Salam everyone - I was talking with my sister-in-law and remembered this little discussion that 2 litle first-grade boys had in my classroom last year (they are about 6 years old).
Matthias was a Catholic from South Africa.
Ahmed was a Muslim Kuwaiti
The kids had just printed a picture from the Internet (their lesson for the day - I am a computer teacher) and were sitting on the floor in groups sharing crayons and colored pencils to color their pictures.
Matthias was coloring and just casually asked Ahmed, "Did you go to church yesterday?" (remember, these are 6 year-olds!)
Ahmed kept coloring and said, "No, I went to mosque with my baba. We prayed like this..." and he turned and literally bonked his head on the ground.
Matthias said, "We pray like this..." and he quickly did the sign of the cross saying, "The father, son, and holy ghost"
Ahmed's eyes popped open, "Holy Ghost?"
Matthias said, "Yeah, but I have never seen the ghost."
Ahmed replies, "Maybe the holy ghost only comes out on Halloween."
To which Matthias says, "Yep, I think so! That's why we have Halloween, I think."

I just thought it was a cute story - just shows that kids can have religious discussions without arguing and fighting (and they can apply their little 6 year old logic! LOL!)
