:salam2:
today, i viewed a very controversial film by Dutch politician and director Geert Wilders titled “ FITNA “ . the reason for the controversy is for the film’s blatant attack on islam. the film isn’t an attack on radical islam, it’s an attack on islam in general. the film was created truly to not only incite muslims but also to enrage non-muslims against muslims. when disparaging images of Islam's holiest prophet, and quranic text are taken out of context; people are going to react negatively.
i did learn something from watching this film. i learned about how important it is for us muslims to gain proper knowledge of islam in order to properly defend islam. all of the verses cited in his film were taken completely out of context. as someone that knows the quran, as a muslim that reads and recited the quran on a regular basis; the film was very frustrating to me. it wasn’t because i was angry because he was telling the truth. i was angry because i knew that he wasn’t telling the truth. i also have a great knowledge of the bible; and i know that there are countless numbers of verses that can be deemed to be violent. yet they are never cited, mostly because they are contained in the old testament. a section of the bible that most christians tend to ignore. if we muslims really wanted to, we could do the same thing. but we don’t. why? because we aren’t interested in the bible. we have the truth in the quran.
the film mostly wanted to portray muslims as terrorists and a group of people bent on conquering the world. we muslims know that terrorism isn’t a part of islam; yet not enough of us are speaking out against terrorism. yes, we would like to conquer the world with islam, just like the christian missionary believes that christianity needs to rule the world. let it be said that islam is not a religion of the arabs, pakistanis, blacks, or chinese. islam is a religion for mankind. so yes, i want to see it reign supreme all over the globe, not only because I'm concerned about the fate of every soul, but i believe so because i want all of us to please ALLAH SWT.
it is true that there are many non muslims negatively affecting us, but there are also an equal number of muslims negatively affecting us as well. they are those muslims that have used islam as a tool to hide their sinister political agenda. not only do uneducated muslims take them to be doing islamic things, but non muslims with no islamic knowledge see the bad Muslim's negative behavior as something islamic. thus making events like 9/11 or 7/7 justifiable, when they should be appalled. the other groups of muslims that are hurting the muslims are those that do not try to emulate the quran and the sunnah. muslims that are open in their committing of zinaa. muslim liquor store owners, women shunning their hijab to appear like the non muslim woman. brothers that are ashamed to wear a beard and other things of the sunnah. muslims that do not pray etc.
these muslims bother me the most because they don’t see the gift that islam really is. they don’t have a sense of feeling honored by being a muslim. they don’t realize that the haqq of islam didn’t have to be revealed to us. the muslimhaters are attacking our God and our prophet!!! how can we not defend them? we’d stand up for our family, but not for Muhammad ( pbuh ) ? who in our families has had anyone as great as him? i never realized how much i loved islam, until i realized that i loved the prophet ( pbuh ) more than i loved my own mother. and my mother has always been good to me.
so my advice for all muslims is: defend islam with the proper tools for battle. the quran, sunnah, and knowledge. we don’t need to burn flags, pictures of presidents, or filmmakers. we simply just need to use our islamic knowledge and good islamic etiquette to silence our enemies.
