Salam Alaikum,
Just stop complaining! My fiance chose me and only want one good pious wife alhamdulillah! This practice was used by men during war, when many men were killed in battle and there were more women than men, so women had no husbands to marry or their husbands were killed, so a man married at least 4 women so he could support them financially, and help them. They didn't want to be alone their whole lives. Sister, this is a temporary adobe. I look forward to the hereafter and I pray Allah (SWT) grant me and all those who He loves Jannah inshallah!

There is a loong way between being able to have four wives (or, like in most cases, two), and to actually DO it...

The Qur'an is the only religious book that RESTRICTS the number of women men can marry to 4. No other religion says that a man can't marry more than one. What you see today are laws made by people/countries which say that a man can have only one wife. Christians revere Solomon (PBUH)...didn't he have several hundred wives? Also remember that "allowing" multiple wives is different than "encouraging" someone to have multiple wives. The reasons why it is allowed in Islam are too many to mention here and we will go off the topic that you started if we begin discussing them.

IF he did it. He threatens it all the time for various reasons....."This is why god said I can have 4 wives." These are all the things that culminate in my marriage because of what I see from Imed. Because I am tired a particular night he threatens this. I don't mean to complain, but want to understand where his sense of entitlement comes from and he always says from Allah.

The reason behind having 4 wifes is not because of the biological desire of men ,it is towards the compation to the orphans and widows ,the families that are left without no support or means to live .
And of course if someone wants to have more then one wife for any other reaon,its permissible .But the condition is that the man has to be just with them and treat them equaly .For example if he buys a house for one he has to buy the same one for the other wife not worse then for first one ,if he buys a gift for one he has to be the same one for other one ,not any cheaper..
Not everyone will want to do that,unless if he financially able to...
In now days polygamy is very rear.
Allah SWT has the perfect wisdom and knowledge of everything .He created us and He knows our needs best ...

So let me add a little humor here......I would like a wife........so I would have someone to cook and clean for me! To have my needs met! Hee hee! Just being sarcastic here, not really! I am just in this rut and I can't go backwards and I can't move forward (without a high price to pay).

The man has to be a man first and know his religion and manners ,before talking about having other wifes.I dont think even one can support him alone,by what u are saying about him ,sorry to be harsh ,Im not judging him

As the prophet S.a.w said that we are all born Muslim we are All born with a "fitra"with the natural awareness that there is only one god eternal,uncreated and sovereign in his authority! that natural awareness has been put in us by god himself!it manifests itself through this need that we have to wanna know and search about Allah swt. When he created our souls and gathered all of us and asked us to bear witness that there is no god but Him!(See The Holy Quran 5:7)and then he put us to rest this was our first death in the kingdom of Allah swt and not here on earth!and then gave us life again by putting the soul into the fetus and there we go as simple guests through this journey of life,until we reach a certain age and die to be held accountable of what we did of all the things he has provided us with.Thus on that day the disbelievers will say"Our lord you have given us death twice and you gave us two lives,now we have confessed our sins,is there any way out?"(Holy Quran 40:11).
"If Islam means the submission to the will of god than we all live and die in Islam"(Johan Wolfgang Von Goethe) in the end we are all submitted to the will of Allah swt whether we like it or not , whether we recognize it in time or not, is up to us and that`s another story...
