on our body .I got it from a friend who regularly sends me islamic based e-mails.She has Nazeehath towards all and I dont want to hurt her feelings, but at the same time I do want to correct her misconception. That's why I posted it here so that I can show her the replies.

I know about the importance of certain suras like Fathiha,Yaseen,Muvadhadathaini and verses like Ayathul kursi etc.

What we really want to know is ,Is it o.k to have a special niyyat while reciting a particular Sura. For eg, if some one is suffering from a head ache and he reads the sura thakazur believing that he'll get cure from it,is it a form of bid'a? I hope you got my point.

Is there any Hadith which says the benefits of each and every suras as mentioned in my post?

May Allah Subhanahu va tha a la join us together in his paradise,

Va ssalam.

Writing aayahs and tying them on one’s body

What is the ruling on writing Qur’aan or dhikr on pieces of paper and attaching them to parts of the body such as the chest etc., or folding them and putting them on one’s molars, or writing some parts of prescribed du’aa’s and wrapping it in leather and putting it under one’s bed or elsewhere, or hanging up amulets if they contain Qur’aan, dhikr or du’aa’?
-------------------------------------------------
Praise be to Allaah.

Attaching pieces of paper on which are written verses from the Qur’aan or du’aas to the body or some part of it, or putting them under the bed, etc., is not permitted, because it comes under the category of hanging up amulets which is forbidden by the hadeeth of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him):

“”Whoever hangs up amulets, may Allaah not fulfil his need.”

And:

“Incantations, amulets and being attached to tangible things are shirk.”

And Allaah knows best.

Yes it's only Bid'ah and I have post there which I know from Hadits, the hadits about the Fadhilah of Yasin is Dha'if, only ahlul hadits who could talk about this, and the rawi of every hadits about Yasin is dha'if.
But when read Yasin, then Christian will ask who are the people in that chapter?

Writing aayahs and tying them on one’s body

Praise be to Allaah.

Attaching pieces of paper on which are written verses from the Qur’aan or du’aas to the body or some part of it, or putting them under the bed, etc., is not permitted, because it comes under the category of hanging up amulets which is forbidden by the hadeeth of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him):

Imam Ibn Taymiyya (Allah have mercy on him) writes in his Fatawa:

“It is permissible for an ill or troubled person, that certain verses from the Qur’an are written with pure ink, then it is washed and given to the ill to drink. Ibn Abbas (Allah be pleased with him) is reported to have mentioned a certain Dua that should be written and placed close to the woman who is experiencing hard labour at the time of giving birth.
Sayyiduna Ali (Allah be pleased with him) says: This Dua should be written and tied to the arm of the woman. We have experienced that there is nothing more amazing than this” (Fatawa Ibn Taymiyya, 19/65).

Imam Ibn Taymiyya’s student Imam Ibn al-Qayyim also narrates the permissibility of using Ta’wizes from a number of salafs including the great Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal (Allah have mercy on him). Thereafter Ibn al-Qayyim himself quotes various Ta’wizes (Zad al-Ma’ad, 3/180).

Abdul Qadir Al Jilani (not Jaelani actually) was in aqidah of Salafiyyah, but his successor made his teaching as Sufi based on their own Bid'ah and syaikh Abdul Qadir Al Jilani is free from that, as the brothers of Yusuf were free from the blood of wolves.

WHo is talking about sh abdul qadir(rh)? did you even read properly last post my beloved sheikh?

That saying from ibn Abbas must be check about the authenticity because it was in opposition to atsar from ibn Mas'ud.

And what about ali(rd) statement? and how come Ibn taymiyah(rh),Ibn qayyum(rh) , imam ahmad(rh) allowed it? They are allowing shirk asghar!!!

daywalker

Junior Member
My beloved Syaikh, ibn Mas'ud was our syaikh.

That saying from ibn Abbas must be check about the authenticity because it was in opposition to atsar from ibn Mas'ud.

There are some hadith which contradict with each other. Practise which one you want, but people must Fear before he gives rules other hadith as prohibite form.Only Allah has the authority to make something haram.

Encourage people to stick with sunnah, but as long as practise and athar from sahaba(rd) present, we should be carefull to give fatwa against it.

Me never touched amulets in my life, but i Fear Allah to prohibite something which is done by sahaba(rd).

daywalker

Junior Member
Choose whoever opinion while me also never touch an amulet from Al Qur'an, stay also in the opinion that Shahaba never do such things, instead they prohibited the use of Al Qur'an as Tiwalah.

Assalamu'alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh,
:salam2:
Jazakallahu khair for coming now to a Fair view. We should put both views first and then encourage to practise sunnah, instead saying so and so is bidah, shirk, haram ....... Verily Allah will ask whatever we write in the forum.

PS: what means Tiwalah sheikh?

daywalker

Junior Member
Laa, I don't say that both opinion are right. I chose Shimfa opinion that it is Haram, and by the way, eventhough hospitality, softness are important, Rasulullah said that the ones will be in the highest Jannah will be those who Nahi Munkar,Tiwalah is like what a wife wear as amulet to make the husband love her, that atsar from ibn Mas'ud is Shahih.

Here I put the writings to support not to make someone as Ma'shum eventhough he is an Ulama as caliber as ibn Taimiyah, and people should know the rule in Ushul Fiqh "When there is dalil which prohibit something than that dalil must be use instead of which allows."

What do you say or not, doesnt matter sheikh. Matter is to prove what exist in the shariah. What i dont believe , doesnt mean it also doesnt exist. And in my post there wasn´t opinion of imam ibn taymiyah(rh) only, ibn qayyum(rh) and imam ahmad´s(rh) also present. More 100 scholars i can also present here, but who want to be FAIR one evidence is enough. Who doesnt want to be Fair, 100 evidence is also not enough to convience him.

daywalker

Junior Member
Now present the atsar from ibn Mas'ud inside their writing. If doesn't exist, then in Ushul Fiqh the rule is "Someone who know become hujjah to those who don't know."

the rule in Ushul Fiqh "When there is dalil which prohibit something than that dalil must be use instead of which allows."

As long as we are not able to judge things with usool fiqh, and 100 scholars ray being it permissible is present, i dont need to get knowledge from someone who is from 20th century. Jazakallahu khair.

People has their choice to follow the Ijtehad and understanding of scholars fron 20th century or from those who were near to salaf.

And dont forget sheikh to comment about ali(rd) statement, and how Ibn taymiyah(rh),ibn qayyum(rh),imam ahmad(rh),ibn abidin(rh) overcome this usool fiqh which is state by you. As a student of knowledge i can only hear and not speak. So dont expect any answer from me =)

'Ali and Fathimah ra were the ahlul bait, and that also from Husain and Hasan.

Utsman ra, Ruqayyah and Ummu Kultsum and their children were also from ahlul bait.

Nashab only support those who do righteous deeds right?

Nashab doesn't support those who do not care of Ushul, like don't put Khurafat, Takhyul and stories which mix between falsehood and truth right?

Nashab doesn't support people to follow someone who claim he got ilham, right?

syaikh Abdul Qadir Al Jilani has an opinion on people who claim that they accept Ilham from Allahu Ta'ala in Al Ghunyah.

Assalamu'alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh.

Dont know about which thing you are talking about, and how you come to the topic of sh.abdul qadir(rh). It isn´t necessary to answer you now. you may ask your ustaz first, and if u feel soemthing necessary to responce then share it with us inshallah.
