Does the gender of ur child really matters?

I would like to ask whether the gender of ur child really matters?Many culture prefer baby boy than baby girl it is because baby boys carry their family name.Even during our prophets time people are willing to kill their own baby girl.These days doesn't make that much of difference.Some women are willing to keep on trying to have a baby boy even their age is already 40.The man who is so concern about having baby boy.I want the brothers to answer this question.Thank you.

im a brother and I think parents ,that want a baby boy, is just nonsense. I remember someone in my family Just WANTED a baby boy he even made dua to Allah SWT to bless him with a baby boy. And al hamdulilah in the end it was a baby boy. But he wanting to and praying for a son is just I find it abit disturbing. For me I'd prefer to have a girl for some reasons i dont know why but I'd love to have a baby girl over a baby boy. But whatever even If my wife gave birth to a boy It still wouldnt matter to me since it is my baby and a blessing.

yea its true im not sure why alot of guyz prefer boy, Me being a guy i would love to daughter its my dream to have two beautiful pious daughters and Inshallah they will guide me to Jannah with them

Im not sure why father wants a boy, I think they should want daughters cuz they are so cute lol

That was before prophet Muhammed sallahu alayhi waslam was a porphet, but he was a life and he never killed any of his daughter. He only had one son and five daughters bfore he became a messenger. And i think whoever wishes for that has gone back to the time of Jahiliyah. May Allah subhana wata'ala save us from such ignorance in our generations and after that and so on... i will post a video insha ALlah

I completely agree with the sister ...China do have problems cause they are short of female population ... Lets take it this way ...Children are blessings from Allah (SWT) so either there is a girl or a boy doesnt matter that much cause both gender are blessings from the creator SWT. The thing which matter the most is your education to them.

i think, a father is devoid of love if he doesnt have a daughter.

It doesn't matter to me. Daugthers are blessings from Allah, I've one daugther, alhamdulillah. Imagine for childless couples, if Allah suddenly bless them with 5 daugthers I'm sure they will take it happily.
