I believe u can take another drivers test if u jst go to another bmv (thats what my cousin did). I would not care if others got mad/dissapointed at me for not passing because, somethin that my dad told me, if you are looking for the acceptance of others (humans) then they will despise you but if you look for the acceptance of Allaah, He will make them accept you regardless if they it like or not. Sorry he said this to me in Arabic nd im not the greatest when it comes to translating, but u should get the point.
Peace:)

I FAILED. :(

I was so sure that I could do it, and after reading quran and praying for days I thought Allah would help me. But I didn't pass, and now I have to pay even more money to continue and my teacher was very disappointed in me...

One of the worst days in my life...

My driving teacher once told me before my driving test "you will fail today try to book another test asap".When I failed my driving test, he seems to be happy, forget about disappointed.Anayway bro sorry he hear that you failed.Sound like you got a good teacher, practice well Inshallah you will pass next time.

When I took my driving test in the US, I too failed the first time. She didn't like my parallel parking. And she made me go back for quite a ways in a straight line but my car kept swerving around, so I knew what was coming.

But I practiced like crazy (and practiced in the parallel parking spot they use at the driving test about 50 times) and took the test 3 days later. This time she said it was an awesome parallel parking (lol).. she didn't know that I wouldn't have been able to make such a good parking anywhere else. But I "almost" started to turn when I was supposed to be yielding to an oncoming car. But I stopped in time from turning. When it was all over, she told me I had "barely" passed. Oh well. A pass is a pass, whether with flying colors or barely, right?

I actually don't like to drive though. And you should see the driving in India. Shudder.....

When I came to do my driving exam, my father told me you'll neither enter heaven if you pass or go to hell if you fail.

There must be kheer in what happened that you don't see.
This is qadr Allah, accept it, and say qadr allah wa masha' fa'al.

Thanks for all the replies, I really appreciate it.

I'm getting a few more lessons and then another test sometime later this month. Hoping it won't be too long and that I pass, because failing a test is like burning money. I want all this to be over so I can relax in peace!

I will do my best and pass next time Inshallah.

Salaam alaik, young brother!

You know compared to the real test(on yawmul hisaab(account)), this is nothing!! So dont eat yourself up just because you failed to pass. Say Alhamdulillah and look forward to next time. Likes your brothers and sisters have already said; practice, practice, practice even more in the mean time.
Besides, I'm not sure about your area but here, failing the first, second and even the third time is a very normal thing. I know of a sister who passed on her sixth try, lol. Saying she was 'happy' would be an understatement...=)

I failed my driver's test the first time I took it. I bumped the curb on my 3 point turn. Instant fail.

I cried for a while after. My dad had pulled me out of school to go take the test and then I failed it. I felt like a total loser at the time.

But everyone else I knew in school also failed it their first time.

Don't feel bad.

When I failed my written exam for my learners permit when I was 16, I cried a lot. I was "dating" a guy at the time (astaghfirallah in my time of ignorance) and he made me feel very incompetent by saying.."what are you, retarded?" It pretty much scarred me from re-taking it until I was 18 years old.

I dont think they should even have parallel parking on the American test. I mean, there is nowhere in my city to even use it :/ But in Britain and other European cities where most of the parking IS parallel to the sidewalk...yeah they should be tested.

I never did parallel parking for my test and I still don't parallel park to this day.

The thing that got me was the 3-point turn, as I said.

I don't use 3-point turns either. A lot of 87-point turns, but no 3's. :)

Assalaam walaikum,

You youngsters have me laughing. When I took my test..in a galaxy far far away it seems...we did not have to wear seat belts..we could chew gum...the policeman smiled...we all could parallel park...it was an ego thing. We would try to do it with three turns at most...for $10.00 worth of gas you could go from here to there and from there to here..without a ticket..going in speeds in excess of 90 mph...and what on earth is a 3 point turn?

Inshallah you will pass next time. Just relax, breathe, and stay calm. Remember, they want to pass you (god willing) but don't over think or over do, it's just common sense.

Sister. I do not know where you live, but where I live in California, gas is expensive. I recently paid 40.00 $ to go from a quarter tank to full. And the price was about 4.09 per gallon.....

And you went uphill both ways in the snow, too, didn't you? :)

I'm not that much younger than you, sister.

Assalamu'alaykum,

This is the easiest one to do ..

I never use a straight 3. I do a variation on it I call the "87-point turn." Turn as many times as you have to until you're out of a tight space.
In the UK they call it 'Turn in the road' because you're allowed to use as many turns as you like in the process. So yes, you're right.

I passed third time round, on my second attempt I had an examiner who wasn't used to the area, so we got completely lost, I didn't know the route either. I was driving all over the city, before we managed to get back to the Test center, it wasn't valid.

Unless I have the free space normally occupied by around 3 average sized cars, I find parking really stressful to this day. Bay parking is okay, as long as I drive 'straight ahead' in to the space, otherwise I avoid it.

Anyways, you will pass inshaAllaah, even when I had passed, I thought I had failed quite early on in the test, it was a surprise. Stay positive and just re-book your test, its all experience!

Actually on my test, we did something which my friends & family had never done. It was to test my reflexes. He had me go up to 40 MPH then he randomly said "CHILD" And I had to slam on my breaks. This all happened in the parking lot.

Assalamu Alaikum:

That's why INDIA is great. I got my driving license without any test.

Regards.

:wasalam:

Yes, I have one of those too. One day, someone took me to a little shack outside a government building, and they gave me a form to fill out, pasted photographs, tons of signs and stamps, and instant drivers license.

Though I feel too scared to drive in India for my license to actually be useful. Because everything is on the road at once: Cars, trucks, motorcycles, rickshaws, bicycles, pedestrians, cows, buffaloes, stray dogs, handcart-vendors, EVERYTHING on the road at ONCE, without any rule or regulation. Not to mention the wonderful roads with potholes and water.

I once got a big scratch on our car just backing out of the gate. I was too busy trying to see if I could back out onto the road, since my house is on the main road and there's a lot of traffic, and of course no body will stop and yield, and while distracted there, one end of the car hit the gate.

What a life. Sigh.

India is one of the countries I dont plan on EVER driving in.
Including but not limited to Pakistan, Mexico, Japan and the UK.
