i have seen many people cursing leaders, actors/actresses, etc. is it not better to pray for their guidance?

praying for them can open their hearts and bring closer to Islam.

Asalaamu Alaikum,

Don't curse.

'A'isha said, "A party of Jews asked permission to go to Muhammad, and said, 'Death upon you.' And I answered their insult by saying, 'Rather upon you be death and curse.' Then Muhammad said, 'Be mild O A'isha! and make a point of being kind, and withhold thyself from speaking harshly.' I said, 'Did you not hear what they said?' He said, 'Verily, I do always say,' "Be the same to you."'

And

It was said to the Rasul, "O Messenger of God! Curse the infidels." Muhammad said, "I am not sent for this; nor was I sent but as mercy to mankind."

"What is the ruling of cursing the sinner of (the command of) Allaah in a certain matter, even if the sin was minor"?

Sinning is known (by) abandoning that which is obligatory (upon oneself) or doing that which is prohibited, and the sinner from amongst the Muslims is advised, and advising is obligatory upon every Muslim according to his ability.

The Messenger of Allaah (sal-Allaahu 'alayhe wa sallam) said:

((He who amongst you sees something abominable should modify it with the help of his hand; and if he has not strength enough to do it, then he should do it with his tongue; and if he has not strength enough to do it, (even) then he should (abhor it) from his heart and that is the least of faith.)), [transmitted by Muslim, 49]

and (Allaah) The Most High says:

{Help you one another in al-Birr and at-Taqwa (virtue, righteousness and piety)}, [Soorah al-Maa.idah, Aayah 2]

As for backbiting the Muslim, then that is prohibited even if he was a sinner, unless if someone sought your advice for (an issue related to) a transaction, then it is upon you to explain.

Islam is a way of life
It's good you asked this, insha'Allah it will be benefical to people.
I have heard many Muslims curse others not knowing whether it was right or wrong.

Nothing but Muslimah
As Muslims were being persecuted, tortured and boycotted, the Prophet (PBUH), stood up in Watr prayer and asked God to curse some polytheists by name. Shortly after, God revealed,

"Not for you is the decision whether He should [cut them down] or forgive them or punish them, for indeed, they are wrongdoers. " (3:128)

The Prophet (PBUH) stopped immediately.

We all know the stories of Umar ibn Al-Khattaab and Khaalid ibn Al-Waleed, may God have been pleased with them. Nobody but God knows what somebody will become, thus cursing them is a judgment that must be reserved to God.

JAZAKALLAKU KHAIR for this information, I did never know it
