Cute story from my classroom

Salam everyone - I was talking with my sister-in-law and remembered this little discussion that 2 litle first-grade boys had in my classroom last year (they are about 6 years old).

Matthias was a Catholic from South Africa.
Ahmed was a Muslim Kuwaiti

The kids had just printed a picture from the Internet (their lesson for the day - I am a computer teacher) and were sitting on the floor in groups sharing crayons and colored pencils to color their pictures.

Matthias was coloring and just casually asked Ahmed, "Did you go to church yesterday?" (remember, these are 6 year-olds!)

Ahmed kept coloring and said, "No, I went to mosque with my baba. We prayed like this..." and he turned and literally bonked his head on the ground.

Matthias said, "We pray like this..." and he quickly did the sign of the cross saying, "The father, son, and holy ghost"

Ahmed's eyes popped open, "Holy Ghost?"

Matthias said, "Yeah, but I have never seen the ghost."

Ahmed replies, "Maybe the holy ghost only comes out on Halloween."

To which Matthias says, "Yep, I think so! That's why we have Halloween, I think."

~~~~~~~~~
I just thought it was a cute story - just shows that kids can have religious discussions without arguing and fighting (and they can apply their little 6 year old logic! LOL!)
Fantastic, it made me laugh as well as it shows how kids want to make everything clear with a logical explanation. There is a lesson for grown ups
Thanks for sharing it, wonderful
Ah... that was so sweet, Masha Allah....
I have a couple so I will try to be brief, from my son Mounir and Islamic Sunday school :)
Last year they were telling the kids the story of Prophet Noah, peace be upon him and the Ark. My son was five at the time.... Well, it got to the part about all the non-believers drowning... My son looked disturbed (I sit in to learn also....lol) and he said:
"I don't like that all those people drowned....." and I retorted "But only the bad people drowned!" to which he said "Yippeee!" LOL :)
Also, he was not impressed with the idea that Prophet Ibrahim was going to kill his son to show his love for Allah and said if his father tried that, there would be a fight :)
Lastly, there is a boy in his public school class that speaks arabic too. I was explaining to Mounir that when they serve pizza he has to make sure he chooses cheese pizza and avoids pepperoni.... He said, "But George eats pepperoni and he is Muslim too".... I said just because he speaks arabic, it does not mean he is Muslim, to which he replied "He should be!"...LOL..... :)
And there are so many more but I tried to be brief, LOL!!
