thats not true. am guessing that u r visiting non-muslim sites. i pray for u that Allah alimghty, excalted guides u to the right path. i'm hoping that someday u find the true path insha Allah( god willing)......:)

I think I have read it in "Mohammed by Karen Armstrong" or in "Koran for Dummies by Shoaib Sulthan" or in any of the websites .I may b wrong since I have read these long time ago.
I will read "Mohammed by Karen Armstrong" again,maybe later.I loved this book.It was as if we were with Mohammed.It was so realistic.And it was not Anti-Islamic at all.It really showed me how Mohammed lived,his struggles and his success.

secondaly there is no verses that overide others, certain verses did come before later but when the Quran was finished that was it - the religion was perfected as the Quran says.

unlike the bible which is written by different men in different cultures, times and places - the Quran came to Muhammad (pbuh) a prophet of God and told the messege perfectly not just to the muslims but the non muslims including the people of the book like yourself.

Question - Have you read the english translation of the Quran???

No my sister,you dont know me.When I say Im stupid or dumb,I mean it.Im sorry if I made you angry,but whats the use of saying sorry,when I will repeat it?Its your wish to respond or not,but please dont take my comments seriously even if, I was serious.May be God has a purpose for me,God willing I may have to find it by myself or by someone else.Thanks 4 ur prayers.

I had a Quran,which my father brought once in our home.It had both English and Arabic Translation.The top right corner of the Book was eaten by mice or something and it was 100-150 pages deep.I dont know from where did he bring it.May be the mice wanted 2 be religious or something..hee! But this was 7 or 8 years ago.My father later died,and I dont know where the Book is now.

The "rival" texts of the Quran were variants readings where the different communitys, with different dialects of the arabic language had re-written the Quran in their own "lugha" of Arabic. Today, we see Egyptian, Palestinian, and so on, accents of the Arabic language. In order to preserve the Quran in its fullest, Uthman had those variant readings burnt, because they weren't the exact eloquent words uttered by the Angel Gabriel to Muhammad. If you had the Quran converted to an Egyptian Arabic dialect, it won't but the Quran anymore. The English version of the Quran, is NOT the Quran. It is a translation of it, and interpretation. Therefore, there is no such thing as a rival text of the Quran, anymore. Those that were burnt were merely a conversion of the dialects which had left them in a fumble, which is something similar to what had happend to the Bible, expect the Quran was preserved from that type of jumbo. Now, today, worldwide all the Muslims read from the same Quran, unaltered. It is in the classical arabic text, which is the eloquent, unparalleled, miraculous, unmatched Quran.

Yes it is true, Uthman had burned the Quranic readings that had been changed via dialect conversion. If he diden't do that, and let the Quran wander through all the different readings than the original would be a minority. Thats the least thing we want.

salaam well put, Uthman standardised the Quran with the dialect of the Qurish which is the tribe the prophet Muhammad came from, therefore that Quran today is the real and ultimate Quran - as Waseem203 said all the other translations are not the real Quran but are stll good to read for us non arabs to understand the meaning of the Quran - However the real Quran is in arabic.

Allah-the one God


Belief in one God, Allah in Arabic, constitutes the very foundation of Islam. There is no deity except Allah. He is indivisible and absolutely transcendent. God is the Almighty, the Creator and the Sustainer of the universe, Who is similar to nothing and nothing is comparable to Him.

The basic message of Islam is that God (Allah in Arabic) and His creation are distinctly different entities. Neither is Allah His creation or a part of it, nor is His creation Him or a part of Him. This might seem obvious, but, man's worship of creation instead of the Creator is to a large degree based on ignorance of this concept. It is the belief that the essence of Allah is everywhere in His creation or that His divine being is or was present in some aspects of His creation, which has provided justification for the worship of creation, though such worship may be called the worship of Allah through his creation.

However, the message of Islam as brought by the prophets of Allah is to worship only Allah and to avoid the worship of his creation either directly or indirectly.
